Raised From The Wild-Chapter 214: Her Ruggedly Handsome Guard
"Do you want to expose me?"
King Ralden had betted on the Humans and as expected he won the bet. He has his doubts but in the end, he placed all his bets on Amaya. She grew up in the jungle after all and survived for 17 years. What could a mere five beasts raised in captivity do to her?
The king also bets that her royal guard will protect her until the end. But he did not anticipate that the guard would take the easy route and defeat the animals with a gun. The battle earlier was not fun at all. The guard did not deserve to win.
Hamir called someone from his phone and then accompanied the king and stood beside him as he sat on a luxurious couch inside the throne room. The fourth level is the second story if you view it from the outside.
After ten minutes, two of Amaya’s guards sought the king’s audience.
"Greetings, Your Majesty." the two guards bowed their heads as they cupped their hands. The king’s seat was always higher than the others, whether it was a couch or the intricate throne. He wanted his subordinates and guests to always lift their heads to him.
"Aren’t there ten of you?"
"There are only four of us, Your Majesty. The two have to watch the Princess so only the two of us can come." The guard’s voice sounded dignified.
King Ralden studied the guard who spoke. Amaya’s guards were not ordinary. They all looked handsome and well-built but this guard has a dignified aura with him that made one think that he was not a guard at all. He reminded him of that man he met at the Asteria Palace.
The king, who was holding a tablet in his hands studied the face of the guard in front of him before shifting it to the portrait of a man in the tablet. The similarities that they have were their body build and the shape of their face. Marx Skylar has the color of the deep ocean in his eyes and his short hair was ash blond. The guard before him has a pair of obsidian orbs, and his hair was raven black and reached below his shoulders. Marx Skylar has an imposing aura and looked very much like a domineering and dignified CEO, while the guard before him was also handsome but in a rugged way. He somehow reminded him of Prince Ibrahim’s replica that he saw in the museum in Lireya.
’What am I thinking? They are not the same person.’ He murmured to himself.
"The reason I called you here is I want to know how you successfully evaded inspection and smuggled in a handgun." King Raldend did not go around in circles but went directly to his main point.
"Apologies, Your Majesty. It is a secret that we cannot divulge as it might endanger the life of the Princess in the future." The guard said fearlessly.
King Ralden was pissed off by the guard’s boldness.
"How dare you speak like that to the King!" Hamir shouted at the guard who kept silent.
King Ralden gave Hamir a warning signal and he stopped talking but continued to glare at the guard.
"I reviewed the CCTV camera and I saw how Amaya fell into the tiger’s den. The trap door at that cubicle was accidentally triggered, hence she fell on a chute and landed directly inside the tiger’s cage. What surprised me is the fact that I did not see how you fell." The king’s eyes were trained on the guard. He was intently watching any subtle change in his expression. Unfortunately, there was no reaction on the guard’s face. He was totally expressionless.
"Your Majesty, perhaps that trapdoor was also accidentally triggered when I was checking to look for the Princess."
"There was no recording of you getting into the restroom but after you went out, you did not come back, so how did you activate the trap door and fell into the lowest level of the Colleseum?" King Ralden asked curiously. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Could it be that the CCTV in that restroom malfunctioned? Since one of the trapdoors malfunctioned, isn’t it unbelievable that other devices in the restroom could also malfunction?"
Hamir: "You.."
King Ralden felt his blood pressure shoot up. The guard was not simple. He has the capability to anger him. King Ralden closed his eyes and took a deep breath. After three long breaths, he calmed down and felt better.
"Anyway, I would like to thank you and reward you for keeping the Princess safe. If not for that gun, the Princess could have been devoured by the beasts and I will definitely get into trouble."
The guard wanted to retort the king. Even without him, Princess Amaya will definitely subdue those wild beasts. But of course, he did not say that.
"Thank you, Your Majesty. It is my duty to protect the princess with my life."
"Guns are not supposed to be used in the arena earlier. It was unfair to the animals." King Ralden changed the topic. It was obvious that he was hesitating when he said that.
"What does His Majesty expect us to use to fight those wild beasts? Our teeth and our bare hands? We tried our best to make ourselves invisible to those animals but in the end, it seemed to be that there was an invisible force that lead all of them to our location. If there is only one beast, we might be able to fight it with our bare hands, but there are five of them and they really looked vicious." The guard spoke without any regard for the king at all.
King Ralden clenched his fists. The temperature in the throne room suddenly dropped and his gaze turned hostile to the guard.
"What insolence! Do you know who are talking to?" King Ralden was so furious that he wanted to cut the guard with a sword at the moment.
Hamir who was standing by Ralden’s side, felt the killing intent that has enveloped his King. He unsheathed his sword and was about to point it at the guard’s neck when a pleasant voice spoke from the entrance to the throne room.
"There you are. I have been looking for you for a long time."
