Raised From The Wild-Chapter 95: Wooing Her
King Duncan glared at Tatiana. He sensed the sarcasm in her voice. "Watch your word and guard your heart, Tatiana. Jealousy can make you blind and muddle-headed."
Tatiana lowered her head. "I am sorry, Your Majesty," she said meekly. However, deep in her heart, she hated Amaya because her grandfather scolded her.
The stable boy was holding a flag at the starting line. He mentally counted from one to three and when he reached three he lowered the flag and shouted ’Go’ at the same time.
The horses started at the same time. They were neck to neck to each other. When half of the training ground was covered, Raquim was leading while Gamaru was trailing behind.
"I didn’t expect Marx to be good at horseback riding. His posture is very good. He is even better than Gamaru." Ibarra commented.
King Duncan and Amaya remained silent. Tatiana was cheering for Marx while Zanzara and Danella cheered for Raquim.
"Go, Marx!"
"Go Prince Raquim. You can make it."
The shouts from Tatiana and Zanzara were so shrill that Amaya’s eardrums hurt. She was rooting for Marx to win, however, Prince Raquim was leading, and the distance between him and Marx was widening.
When the horses covered three-quarters of the race track, Marx suddenly gained momentum. A few seconds before Raquim reached the finish line Marx overtook him by a few centimeters.
Amaya stood from her chair and clapped her hands. She was so happy that Marx won.
Prince Raquim was shocked. He never expected Marx to overtake him when he was clearly leading. But being the gentleman that he was, he gracefully accepted his defeat. He extended his hand and shook Marx’s hand.
"You are surprisingly good. I apologize for my words earlier."
Gamaru half-heartedly congratulated Marx. He felt ashamed because he finished last and there was a big distance between his horse and that of Marx and Raquim.
They handed the horses to the stable boy and the trio headed to the direction of the spectators.
Tatiana was still shouting like a crazy fan. Marx pursed his lips.
"It Looks like you have an avid fan there, Mr. Skylar." Raquim said, but his eyes were not on Tatiana but rather on Amaya. He saw the bright smile on her face and he felt dejected. It was clear that Amaya was happy that Marx won.
’Will she be disappointed if I am the one who won?’ Raquim pondered. If he wanted to win her heart, he needed to put in more effort. He stole a glance at the man walking beside him. Eventually, he will be going back to Usturia which was on the other side of the globe. It will be difficult for Marx to cultivate a relationship with Amaya if he was too far away.
With those thoughts, Prince Raquim became confident. He was a patient man after all. He can wait.
"Congratulations to the three of you. That was good sportsmanship." King Duncan smiled warmly at the three of them.
Tatiana who was blushing stepped forward to hug Marx. She was acting as if she was Marx’s girlfriend. Marx dodged. Tatiana almost fell if not for Prince Gamaru who supported her.
She felt humiliated but she did not forget to thank Prince Gamaru for saving her.
Amaya approached Marx and she held his hand. She wanted to hug him but decided against it because there were many people around. "Congratulations, I didn’t know you are good in horses. Is it different than riding Kalil?" Amaya was curious to know.
"It is different. You will know it soon."
Amaya faced Raquim and Gamaru. "Like my grandfather, I’d like to congratulate you for your sportsmanship." Amaya extended her hand to Raquim. Raquim took it and held it for some time.
"It is a pity I lost to Marx, Princess. But I hope I will have the opportunity to have a ride with you when you become an expert."
Marx glared at the hands that were still clasped with each other. Raquim felt an icy stare boring into his hand so he reluctantly released Amaya’s hand.
To be fair, Amaya also extended her hand to Prince Gamaru. The Lupanyan prince was the most shameless and thick-skinned amongst the three. When he took her hand, he pressed his lips at the back of it.
Amaya forcefully took her hand away. He just chuckled. "We will be leaving after breakfast princess. I hope you will have the opportunity to visit our kingdom in the near future."
"It is getting late. Let’s have breakfast everyone. Amaya, you can ride your horse later." the crown prince said. He stood from his chair and lead the people together with his grandfather to the banquet hall. They still have guests so breakfast was arranged at the banquet hall instead of the dining hall.
Prince Raquim sat on the left of Amaya while Marx was on her right. Prince Gamaru clenched his fist. His two rivals were quite fast. He decided to sit beside Raquim. It was better than sitting on the side of Marx Skylar. King Duncan, Prince Ibarra, Tatiana, and Zanzara also joined them at the table.
During breakfast, Marx would put food on Amaya’s plate. He did not feel any shame at all. Amaya did not think there was something wrong with what Marx was doing because he also did that when they were on the island and back at Usturia.
Raquim cast an icy stare at Marx. He has gotten some fruits and put them in a small plate and then passed the plate to Amaya.
"Don’t just eat meat, Princess. You should also eat some fruits so you get to have a balanced diet."
Prince Gamaru gritted his teeth. If this continued, he will definitely lose to these two thick-skinned animals.
The people sitting opposite them have strange expressions on their faces, especially Tatiana and Zanzara. Tatiana has a crush on Marx while Zanzara had a liking for Prince Raquim. However, both of the men did not even look at them. Instead, they were busy fighting each other on serving Amaya food.
King Duncan and Pince Ibarra have a silly smiles on their faces. They were enjoying the show.
Amaya coughed awkwardly. "I will have indigestion if both of you continue to place food on my plate."
