Raised From The Wild-Chapter 272: School Again
Amaya woke up early and had her morning exercise. A lot had happened in the past three days and she had forgotten that it was a Monday that day and she needed to go back to school.
When she sent off Marx last night, she told him that she needed to go to school the following day. She only had classes in the morning so she could go back to Verde Island in the afternoon.
Amaya was wearing tight-fitting blue jeans and a pale yellow blouse with bell sleeves. A red Porche stopped in front of her. A man in his early thirties came down from the driver’s seat and opened the door of the passenger seat.
"What happened to the previous driver?" Amaya asked.
"He went home to his province because he is getting married, Princess." The driver replied politely as he continued to hold the door open for her.
Amaya stood without moving.
"What is your name?"
"My name is Dante, Princess." the driver kept his polite tone.
"I am going to take the driver’s seat today, Dante." Princess Amaya said in a firm voice. Dante wanted to protest but she was his boss after all.
Amaya walked around the red Porche and climbed into the driver’s seat without waiting for Dante to reply. Dante handed the key to the Princess.
Princess Amaya, closed her eyes as she held the steering wheel. She remained in that position for a couple of minutes and then she started the engine.
Amaya kept a speed of 40 kph while she was inside the palace grounds. The moment they cleared the guards at the gate, she stepped on the accelerator. The car shoot up like a bullet.
Dante was tempted to grab the hand bar above the door but wouldn’t he appear scared if he did that? He kept himself calm and collected even if his stomach was churning at the speed that the young princess was driving.
"Princess, you might want to slow down. There are a lot of vehicles in the avenue ahead."
Amaya kept her speed at 250kph. She only slowed down when she entered the busy main road.
Because she traveled very fast, she arrived at the school thirty minutes earlier.
"You don’t need to pick me up, Dante. I am going to Verde Island in the afternoon and someone will pick me up."
Amaya threw the key to Dante. When she exited the Porche, a black Maybach stopped behind the red Porche. Four men got out of the car. Amaya recognized them because they were the guards that her Daddy Ibarra assigned to her.
Princess Amaya ignored them as she happily entered the enormous gate. It will take her around ten minutes to reach the science building.
Amaya looked back and noticed that the four guards were following her. They were trying to make themselves inconspicuous and Amaya was pleased. For as long as they did not intervene too much then she had no issues with having bodyguards following her around. She understood that they were only doing their job.
The princess thought that she was early. But when she entered the room, a few were already there.
"Amaya!" Julienne shouted with excitement.
"Over here! I reserved a seat for you." She pointed to a vacant seat beside her.
Amaya obliged and sat beside her. She placed her backpack at the top of the desk.
"Girl, what happened to you? I have sent you a lot of messages but you were not replying. I thought something happened to you." Julienne sounded aggrieved.
"I don’t have a signal in the last two days. Last night I was so tired that I slept the moment my head touched the pillow."
"You have no signal? At this time and age, how could you not have a signal? Are you taking me for a fool?" The way Julienne asked the question sounded so cute.
"I am honest. I really don’t have a signal. We were in the forest so, it is not something unusual right?" Amaya asked Julienne.
"What happened in Ra-Iya?" Julienne asked, her eyes beaming with expectation.
"There was this tradition where people go hunting. I went to the wrong forest and got lost." Amaya told Julienne with half-truths.
"Did you win in the competition?"
Amaya was about to answer when Professor Stephane entered the classroom. The students who were originally noisy became silent. Even Amaya and Julienne stopped talking.
Stephane scanned the room and his gaze lingered a bit on Princess Amaya. Princess Amaya nodded slightly before looking away.
"I want to deviate a little bit from Science today. I want to discuss with you the famous Greek Mythology that describes in detail creatures that were half human and half animal."
Princess Amaya looked at Professor Stephane, her gaze complicated.
"I would like to hear your thoughts. Please answer this question. Do you think, Science can create something like that?"
A frail and timid lady who was always sitting at the back slowly raised her hand.
"Go ahead, Melissa." Stephane encouraged her.
"Professor, I believe that it is possible to do that. We already have an advanced technology for genetic manipulation."
"Hmmm. Your answer is still vague. Can you expound further?"
Melisa felt she was embarrassed.
"When the animal is still an embryo, I think we can modify its genes by removing portion and injecting a human gene into it," she explained.
"Professor Gray, there is no guarantee that the animal who will be born will look half human and half animal." A lanky man seated in front butted in. "I think it is more feasible to do a surgery. The body part of a human will be attached to the animal to achieve the desired result."
"Hey, are you even thinking?" another young lady answered. "Imagine cutting off the head of a man and transferring it to a headless wolf. Do you think that it is simply cruel and inhumane? It is impossible for those two to live."
"How about you, Miss Rocas? What is your answer to the questions?"
