Raised From The Wild-Chapter 127: Looming Dangers
"Uncle, look! Amaya was fooling around with Marx." Zanzara passed her cell phone to Prince Ibarra.
Ibarra frowned when he saw the photo of Amaya giving a kiss to Marx. It was apparent in the photo that she was the one who initiated the contact.
"What do you want to achieve by showing me this, Zanzara?" Prince Ibarra sized up his niece. Was she jealous of Amaya?
"Uncle, I am just worried about my cousin. If other people saw such intimate photos, they might think that my cousin is throwing herself to a man." Zanzara spoke softly.
"Then, you should delete the photos now so it will not fall into the hands of unscrupulous persons." Prince Ibarra did not look up from the document that he was holding, but his voice was cold and domineering.
Zanzara did not understand her uncle at all. ’Is he asking me to delete the photos? Is he not going to discipline Amaya at all?’
"What are you waiting for? I told you to delete the photos." This time, Prince Ibarra was cursing silently.
"Yes Uncle." Zanzara replied obediently and the. she hurriedly deleted the photos.
Prince Ibarra raised his hand and Zanzara placed her cell phone on his palm. He quickly checked her gallery and photos where they were taken down.
...
The following morning, Amaya was already standing in front of the fountain and waiting for Match. She was carrying a green, backpak. A few minutes later, Marx arrived.
"Good morning, Marx" she greeted warmly.
Marx took her backpack and carry it to the car with one hand. He instructed the driver to go to the zoo. They arrived at 5:30 am and it was still dark.
The people who were assigned to transfer the animals were having a hard time as the animals were restless. When Amaya saw that they were having difficulty, she hurried her steps and went to the entrance of the enclosure.
She made an animal growling sound and the animals followed her to a closed van parked beside the enclosure. They went inside obediently.
The strong men who were having a hard time earlier cannot believe their eyes. The wild animals were so docile that they thought they were played for. Maybe those were big cats and big dogs and not tigers and wolves. What kind of magic did that young girl applied for such wild animals to follow her obediently?
Amaya talked to her friends. "I will bring you out to scout our new home. But I will bring you again here afterwards as there are some things that we still need to setup in our new home."
The animals became excited. The rubbed their bodies against her legs then they went into the closed van.
"See you later." Amaya growled.
The driver of the van was speechless. Did she just yell the animals to see them later?
Amaya went back to Marx and they went out of the zoo. The Jeep Wrangler was already waiting for them at the entrance.
It was still a little dark when they arrived at the island. Marx brought breakfast for Amaya and they had a light meal. They can have full breakfast once they reached their first stop over.
Amaya had the closed van opened. The excited animals jumped one by one from the van.
The soldiers who were tasked to accompany them stepped back, drew their guns and point them to the animals.
"It is alright. They are my friends." She introduced the wild animals to the soldiers and the mountaineers.
The soldiers were flabbergasted. Did she say the animals were her friends?
Once the animals were comfortable enough around the soldiers and mountaineers, they set up from the base to the mountain. Their target was the side of the mountain that faces Mount Ibra.
They reached the peak in less than two hours. After resting for a while, they descended to the deepest part of the jungle. The vegetation became thicker and their progress were slow.
Just before lunch, they found a place suitable for them to camp and eat.
"Julienne. Don’t go too far." Amaya warned Julienne when she saw her walked away. Probably she needed to relieve herself.
Amaya asked Strata to watch over her friend. "But don’t come too near as that will scare her."
Strata growled in understanding.
She marked the place in her map as a possible location for a tree house. When Julienne was back, they continued moving downward until they heard a gurgling sound. They followed the sound and they came into a river with a waterfalls. The waterfalls was not too high but it was wide.
Was this the river they saw from the peak of the mountain.
As it was getting dark, they set up camp in the area. Amaya set up her own tent. She did not want to be a burden for others.
She asked the men to gather some branches, bark and other parts of the tree that can be used for their fire later.
Khalil left with his mate. When he came back he brought with her a fat rabbit and a pheasant. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
The soldiers and mountaineers have already seen how Amaya interacted with the animals and yet they were still surprised when they saw the tiger placed the two animals they hunted before her feet.
Amaya skillfully skinned and cleaned the animals before handing them to Valdez.
Julienne’s eyes almost bulged out of their sockets. "You..." she blurted out. How can she be so calm doing those. She stole a glance at Marx who was crouching and drawing on the clipboard.
"How do you want to cook these animals?" Valdez asked while lifting each animals in both of his hands.
"Just grill them." It was Marx who answered.
"Wash them first and use this on them." Amaya passed him a packet of spices.
Amaya went to the river to wash her hands. One of the soldiers followed her and filled a kettle with water.
"Do you drink coffee, Princess?"
"Yes, but I like tea better."
Amaya stood up and surveyed the surroundings. The leaves of the trees above them were so thick that only a little bit of the late afternoon sun seeped through.
Amaya looked back and saw that Marx was sitting under the tree while he was focused looking down on the clipboard. A ray of sun hit an area above his head.
Amaya’s eyes widened. She quickly took an arrow from the quiver slung at her back. She left her bow outside her tent but she has a small version that could fit inside the quiver. She aimed at Marx’s head.
"Princess, what are you doing?" The soldier was horrified.
