Chapter 68: Sportsfest

Amaya obediently sat in front of the class. Julienne on the other hand was cursing inside. She wanted to sit at the back because she did not want to listen to the boring lecture of the teacher.

Soon even Amaya lost interest. She already knew about the things that Miss Gamala was teaching them. If she remembered right, her father taught her about human anatomy when she was twelve years old. She glanced around to see what her classmates were doing. A few were listening to the teacher but many were pretending to listen and just playing.

The teacher misunderstood Amaya. She thought that the princess was having a hard time with her lessons and was looking around to get help from her classmates. She thought of asking her to stay after class so she can help her catch up. Wouldn’t the Royal Family like her because of that? If she was good to the Princess, then she might speak a few good words to her father.

Miss Gamala smiled. But the smile was gone when she noticed that many of her students were either not listening or secretly playing with their cell phones. She got angry and decided to give the class an exam.

"I saw some of you playing games. I can let it pass but as a punishment, I will give you an exam."

When the students heard that there will be an exam, they grumbled but they cannot do anything. Why was Miss Gamala angry today? It was not the first time that she caught them not listening and playing games but why was she angry and punishing them with an exam?

"Do you think it is because the Princess of Lireya is here in our class so, the teacher is showing off and is becoming strict?" The lady in a ponytail sitting beside Ardaya spoke softly so as to avoid the teacher’s attention.

"That is what I think as well." Ardaya agreed with what Ermita said.

"Damn, looks like we will only have difficult days ahead." Samantha, the second to the youngest daughter of the King of Lupanya said.

"You are also a Princess, Sam. You cannot suffer. We will make sure that no one can bully you." Ardaya said with conviction. She was a loyal lapdog of the princess.

Amaya was excited when she received the test paper. This was her first time taking an exam in the school. Even though she was disappointed because the questions were very easy, she happily filled in the test questionnaire with her responses.

After ten minutes, she was done answering. She did not know what to do so she submitted the test paper to her teacher and went back to her seat. She glanced around and found that her classmates were seriously looking down and writing the answers.

"Why are you so fast? Did you read the questions carefully?" Julienne spoke softly so only Amaya can hear what she said.

"Miss Green, please don’t disturb others." the teacher reprimanded her.

Julienne bowed her head and apologized.

"Sorry Teacher Gamala." She nodded in embarrassment.

The yellow-haired teenager who gave them the wrong direction suddenly looked up and caught the gaze of Princess Amaya. She was startled to see such a clear and piercing gaze of the princess. She never saw such a look from Samantha.

The girl lowered her head and continued answering.

Teacher Gamala checked Amaya’s test paper as she was not busy anyway. She would look at Amaya from time to time with an awed expression.

’How can it be? Is she a genius?’ Teacher Gamala wondered.

All her questions were answered correctly. But then she remembered the principal told them the other day, that the princess passed all the admission tests with full marks.

After some time, the students were finally done answering the questions and submitted the test papers to the teacher. Teacher Gamala redistributed the test papers so the students will do the checking. It was also one way of testing what they have learned.

"Class, I am really disappointed with you. The class average is very low. It is good that someone got full marks others it will be a shame. Try to listen and learn as much as possible."

"Teacher, we are curious who got the perfect score. Can you share with us who she is? Is it Raymund?"

"All right, if you say so. You should learn from her."

"The one who got the perfect score is... Princess Amaya."

Everyone was silent. Then, the man at the back started clapping and everyone followed suit. Amaya turned around to see who it was. It was Raymundo.

’What? Was it the Princess? But can she answer so fast?"

’Is she that good?’

’Maybe she got lucky this time.’

Amaya pretended not to hear the murmurs around them and was still sitting obediently for what Teacher Gamala will teach next.

"Class, the sports fest is fast approaching. Those who wanted to participate should fill out the application form and submit it to me before class dismissal."

"Julienne. Julienne.." Amaya called her twice.

"Do you know what types of games will there be during the sports fest?"

"Well, there should be a lot when it comes to the track and field. There should also be swimming, basketball, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, and archery."

"There is archery?" Amaya asked.

"Yes!" Julienne was excited. "You know how to use bows and arrows right? I saw your bows and arrows on the internet. Are you interested to sign up, Princess? Let us sign up together." Julienne was speaking softly afraid that she would be reprimanded by the teacher again.

Amaya pondered for a while. She was interested to join.

"Teacher, can I have the application form? One for me and one for Julienne." Amaya asked respectfully.

Teacher Gamala handed two application forms to Amaya. She passed one form to Julienne and she started filling it out.

Samantha also came to the front along with Raymundo to get the form.

"So Princess, are you going to join archery? A piece of advice, Archery is different from using bows and arrows."
