Raised From The Wild-Chapter 69: The Biology Teacher
Julienne looked at the arrogant lady in front of them. She did not know her name. Her eyes quickly followed the departing back of their teacher who excused herself because she needed a bio break.
Julienne dropped her obedient look. "Are you mocking the Princess?" She asked rudely.
Samantha’s gaze traversed Julienne from head to toe. She concluded that she was someone that she can bully.
"I am just sharing a piece of advice. Why are you so defensive?" Samantha snorted.
Julienne glared back at her. She wanted to say something but Amaya held her sleeve.
"Don’t mind her Julie. How about you help me with this application form? Can you explain what these other games are? What are these track and field events?"
Julienne looked at the application in her hand. She explained the different track events.
Amaya’s eyes lit up when she learned about the different sprints. She was interested to join because she knew that she run very fast. In the application form, she put a checkmark on the 100m, 400m, and 800m sprints.
"Are you sure you want to join all three? During the sports fest, the interval of these events might be too close to each other so you don’t have time to rest." Julienne frowned.
"It is okay. I think this is fun." Amaya continued to read the other games when her hand paused on fencing. When she was five, she remembered her father made a sword made from wood and taught her swordsmanship. Ibrahim told her that all the men in the Royal family were required to learn archery and fencing. Though she was a female, Ibrahim decided to train her from a very young age. The knowledge also helped her in self-defense.
She used a real sword at the age of ten. Though she only used that when her father was training her. Most of the time, the sword was hidden under her bed.
She put a check on fencing. Overall, she was participating in five sports.
"I didn’t know that school is fun. I am looking forward to this sports fest."
Raymundo was the class president. The teacher instructed him earlier to gather the application form and to help his classmates should they have questions about the sports fest. He went beside Amaya to check on her application form. His eyes widened when he saw the number of checks she placed on the paper.
Samantha who was following closely behind craned her neck and smirked when she the five checks on her paper.
" Why don’t you also join the 1500m run and the 3000m steeplechase? You can also join swimming." Samantha spoke to her sarcastically.
Amaya looked at her thoughtfully. She took out her cell phone and googled 3000m steeplechase because it was something that caught her attention. She smiled and put a check on it. Then she skimmed through the list searched for swimming and checked it."
"Thank you for your suggestion."
Samantha was dumbfounded.
Raymundo and Julienne was speechless.
After a few seconds of awkward silence, Raymundo cleared his throat. "Princess, you might tire yourself if you are participating in too many events."
"It is alright. I just want to try them for fun."
Raymundo was speechless.
"By the way, you are?" Amaya threw him a questioning look.
"Sorry. I forgot to introduce myself. I am Raymundo Zapanta. I am the class president. This is Samantha Lustrez. She is a princess from our neighboring country, Lupanya."
Amaya extended her hand to Raymundo for a brief handshake. She was about to stretch her hand to Samantha but she saw that her hands were behind her back so she did not bother.
"Nice meeting you both. I supposed we don’t have to tell you are names as we were already introduced earlier."
"Here is my application form Ray." Amaya stuffed the paper in his hand.
When Raymundo heard her call him Ray, he wanted to say something but decided not to. He thought that Ray was a nice nickname after all and Raymundo was quite long.
When their class adviser went back it was already time for their next class. The students appeared nervous and listless. Ray and Samantha went back to their seats and sat down without making any fuss.
Amaya checked the class schedule that she saved on her phone. Their next class should be Biology.
"Oh boy, this is only our first day of school and we are having biology. This will ruin my mood." Julienne complained.
A tall man in a dark suit entered their classroom. Amaya looked up and met two deep gray orbs that she saw earlier. So he was their biology teacher.
"Good morning class." His voice was deep and magnetic.
Amaya could not help but take another look at him. His eyes were deep set. He has a high nose bridge and his jawline were prominent. His skin color is like that of wheat, a little bit darker than Amaya’s skin tone.
"Since we have two new students, I will introduce myself. My name is Stephane Gray. My family came from Uropa but I recently migrated here. I am your teacher in Biology and Physics. Now, I’d like to hear about my new students. Please introduce yourself and share your thoughts about Biology."
His stern gaze was trained on Julienne so she have no choice but to stand. She was about to speak but the strict-looking teacher gestured for her to come to the front and face her classmates.
"Hello everyone. My name is Julienne Green, a transfer student from Uropa." She hesitated and stole a glance at her teacher who was observing her. "Well, to be honest, biology is one of my weak points but I am interested to improve and learn more about it." Julienne hurried back to her seat.
Amaya stood up and went to the front. Sighs were heard from the back of the class where most of the boys were.
"I am Amaya Rocas. I grew up on an island with an incredible wealth of flora and fauna. My father taught me to identify different types of plants and made me memorize their scientific names when I was seven years old. Though I hate the boring names, I came to love biology."
Silence descended into the classroom. The jaws of some students dropped.
