Chapter 71: He Is The CEO

Amaya looked at Julienne with a confused look. "So they were not really listening to the teacher’s lecture?"

Julienne smiled cheekily.

"You know what? You really looked cute and naive. Come let us have our lunch in the cafeteria."

"Hey, are you going out for lunch? Since you are new here, I can accompany you." Raymundo volunteered.

Amaya was surprised to see how fast Raymundo moved to their seat. Just a moment ago, he was sitting at the back.

Julienne sized up Raymundo. He looked harmless so she did not reject his offer.

The moment they came out, Donello together with a few tall and bulky men wearing civilian clothes were striding toward their building.

"Sister, I came here to accompany you to the restaurant," he said wearing a wide grin on his face.

Amaya glanced at the guards surrounding him. She was thankful that no guards were assigned to her otherwise she would be embarrassed.

"It is okay Donello. I will be eating together with my classmates."

The young prince looked disappointed and Amaya was troubled.

"If you want, we can all have lunch together." She smiled at her cousin.

Donello thought for a moment. He was not allowed to eat in the cafeteria. He and his sister always ate in the Royal Chef restaurant on campus. "Never mind, Sister. I’ll bring you to the restaurant where the royals attending this school normally eat some other time. Go eat with your friends first." The young prince shrugged his shoulder.

Donello left along with the guards and headed for the restaurant. He looked back to watch his sister walk with her classmates to the cafeteria. He was wondering why there were no guards around Amaya and why their father did not tell her that she should only eat in the Royal Chef restaurant.

Amaya was also thinking the same thing. "Do you know why is he not allowed to eat in the cafeteria?" She asked the carefree teenager beside her.

"He is the future King of Lireya. He cannot just eat anywhere as some people might have ill intentions and put something in his food." Raymundo answered for her.

"Something?" Amaya frowned in confusion.

Samantha with her three lackeys followed closely and she just heard the conversation between Amaya and Raymundo.

"You have to clearly speak it. The princess does not understand cryptic language. So instead of ’something’ you should directly tell her that it is ’poison.’" Samantha interrupted their conversation.

"Are we talking to you? It is impolite to interject in another’s conversation. Were are your manners?" Julienne retorted.

Samantha gritted her teeth as she looked at the blonde girl disdainfully.

Amaya did not want to enter into an argument with Samantha so she hastened her steps. Raymundo and Julienne had difficulty catching up and even Samantha and her friends were left behind.

They entered a two-story white building. It was filled with the aroma of different kinds of delicious food. Amaya salivated and felt hungry. Raymundo led them to the end of the counter where the stack of trays were and handed one to Amaya and another one to Julienne.

Amaya observed her surroundings and she saw students lining up where different types of food were displayed. She followed Raymundo and Julienne to the counter.

"What do you like to eat, Princess?" Julienne asked her.

Amaya examined the food that was displayed. Her eyes brightened when she saw fried chicken and french fries.

"I’d like to have fried chicken, mashed potato, french fries and some fruits." She said excitedly.

The attendant plated her requested food and passed it to her and she happily accepted.

Amaya was in a daze looking at the huge food selection. She pointed to two more dishes. By the time she reached the other end of the counter where the cashier was, Raymundo and Julienne had already paid for their food and left to look for a table.

Amaya was standing for some time and the cashier was waiting for her. The queue was getting longer and grumbles were heard from the middle of the queue.

The cashier was a poor student who was admitted to high school because she was a top student from her province. She worked as a part-time cashier to support her studies. She extended her slender hand to receive the money from Amaya. Amaya placed her tray on the counter and took the cashier’s hand and shook it.

"I am Amaya Rocas."

The cashier was speechless.

The few students who were queuing behind Amaya were dumbfounded. They looked at Amaya like she was some kind of an alien.

"Here, take this," it was a man’s voice. It sounded deep and pleasing to the ears.

Amaya felt the strong presence of a tall man standing beside her as he passed two paper bills to the cashier.

