I can expand my MAGIC ENDLESSLY?!-Chapter 51: Advance Practical combat
"Haaawww..."
Kairos yawned, rubbing his eyes as he stared at the red target in front of him.
Then he looked around.
The whole Class 1-B was currently at the training ground. Some held swords, spears, and strange weapons, and some held basic wooden staffs just like him.
They all stood in front of a small red target. Some cast magic to destroy theirs entirely, while others used swords and different weapons to strike them down.
"In real combat, your enemies won’t just stand there!" a middle-aged man shouted.
"You must react and cast fast!"
The man had a broad build, with black hair streaked with silver. A massive greatsword rested across his back.
His right hand was covered by a huge golden gauntlet, and he wore a black sleeveless tank top that revealed his thick bulging arms.
He looked more like a battlefield commander than an academy instructor.
In fact...he really was.
The man standing before them was none other than the instructor of their second mandatory class.
Practical Combat Theories. Magnus Raygor. A former platoon commander at the west wing frontlines.
Kairos glanced around at the phoenix, who was wielding the sword. Teresa is holding a staff like him. Before his eyes fall onto Cartalia.
Her gaze looked serious as she stared at the red target, holding her thin rapier. Nodding, clasping her legs together, she moved instantly.
Thrusting the rapier in the middle of the red target. The rapier glowed, covered by thin transparent strings of pink, before making contact with it.
Instantly, the moment it plunged through. The target cracked. Spider waving before crumbling to pieces.
Her eyes lit up seeing this, and she felt happy but controlled her emotions. Kairos couldn’t help but chuckle seeing that.
’Yeah, she had that side of her too. In his last life, she had gone through a lot. Made her more strict with herself. But occasionally that cheerful side of her did overflow.
He turned around, focusing on the target. He pointed his staff. Instantly the space in front of him distorted. His spell zone.
Before, from within, the essence of black gathered, spinning as he thought of it.
Then a sigil blinked. Instantly the black essence solidified a little. (Sigil of solidification)
Before another sigil, a small circular sigil blinked (Sigil of Agility), causing it to spin a little but faster.
With that being done. He flicked his hand. Instantly the spike launched off, hitting the target right in the middle. Destroying it.
Kairos looked at it with a flattened expression. He was also tired from his training last night. After returning home last night.
He tried gasping for the scrolls Theon gave him. And the sigils he got from the sigil library.
Which was integrated into his practice table. The table itself was designed for practice, allowing students to study, rotate, and analyze sigils like an object.
Even though most of the instructions were straightforward, it still took Kairos quite some time to grasp the general concepts. But not enough yet to dive into new types of magic.
After a few seconds. The broken pieces of the target glow, floating into the air before, piece by piece, joining together back to what it was originally.
He has already destroyed it three times already. Truth be told, he wasn’t getting it. Others seemed to enjoy it as they destroyed it faster and faster. But he knew in combat it’s not all about speed.
But he can also see why the instructor is making them do that. It was to be familiar with your own capability as fast as you can so that you don’t hesitate when it’s really the time.
"You and you, get back to practicing," instructor Magnus shouted, pointing his finger at Kairos and one other person.
Kairos nodded and turned around, pointing his staff again at the dummy. ’Should he switch to his sword?’ he pondered, dropping that idea.
His fundamentals were already good; there was no need to waste time on that even if it’s interesting. He needed magic.
With renowned focus. Kairos tried again, this time he’s red lightning. Unlike the shadow element, which was oddly quite stable.
Red lightning was known as one of the nonstable elements, and mostly bolt and destructive spells can be cast.
A wisp of red essence circled within his spell zone. Before the sigil of solidification flickered within, causing a wisp of lightning to circle around the main body.
With a flick of his hand, he let it go. It mashed right at the target. Not causing much damage like his Shadow element. But it did leave behind a wisp of lightning on it for a few seconds, damaging it a little before disappearing.
That was the main feature of their Nozvan bloodline, what he had learned from the book.
[Variations of Lightning].
It portrayed all kinds of lightning elements and variations. They’re being rather simple but also quite strong.
He flicked again, trying it again, this time lowering the density. Causing less damage but more piercing power.
Then again, this time, using much more essence. Causing it to explode the moment it comes in contact.
In simple truth, a versatile, strong element but also lacks stability with other sigils.
He was about to do some more experiments before Instructor Magnus shouted out loud.
’That’s enough!’
Causing everyone to stop, gaining his attention. Seeing it, he paused before speaking out.
"Everyogather in front of me! me! Anyone who causes disturbance whave disciplinary chores as punishment.""
One by one all sixty students gathered before him, waiting for him to speak. Kairos, standing at the side, glanced at the others.
Before his eyes fall on Darius and Nathan. Who were, oddly enough, standing not far from each other. Although he can clearly see Darius glaring at Nathan. While Nathan ignored him completely.
"Strength is something that can never be enough no matter how much you gain."
Magus spoke, making everyone look at him, including Kairos.
"No matter how strong you become, there are things. That can’t be done with strength alone."
Kairos nodded; that was true. Leading armies of mercenaries, he knows very well how much can be done very easily.
"You have to learn to make allies, teammates you can depend on."
"Teammates you can trust, and learn how to work in groups."
Saying that he opened a scroll. "From the next class onward. You all are to train as a team, not as individual people."
"The academy has seen what you are capable of, and you all have chosen your guides."
"You all will be divided into teams of three."
He uttered. Gasping a small circular ball.
The frontal glass side of it glowed, showcasing a transparent hologram.
"Everyone give a glance. These are the teammates the academy has chosen. The leaders among you have to be decided by yourselves."
Kairos before he found his found cartalias team. Was this predetermined?
Oddly enough,
1. Cartalia Lioree - Rank 27
2. Rosa Evalin - Rank 4
3. Teresa - Rank 14
Cartalia and Phoenix are together alongside Teresa. He glanced at his own.
1. Felix Nauvierr - Rank 3
2. Raven-Rank 15
3. Kairos Nozvan - Rank 16
His team has a rank of three on it. It looked like the academy put them as weaklings, as he was too strong.
He then glanced at the others. Not Nathan and Darius were in different teams.
