Raised From The Wild-Chapter 126: The Crown Was a Burden
A pair of brown hostile eyes looked at Amaya. How dare she suggest such a bold idea?
"Amaya, don’t put such crazy ideas into your brother’s head. You know how important he is and his safety should not be taken lightly. Can you guarantee his safety when he is in the mountain?" Princess Consort Nelida’s voice was shrill and stern. She was normally gentle but she did not bother to put on her pretense at that time.
"We can bring his royal guards to protect him...."
"Stop sprouting nonsense!" Nelida sounded angry.
Amaya looked wronged. "I am sorry Aunt Nelida. I just thought that Don will enjoy it and he can also go hunting there. Isn’t the first King of Lireya a hunter? I can see his hunter’s garb everytime I pass by the fountain at the front of the castle." Amaya asked, looking innocent.
Nelida pursed her lips. ’Is she going against me on purpose?’
She smiled but the smile was meaningful and did not reach her eyes. "Times has changed my dear niece. In the old times, kings led their armies into battle. But now everyone do their best to protect the king."
Amaya simply nodded and looked at Donello pitifully. So, the crown was a burden. She was happy that her Daddy Ibrahim was not the crown prince and her heart ached for Crown Prince Ibarra. No wonder he was so strict. He missed a lot fun in his life.
"Everyone, Amaya’s jewelry shop will have its opening on Saturday. If you are free try to support her." King Duncan announced.
"Grandpa, the ribbon cutting will happen in the morning and there will be an auction afterwards in the Luxe banquet hall." Amaya supplemented.
Sapiro exchanged glances with Amaro.
"She set up a jewelry store that fast? Do you think the gems came from that island? Sapiro asked in a hushed tone.
"Definitely. Why would she sell jewelries? Where is she going to get the gems if not from the island?"
"Amaya, do you need any help? Running such kind of business requires skill and a lot of connections. You just recently arrived in Lireya. We, your uncles and aunts can help you." Sapiro said sincerely that Amaya was touched.
"Don’t worry Uncle. If I need help, I will definitely come to you in the future. But for the company, Marx settled everything for me."
Sapiro’s hostile glance fell on the tall man with blue eyes and dark blonde hair. Marx looked back at him with an arched eyebrows. Sapiro looked away. The man seating beside Amaya was giving off a powerful aura that stifled him.
"Amaya, why not let your uncles and cousins help you? Marx after all is the CEO of a big conglomerate in Usturia. His is very busy and his time is precious." Nelida spoke gently. She was acting as if she was Amaya’s mother.
Before Amaya can say anything, Marx butted in. "It is no trouble at all."
His short sentence silenced everyone in the hall. Marx’s aura is no different than the king’s. He spoke with such authority that no one can object.
There was an awkward silence in the hall. Everyone was grateful when the butler came in and announced that the food was ready.
Zanzara chose a seat beside Marx and Amaya. She always find opportunities to stick to Marx.
"Cousin, how about you make me and Tatiana your brand ambassador?"
"If you can make the shop famous, then why not?" Amaya humored her cousin. Of course she can help them. Even though, she did not trust them, they were still her family after all. She did not know but in her heart, other than her grandparents, she only trusted Marx.
"How big is your shop? How many attendants are there?" Tatiana asked. She was curious as how Amaya who came from the wild and has just started to go to school could start a business so soon.
"Simply Jewel just have a CEO, a finance officer, a marketing officer and six sales attendant rotating on two shifts." Amaya was nonchalant when she answered, as if it was a usual thing she does.
It was not only Tatiana who was dumbfounded but also Zanzara and Shanaya. The sons and daughters of King Duncan all looked at Amaya in surprise.
After the family dinner, Amaya accompanied Marx to the entrance of the palace.
"Marx, let’s bring my friends tomorrow. I can sense that the back of Mount Daya is more dangerous. They can help us. Can you arrange for it?"
"Sure, but you have to reward me." Marx replied without hesitation. Amaya only needed to look at him with those pleading eyes and his heart would melt. Even if he wanted to reject her, he would say ’Yes’ in the end.
"And what reward would you like to have?"
Marx was being shameless. He pointed to his cheeks and said teasingly.
"A kiss."
Amaya chuckled. She tip toed and gave Marx a peck on his cheek. Marx tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and caressed his check with the back of his hand. He then passed his thumb across her lower lip.
Amaya’s face reddened. Her heart started to beat rapidly. She was feeling that strange emotion once again.
Marx looked at her with his deep blue eyes. He breathed heavily then he retracted his hand.
"Sleep early. I’ll pick you up at 5:00 am then we go to the zoo to pick up the animals."
"How about we meet at the zoo at 5:30 am so you don’t have to waste your time traveling to pick me up."
Marx looked unhappy.
’Did I say something wrong. Why does he looked gloomy?’ Amaya pondered.
"Be good and wait for me tomorrow."
Marx turned around to leave without allowing her to say anything.
Amaya nodded. She stayed on her spot and waited for Marx’s car to leave before heading to her room.
When Amaya entered the room, a shadow left the pillar and headed toward the crown prince’s study.