Amaya turned around and find herself looking into that deep grey eyes again. "Thank you, Teacher Stephane," she said softly. Then, she looked at the cashier and apologized.

Julienne was panting when she reached her side. "What happened?"

"She did not know that she needed to pay for the food." the girl standing beside Amaya answered Julienne’s question. She did not mean anything but Amaya felt embarrassed.

Julienne pulled Amaya and guided her to the table where Raymundo has already started to eat.

Amaya also started eating.

"Mind if I join you guys? All the tables are already occupied." It was the same deep voice that had spoken to the cashier to pay for her food earlier.

"Of course, you can Teacher," Raymundo answered without any hesitation.

The moment Stephane sat down on the vacant seat opposite Amaya, Julienne felt the envious gazes of all the female students in the cafeteria. She shuddered and stole a glance at the teacher.

"I think it is not suitable for you to eat here, Princes. There is a restaurant where you are supposed to eat. I think your brother told you earlier?"

"Yes. But I’d like to eat with my classmates." Amaya lifted her head and find that her teacher was looking at her with amusement in his grey eyes.

She shifted back her attention to the chicken on her plate. She was using her fork to pick it up but she was having a hard time. Her governess always reminded her to keep her table manners no matter where she was. However, she was having a hard time dealing with the chicken and she was getting frustrated.

In the end, Amaya forgot all about etiquette and she took out a table napkin, wrap one end of the drumstick, and used her hand to eat it. She finally was able to enjoy the heavenly crunchy chicken.

Julienne looked at Amaya with horror. She noticed a few students aiming their cell phones at her so they must be taking photos.

"Princess, people are taking a photo of you. Hurry up. Pick up the fork and knife and use them to finish your chicken."

"I don’t mind them, Julie. I just want to enjoy eating my fried chicken."

Julienne glanced at the professor and smiled at him apologetically.

"Aren’t you concerned about your reputation, Princess?" Raymundo asked.

"But I am not doing anything wrong. I just want to enjoy my fried chicken. The first time I tasted this was a few weeks ago in Usturia. It is unfortunate that we don’t have chicken in Miraga, so I never tasted fried chicken there."

"Miraga?" The man who was silently eating with them asked her a question.

"That’s the name of the island where I was trapped for most of my life," Amaya said casually. "The meat my Daddy and I ate was that of wild boars, mountain goats and hares. Sometimes we have snakes and crocodile meat but never a chicken."

Raymundo and Julienne’s expressions turned ugly when they heard snake and crocodile while the man in front of Amaya continued to eat calmly as if he did not hear anything.

"Snakes and crocodile meat? How did you get snakes and crocodile meat?" Raymundo was suddenly curious. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"I set up traps for the snakes. The crocodiles however are quite difficult. I need to do a perfect shot at the neck with the arrows."

"What is the taste of crocodile meat?" Julienne can’t contain her curiosity.

"Well, it is a mild flavor, and tastes a little bit like chicken, but fried chicken tastes a lot better."

"You are being too obvious that your favorite food is fried chicken. Don’t you know that there are so many dishes that taste better than fried chicken? Next time, I’ll bring you to an authentic Uropan restaurant here. Fried chicken will pale in comparison." Julienne was boasting.

"Marx brought me once to a restaurant on top of a building with a beautiful view of the Usturian night sky. That restaurant served all the famous dishes of Usturia, but when I tasted their fried chicken I thought it was the most delicious food in the whole world. Marx asked the chefs to take the fried chicken away so I can also taste the other delicacies. Fried chicken is still the best!"

"Marx?" Stephane asked, with furrowed eye brows.

"His plane crashed on the island. He took me out of the island before it was destroyed by the volcanic eruption."

Raymundo took out his cell phone and type on the screen.

"Wow! He is Marx Skylar. The CEO of the Skylar Conglomerate."

Stephane stiffened. The spoon that was about to enter his mouth froze mid-air.
