Raised From The Wild-Chapter 172: First Date
Tamara clutched the black box. She lifted it as if she wanted to throw it away.
"What are doing?" Amaya rushed to her side and held her hand. "That is one of my most beautiful creations!" She pouted.
"What? I just want to check what is inside." Tamara said as she animatedly opened the box. She had seen the photo of the jewelry but she did not expect how beautiful the set was in reality.
"You are awesome Amaya. This is very beautiful." Tamara exclaimed. She forgot her earlier resolve to not accept it because it came from her future fiancé.
Someone called Prince Raquim and he left reluctantly. Amaya was left with Tamara.
"Leonardo looks handsome enough and he seemed to like you. Why don’t you like him?" Amaya wondered why Tamara seemed to resent Leonardo. "Have you dated before?"
"It seemed like you already know the concept of dating. We met a few times during celebrations at the palace. That’s it. How about you Amaya, have you dated anyone?"
Amaya thought for a while. She actually did not have any idea what a proper dating was. She asked Tamara earlier because she heard that’s what a couple does.
"I cannot really say." She took out her cell phone and searched what a couple do during dating. When she saw the search results she said nonchalantly "I haven’t been to a date yet."
"Haven’t Marx dated you?" Tamara asked while fiddling with the ruby necklace.
"Well, we always have someone with us. So it is like a group date."
Tamara was about to say something but she stopped. She gestured to Amaya that there was someone behind her.
Amaya turned around and came face to face with the King of Ra-iya.
"It is you, Your Majesty. Where is my cousin?"
"She went to the restroom." He said in a sexy voice.
The hand that was twirling the necklace froze. Tamara looked at King Ralden in a daze. What a beautiful voice. She wanted him to continue talking so she could listen some more.
Amaya flicked her finger and Tamara blinked. "What a mesmerizing voice," she uttered softly. Amaya could only agree with her.
"Greetings, Your Majesty!" Tamara did not bow but she did a graceful curtsy.
"I can’t help overhearing your conversation about dating. If you need a date, I can volunteer." King Ralden said shamelessly. He looked at Amaya in a teasing manner.
Amaya looked at him dumbfounded.
Tamara chuckled. "You are so gullible. His Majesty is simply joking."
King Ralden threw a sideways glare to Tamara. How dare she speak for him?
"I am not joking. I am serious, Princess. If you want to go to a date, I can indulge you." The king’s devilish smile stunned Tamara. Has the king taken a fancy to Amaya? But how could it be? Isn’t he marrying her cousin?
Tamara did not dare to say anymore. She lowered her gaze and she felt that her surroundings froze. She could tell that the king was glaring at her.
Amaya was at a loss on what to reply. Fortunately, she saw Zanzara walking towards them. Her hips swayed ftom side to side as she walked. She was walking Iike a beauty queen.
"Cousin, Princess Tamara, thank you for entertaining My King while I am away."
Amaya: ...
Tamara: ...
Amaya heard Marx’s voice. He was walking toward her in big strides. When Marx arrived at their table, he politely greeted King Ralden and acknowledged Princess Tamara and Zanzara.
Marx placed his hands in his pockets as he walked side by side with Amaya to the lounge.
Amaya seemed to remember something. She looked back at Tamara and shouted a bit louder. "I already had my first date, back when we did stargazing."
Tamara choked on the wine she was sipping. She was left alone on the table as both King Ralden and Zanzara left. Tamara was coughing very hard and Amaya was worried. She wanted to go back but soon a tall figure towered over her small frame and patted her back. He did not stop his movement until Tamara looked okay.
"What we’re you talking about? You spoke so loud just now that people were startled."
"We were talking about dating."
"And why would you talk about such topic?" Marx intentionally slowed down.
"Hmmm. Tamara is going to be engaged to a general’s son. She doesn’t seem to like him and I asked if they ever dated. She also asked back if I dated but I said it was like a group date. She wondered why you never asked me to be your date."
Marx suddenly stopped. Amaya who was walking slightly behind him bumped into him. They were now in a narrow corridor and there were no people around.
Marx looked at Amaya with a complicated look in his eyes.
"But after thinking it through I think we went to a date, the night we watch the stars on my birthday. I was already 18 that time so that should be a proper date."
Marx heaved a sigh of relief. Amaya did not remember the night when they gazed at the stars in the island. At that time, he lost control and kissed her.
"Tomorrow. I will bring you somewhere fun." Marx tucked a loose strand of hair that escaped from her bun.
"Really? Is it a date between us?" Amaya asked innocently.
Marx’s eyes glistened. He wanted to take her into his arms but they might be seen by other people.
"Yes, it is a date between us."
Marx lead Amaya to the lounge. She faced a familiar man but she can’t remember who he was.
"Aya, do you remember General Douglas? His son is going to be engaged soon and he wanted you to design an engagement ring for his fiancee."
Amaya has a doubt in her heart. "Is your son called Leonardo?"
General Douglas nodded.
"What a coincidence. Princess Tamara is my friend. I would be happy to design an engagement ring for her."
That night, the internet was filled with news about the success of the auction. A rumor has also started that Amaya has treasures beyond measure and that she was the richest woman in the entire world.
Marx worked with Ibarra and King Duncan to dispel the rumor. While most of the posts were deleted, there were a few that persisted. It looked like there was someone working in the background to harm Amaya.
The following morning Marx fetch Amaya at 9:00 am. He brought her to an amusement park beside the sea. The lot occupied by the amusement park was a reclaimed area so there was no beachfront but rather a breaker with big stones stretched around one kilometer to cushion the lashes of the harsh waves.
"Why are there very few people around?" Amaya looked around and there were only a few family with children milling around the park.
"Maybe, it is because it is still very early." Marx said innocently.
"What would you like to play first?"
Amaya pointed at the roller coaster. Actually, Marx can’t remember when was the last time he rode a roller coaster. Perhaps he never did. As a child, he was busy learning business administration and economics. He also mastered mathematics and sciences but he lacked the experiences of a child his age should have.
There were only twenty people who rode the roller coaster and they were mostly teenagers.
The roller coaster’s restraint snapped into place and it started moving. At first it was slow but then it accelerated and Amaya felt an exhilarating experience. She raised her hand and let out a gleeful shout.
Marx on the other hand was feeling nauseous. He looked bad. Did he really not played a roller coaster before? His grip in the restraint bar tightened until his knuckles turned white.
"Marx, relax. Take a deep breath and let it go." Amaya coaxed him. She took his left hand and intertwined her fingers with hers. It was only then that Marx relaxed and enjoyed the exhilarating experience of the rolled coaster.
Marx was emboldened. He need to make up for the earlier bad reputation that he had shown Amaya, so he invited her to ride the bigger version of the roller coaster.
This time, Marx enjoyed every minute of it. He seemed to be making up for his lost childhood.
They entered the haunted house. No matter how much the props men tried to scare Amaya, they could not win against her. In the end she scared them off.
Amaya’s favorite was the swan ride. Marx wanted to take control of the pedal and Amaya let him. She enjoyed the few minutes where Marx were driving the swan around the small artificial lake.
"Did you ever ride a carousel Marx?" Amaya was curious. Judging by the excitement that Marx has, it looked like he never did.
He assisted Amaya to get into one of the big horses. A little child has his eyes on that horse but Marx just glared at him.
"Daddy, he is a baddie. He bullies me." The little boy complained to his father.
The child’s father glared at Marx. But when he saw his stern face, he and his little boy cowered and got into the second biggest horse instead.
"Don’t worry son, will teach him a lesson."
