Chapter 199: The Queen

"You looked cute when you react like that. Much as I want to keep dancing with you, time is up." The king sounded regretful but his eyes carried a hint of playfulness.

He led her near the elevated platform and twirled her a few times before letting go. Princess Amaya went back to her seat in a daze.

Why did she feel that she was just taken advantage of?

Everyone’s attention was on the couple who was dancing in the middle of the dance floor. It was a gentle dance, unlike the bold and provocative dance of the king with the princess. The audience only thought that it was because the bride’s gown was too elaborate that they can only do that kind of dance.

All throughout the dance, the couple were looking at each other’s eyes and this gave the audience the impression that they were in love.

"I have a lot of expectations from you, My Queen. I hope that you can help me get resources from Lireya." the king said in a gentle tone.

Zanzara looked into those orbs that were as dark as the night. Coupled with his magnetic voice, she felt that her soul would drown in the twin whirlpools.

"Of course, My King. That is my duty as your queen." Zanzarra said, her gaze was full of love and adoration.

"Good!" The king smiled gently and Zanzara’s heart fluttered.

Initially, King Ralden only wanted her to be one of his concubines but because the country did not have a queen, and Lireya was a strong country, he changed his tactic.

He danced his way to where the bride’s maids and Princess Amaya were seated. From his peripheral vision, he saw that the princess was not looking at them but rather on her mobile phone. He suddenly turned his head and swept the audience. Everyone has their eyes on them except for the princess.

Zanzara felt that there was a change in his mood. His hand holding her waist dug deeper to the point that he was hurting her, but she still kept the bright smile on her face.

"This is enough." The king said gloomily and he led her back to the couple’s seat on the elevated platform. Everyone stood up and gave them a standing ovation.

King Ralden glanced at the table where Princess Amaya was. She was standing but still looking at her cell phone. He clenched his fist. He thought that he mesmerized her enough during the dance but apparently, he failed.

Prince Sapiro approached the king and his daughter.

"Congratulations Your Majesty. Congratulations my daughter!" He was beaming with pride. Who would have thought that he would become father-in-law to a king? In the entire world, only four kingdoms remain.

"Father, how good would it be if you are also the king." King Ralden whispered in a low voice that was only audible to the three of them.

Prince Sapiro also known as The Duke of Pigarro paused. A glint flashed across his eyes. The corner of King Ralden’s lips curled up. He could clearly read the greed on Sapiro’s face.

"Even if you are only a few minutes older than the crown prince, you are still the firstborn of the king." Prince Ralden added.

Sapiro’s back stiffened. His mother has given birth to him when he was only seven months old. Somehow, King Ralden’s words were true. He was older than Ibarra and should have been the rightful heir to the throne.

"My mother is not the queen, Your Majesty." Prince Sapiro said gloomily. But a seed has already been planted in his heart and mind.

"My mother is also a concubine, Father." King Ralden hinted. Then he smiled showing everyone, including the people watching the live broadcasts that he has a happy conversation with his father-in-law.

"Father, remember that my queen is your daughter, and you can count on me should you need help." King Ralden said this when the paparazzi came near them to take photos.

Amaya went back to the White Villa after the wedding reception. She soaked in the warm bathtub to relieve her tired muscles. She was thankful that she insisted on wearing low-heeled sandals otherwise her legs would be killing her right now. She didn’t know that getting married could be this stressful. There is still a masquerade ball in the evening. Amaya sighed.

After an hour, she left the bathroom wearing a robe. She forgot to bring her clothes inside.

Manna has prepared a cloth for her and the pieces of clothing were placed on her bed. She took them back inside the bathroom and she was all dressed the second time she came out. She dived into the bed and fell asleep.

At the queen’s quarters, a servant was brushing Zanzarra’s hair while another one handed her a platter of cut fruits. Another servant was doing a foot massage. This was the scene that greeted Tatiana and Shanaya when they entered the queen’s sitting room.

The queen’s room was located on the second floor opposite the king’s. It has a sitting room, a big bedroom, and two guest rooms.

"Sister!"

"Cousin!"

Zanzarra frowned. Since she was already married to the king, shouldn’t she be addressed as ’Your Majesty?’. Then, she remembered that she still need to have the coronation before the official title can be conferred to her.

"Congratulations! I am so proud of you, Sister. You have married a king." Tatiana’s happiness was pure and sincere at that moment. She was truly happy for her sister. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"Congratulations, Cousin. You are so lucky! I guess the next time we meet, I will have to address you are ’Your Majesty.’" Shanaya felt sourness in her nose.

"What are you saying, cousin Shanaya? Of course, we are still cousins and you can continue to call me that." Zanzarra was smiling sweetly on the surface but she was gloating inside. She looked toward the door with an expectant gaze. But after waiting for some time, the person she was expecting to see did not enter.

"Where is Princess Amaya? She did not come to congratulate me?" Zanzarra’s gaze darkened.

"Something happened to her sister..."
