Chapter 200: The Masquerade Ball

"She went back to the White Villa to rest. I heard that there was a stampede at the church earlier and she was shocked. I think she has not recovered yet." Tatiana relayed the information she got from the guards.

Zanzara’s lips curled up. "Hmmp. She will definitely be shocked because it is her first seeing such an enthusiastic crowd."

Shanaya stood beside a mannequin wearing a red mermaid gown with a low back.

"What a very exquisite and beautiful gown. Will you be wearing this gown tonight, Cous ...Your Highness?" Shanaya changed her address. She felt uncomfortable when she saw Zanzara smile meaningfully.

"That’s right, cousin. The king is so generous. My closet is filled with beautiful clothes and jewelry. I am so lucky." She said smugly.

’Isn’t she too proud? She has just gotten married and she is already acting high and mighty.’ Shanaya pressed the gown’s fabric against her fingers and it felt so soft. The envy in her heart went a notch higher.

"Sis, how does it feel to be married now? And look at you! You have so many maids serving you. I will be missing you." Tatiana whined. She and Zanzara always had a good relationship as siblings.

"It feels wonderful, Sister. I will try to visit you often and you can come to visit me here too. Soon you will also get married. Father and Grandpa will definitely arrange a good marriage for you." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

"But not definitely good as yours." Tatiana pouted.

"The Crown Prince of Albania has not selected his wife yet hasn’t he?"

Tatiana’s eyes darkened. "He seems to like Amaya." She said in a disheartened tone.

"Don’t think too much about it. You will definitely have a good marriage." Zanzara comforted her.

"By the way, have you seen Father, Tatiana?" Zanzara asked.

"I saw him and the king having a conversation in the drawing room," Tatiana replied.

"The King and Uncle Sapiro seemed to have a very harmonious relationship. What could they be talking about?" Shanaya said in a speculative tone.

"What could it be other than collaboration? This is a marriage alliance after all." Zanzara retorted with a snort.

Shanaya who could not refute excused herself and went out of the room.

Meanwhile, at the White Villa, Amaya changed into the black and red ball gown when Manna knocked on her door. She was wearing a mask that resembled a Red Admiral butterfly which was a match for her gown.

"Princess, there is a delivery for you."

Amaya opened the door. Manna came in and brought with her a big box which she laid on the bed. There was a card on the box.

’Wear this tonight. This will suit you. Marx.’

Amaya’s lips curled up. She happily took out the gown and laid it down on the bed. The material was so soft that Amaya can’t help touching it a few more times. In her excitement, she forgot all about the camera and allowed Manna to undress her so she could change into the new gown.

The guard watching her on his cellphone quickly froze the camera and waited when the servant was blocking her back while zipping the dress before reverting the camera to normal.

"Princess, you are so beautiful. It is like you are on fire."

The gown which was a mix of orange, red, and yellow, barely kissed the floor. The bodice was made of delicate translucent lace similar to the color of her skin. The skirt was made of three layers of chiffons alternating between red, orange, and yellow. Her breasts were covered by a pair of orange appliqué that resembled flames. They were padded because she cannot wear a bra underneath.

The neck was also covered by sequined appliqués. It resembled the fiery neck of a Phoenix. The upper sleeves have embellishments that looked like wings. The mask was elaborate and looked like the head of a phoenix.

She did not wear any jewelry because of her outfit. Manna applied very light makeup as per Amaya’s instruction. She will be wearing a mask anyway. Manna curled her hair to make it appear thicker and arranged it at the back.

"Princess I am afraid that the new queen will make you suffer. You are so beautiful that you will definitely overshadow her." Manna said a frown appearing on her face.

Princess Amaya chuckled. She remembered her servant, Lilia who would say the same thing.

"Don’t worry. I am sure that her dress will be even better."

The guard was waiting outside in the living room on the ground floor. When he saw the princess descending the stairs, he could not take his eyes off her. Her skirt fluttered when she walked, just like the wings of a bird.

Princess Amaya smiled at him and his heart skipped a bit. He forced himself to retract his gaze by slightly bowing down to her. Then he followed her to the banquet hall. Like her, he was also wearing a mask and it was a wolf. He reminded her of Cirrus, Strata’s father.

Since Princess Amaya took time to change into a new gown, the ball has already started. She has two of her guards escorting her from the White Villa to the banquet hall.

At the banquet hall, the bride Zanzara opened the dance floor together with King Ralden. She wore a thin mask of red and has trimmings of diamonds so her features were visible and everyone can tell that she was the bride.

King Ralden has allowed his other wives to join the masquerade but warned them not to stir up trouble. It was rumored that the youngest concubine of the king was the most beautiful girl in the whole of Ra-Iya though not many people had seen her face.

There was a commotion at the door and everyone’s gaze shifted toward the entrance of the banquet hall.

A confident lady with a very beautiful figure strode in. Everyone held their breath as they stared at her with wide eyes that were filled with adoration.

"Is that her?"
