Chapter 94: Horse Racing

"Go to bed and sleep. See you tomorrow at the stables." Marx held her hand and pulled her toward her room.

"Good night, Aya." He pushed her inside and closed the door before heading in the direction of his room.

He looked back at the closed door and pondered. ’Did I take things too far? Was I too reckless? What if Amaya will hate me after forcing my kiss on her?’ However, he had to act fast. Just tonight, he already has two powerful love rivals, not counting the men that she will meet in school.

Amaya took a shower while still thinking about the kiss. "Am I not Marx’s friend now? What did he mean by giving me a ring?"

Before going to sleep she googled the word ’girlfriend’. She was troubled when she learned the definition. Was she ready to have a romantic relationship with Marx?

She will ask Clarisse or Lilia about it.

...

The following morning, Amaya was at the stables at 6:00 am.

"Good morning Princess. Are you going to ride this early?" The stable boy asked politely.

"I don’t know how to ride horses but I can learn," Amaya said honestly. "I would like to see the white horse that my grandparents gifted me."

The young lad led her to the far end of the stable. Amaya gasped when she saw a tall magnificent horse with pink skin and a white coat.

"The horse is just two years old. He is very gentle." The stable boy passed a cube sugar to Amaya. "You can feed him with this Princess."

Amaya took the cube of sugar and fed it to the horse and then she rubbed the horse on the neck.

"How about you give it a name?" Prince Raquim’s voice startled Amaya. She was waiting for Marx but it was another person who came.

"Do you know how to ride horses, Princess? I can teach you." This time, it was the crown prince of Lupanya.

"I was the first to offer to teach her." Raquim spoke coldly to Prince Gamaru.

Amaya gave the two princes an awkward smile. She agreed to meet Marx at the stables but she instead met the other two princes. Fortunately, she saw Marx walking with her father and grandfather and they were heading in their direction.

"Greetings, Your Highness and Your Majesty," the two princes greeted at the same.

"What are the two of you arguing about?" Ibarra asked the two princes.

"Ah, we are just discussing who will teach Amaya how to ride horses," Gamaru spoke first.

"Strange, Marx told us that he will be teaching Amaya how to ride the horse." King Duncan has a grin on his face. He was proud of his granddaughter. There were three outstanding men who wanted to woo her.

"How about the three of you race and whoever wins will teach my granddaughter." The king’s eyes sparkled with excitement. In the olden times, princes would duel or participate in contests to win the heart of a princess.

The three men agreed. Amaya was speechless.

The servants hurriedly set up chairs with parasol for the king, the crown prince, and the princess.

The three men wore their helmets and safety vests. They each choose their horses. Marx picked a toffee-colored stallion while Raquim chose a black one and Gamaru picked a dark brown one. They were all thoroughbreds.

"Are you sure you want to race with us, Mr. Skylar?" Raquim sized up Marx. He was wearing riding boots, dark denim, and cream colored long sleeves polo shirt. He just noticed that he and Marx were of the same height while Gamaru was a few centimeters shorter than them.

"Why? Are you doubting my ability?" Marx snickered.

"I just wonder how could a business magnate like you have the chance to ride a horse?" Raquim looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Let us see. We should start. The earlier we start, the earlier you would know whether I can ride a horse or not."

"Are there horses in Usturia? Isn’t that just a place for skyscrapers?" Gamaru also looked down on Marx. He and Raquim have similar thinking. They thought that Marx was a busy businessman. It looked like the fight was just between him and Raquim. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"Granddaughter, let us sit down and enjoy the show. I haven’t watched a race for a long time."

Before the race could start, a few more people came to the training ground. Princess Consort Nelida with her twins rushed to watch when they heard from the servant that three of the guests will be racing.

Tatiana and Zanzara who just woke up and intended to join the royal family for breakfast also rushed to the training ground which doubled as a race track.

Tatiana was about to turn on her camera for a live streaming but her grandfather glared at her.

"Don’t think about it. This is a private matter and those are very important people in their respective countries."

"Grandpa, why are they racing?" Zanzara asked. She could not help herself from blushing as she watched the three people leading their horses to the starting line. What handsome and strong men. They looked even better from famous actors and models. She would be very happy if she can date any one of them.

King Duncan chuckled. He glanced at Amaya who was silently watching the three men.

"Well, each of them wanted to teach Amaya how to ride a horse. They cannot decide so I made this challenge for them. Ha ha ha. I only read this in Lireyan history books. Now it is happening right before my eyes. Princes vying for the heart of a Princess."

"What?"

"What?"

Tatiana and Zanzara exclaimed at the same time. They looked at Amaya with envy in their eyes.

"Why is Marx Skylar participating? Does he even know how to ride a horse?" Tatiana asked worriedly, her gaze trained on Marx.

"He wouldn’t dare to join them if he doesn’t know how." Prince Ibarra said thoughtfully. Earlier, he was surprised when Marx agreed on the race.

"Cousin, you must be feeling proud. Excellent men are fighting just to train you." The sarcasm in Tatiana’s voice was evident. Nelida glanced at Tatiana. Envy was a potent weapon. She just needed to harness it.
