Raised From The Wild-Chapter 213: The Culprit 2
"Who ordered you to do it?" King Ralden’s angry voice almost caused Ricardo to wet his pants.
"It ... is ... It ... is...Lady Sofia, Your Majesty. She .. she .. called me.. to .. "
"Speak properly or I’ll cut your tongue." King Ralden cut him angrily.
The young man swallowed.
"It is Lady Sofia, Your Majesty. She called me and asked me to open a trap door at Segment 2-10." The poor young man forced himself not to stammer. He did not want to lose his tongue.
King Ralden’s eyes flickered. He left the control room without a word and went back to the lounge. His guests including his new queen have left the lounge and went to their designated guest rooms. There were still thirty minutes before lunch.
King Ralden went to the throne room in the Colosseum. The throne was the highest seat overlooking the arena. It could be accessed from the fourth level and there were 33 steps from the fourth level to the throne. The throne sat on a wide balcony supported by pillars made from marble with intricate designs. The throne itself was made from marble gilded with gold.
Yes, the king has a throne room but he did not go up the 33 steps of the stairs to the throne but opened a hidden door at the side. His guards kept watch outside the main door. King Ralden only brought with him his most trusted guard.
The room was filled with monitors and there were only two people manning the computers. They were one of the best programmers in the whole of Ra-Iya.
"Show me the recording when the Princess of Lireya went to the restroom."
The young man wearing thick eyeglasses started to work on his computer. His fingers flew very fast over his keyboard and soon one of the monitors show Princess Amaya walking gracefully along the hallway and her bodyguard was walking beside her while another one was behind them. Then they disappeared from the camera for a few minutes before guard stepped back and Amaya went inside the restroom where she bumped into Sofia.
King Ralden noticed it when Sofia took a second look at the guard before she left without looking back.
The Princess walked toward the last cubicle and entered it. She disappeared from the camera’s view. She apparently relieved herself. After a few minutes, her head was visible from the screen again. She was about to push the cubicle open when she disappeared from the screen.
The young man accessed another camera. Another screen turned on in time for them to witness Amaya appearing from a chute. She landed perfectly on both of her feet. Then the Mightly Hercules was about to attack her when the Princess seemed to growl. The tiger paused but it was only for a moment. It pounced at the Princess, baring its fangs.
Amaya moved very fast and in no time she was up on the roof of the cage, sticking like a salamander with her legs and arms intertwined on the iron rails.
In the restroom on the second floor, the camera showed the guard entering the rest and checking the cubicle one by one, then he went out and talked to the other guard, and after that, he disappeared from the screen.
"Increase the playback by 2 times," the king commanded. He did not have the time to wait.
Suddenly the guard appeared in the tiger’s den. Unlike Amaya, he landed on his butt with his two hands supporting him.
"Why didn’t we see him go back to the restroom?" King Ralden asked.
"Your Majesty, the screen seemed to have been frozen." The young boy typed on the keyboard as fast as he could. "The camera on segment 2-10 was tampered with, Your Majesty. The system was also hacked and the trap door was activated." The young boy was sweating profusely. Who dared to hack the Colesseum’s system?
King Ralden watched intently the interaction of Amaya with her guard and then later on with the tiger until they were forced into the arena.
"Can you crack the real identity of Maximus? When did he make the bet?"
The young lad’s fingers flew on the keyboard once again. Bead-sizes perspiration dropped from his forehead.
"Your Majesty, the bet was made a second before betting was closed. The IP address and the location of the bettor are well protected. I need more time to get through."
The King thought for a while as he studied the guard standing beside Amaya as he pulled the trigger and incapacitated the beasts. He was able to read Amaya’s lips which seem to say to the guard to just incapacitate and not kill the animals.
The guard’s marksmanship was really good and he protected Amaya really well. Guns were not allowed inside the Colosseum so how did he smuggle it inside? There were also those six other men who went inside the arena with dart shooters. Though they were meant to knock out the animals with anesthetics, those were still not his men, so how did those people get hold of those weapons?
The event that happened in the arena was an eye-opener for King Ralden. He realized how lousy the security was in the Colosseum. Maybe not only the Colosseum but also the palace.
"I want you to know the identities of all guards beside the Princess of Lireya and also the six other men who entered the arena. You have two days to get back to me." After saying these words, King Ralden left the room.
The two computer experts were left looking at each other like their lives were hanging on a thread. How are they going to accomplish their tasks? It looked like the Princess of Lireya have a lot of experts by her side.
"Hamir!"
"Yes, Your Majesty?" The king’s most trusted guard bowed solemnly before the king.
"Make an announcement, that I, the King, will personally award the pot to the bettor who won. This is an unprecedented victory, so I would like to meet the bettor personally. Also arrange a meeting with the guards of the Princess of Lireya after lunch.
"Yes, Your Majesty. Do you also want to announce who the second winner is?" Hamir respectfully asked the king.
