Chapter 32: Random Questions For Amaya

While Ibarra and Marx were busy discussing Amaya’s matter, Amaya was cornered by some of the reporters who managed to sneak into the museum.

"Princess Amaya, we heard earlier you said your daddy taught you biology. What else did your daddy teach you on the island?" A reporter asked.

"Everything daddy has learned in school he also taught me," Amaya answered.

The reporter scratched his head. "Like what subjects?"

"Science, Math, Physics, Ancient Civilizations, Chemistry, Geography, History, Astronomy." Amaya enumerated the different subjects.

The reporter who asked was speechless. The crowd went silent. Was she speaking the truth or maybe she has a different concept of studying?

"What is your favorite subject then?" Someone asked.

"Astronomy. I love watching the stars at night. I learned all the constellations at six. My favorite is Orion, the Hunter." She said dreamily.

The crowd took out their cell phones and searched for Orion.

"So this is what Orion looked like. I can’t even remember this being discussed at school." Someone murmured from the crowd.

Another reporter asked, "Did your Daddy teach you how to speak Usturian? You speak like a local."

"Yes, Daddy taught me how to speak, read, and write in Usturian. In addition to Lireyan, he also taught me Chaneyan and Uropan, " she shared proudly.

Someone excitedly asked her in Uropan. "What do you know about Uropa?"

"It is the biggest continent in the world, and Uropan is the most widely spoken language, based on data from twenty years ago." She answered in fluent Uropan.

The crowd was astonished. Was this young girl really rescued from the wild?

"Can you greet the Chaneyans in our language?" Another reporter asked in Chaneyan.

"Good day everyone in Chaneya. I hope you are having a wonderful time and enjoying the cherry blossoms." She said in Chaneyan.

The crowd applauded. Who says that this young lady was uneducated and wild? There must have been a mistake!

Someone showed her a video of when she rescued the little boy in the zoo. "You growled here like a lion. What were you doing here?"

"I was telling the lion not to hurt the little boy, otherwise I’ll take away his cubs." She replied.

The crowd broke into laughter. Amaya was confused. "Why did you laugh?" She asked.

"You were joking. What you said earlier was a joke, and that’s why we laughed." A reporter said.

Amaya looked at them blankly for a few seconds.

"But I wasn’t joking. That’s what I told him. He was angry, and he said he would gobble me up with the boy. But he was a tad too slow. I got on his back, and his mate was fuming. She was cursing and threatening me."

The crowd was silent.

"You... you ... understand the animals?" The reporter asked incredulously.

Amaya looked at him like he had grown two heads.

"Only some of them," Amaya admitted. She only understood the animals that she grew up with.

"And which animals do you understand?" A male reporter situated at the back shouted.

"The tigers and the lions, the wolves, apes, and rabbits."

There was a few seconds of silence before someone remembered to ask the question that netizens were asking now.

"Isn’t your daddy the Crown Prince of Lireya? Prince Ibarra? We saw photos of you when you were born and when you were one year old."

Amaya paused and thought for a while.

"I have two daddies. The one who saved and protected me was Daddy Ibrahim. I grew up with him, " she said softly, as if recalling a memory. "Daddy Ibarra is his twin brother, and they looked the same."

Amaya did not know that her casual remark had started a controversial topic in Lireya.

"We heard rumors the other day that you hurt yourself in a mall when you run through a glass door. Is that true?"

Marx made sure that the mall incident was not leaked. Apparently, someone still managed to leak the incident.

"Ah, yes! I got a small wound on my forehead. I did not see the glass. It looked invisible." Her voice trailed when she remembered.

"Why did you remove your clothes and dived into that pond the other day? What were you thinking? " a female reporter boldly asked. Many people speculated as to the reason why she did it. Now, she has the chance to ask.

"The pond is so beautiful with so many colors. In Miraga, I have a favorite pool where I bathe often. It is a spring formed into three cascading pools. The water was bubbly and warm. I missed bathing, and that pond seemed to be calling me to take a dip. I thought the little girl in the middle spewing water was inviting me to bathe."

"Which little girl she was talking about?" A reporter asked one of her colleagues.

"I think it’s the mermaid in the middle of the pond."

Murmurs were heard amongst the crowd.

"Weren’t you ashamed that you just undressed like that with so many people watching? You were even caught in a live stream. You are not a child anymore!" a middle-aged woman asked, and she sounded like she was scolding her.

Amaya’s eyelashes fluttered. She was not used to hearing such a tone.

"That’s how I bathe back in Miraga." Her answer was brief.

"But you are not on an island anymore. You are back to civilization, and you should mind your manners, " the woman continued to scold her.

Amaya felt wronged, and she wanted to cry. She looked around and saw the crowd looking at her like she had done something wrong.

Marx, who had just come out from a room with Ibarra, heard what the woman said. He was displeased and looked at the bodyguards with an icy stare. The bodyguard started dispersing the crowd.

"No more questions!"

He went to Amaya and pulled her out of the crowd. "I am sorry. I didn’t know the reporters cornered you. I thought you were with Karl and Chloe."

"I lost them," Amaya heaved a sigh of relief. "The old Auntie is so harsh, " she complained.

"Do not mind her. As you said, she is an old auntie." Marx took her hand. "Come, let’s go to your Daddy Ibarra."
