Chapter 118: Exam Day

It was Wednesday and the final day for the mid-quarter examinations for Grade 12. Last Monday, they had two subjects which were about Lireyan History and Languages. On Tuesday, they had World History and Sciences. Today, they would be taking Mathematics and Physics.

Amaya did not have the time to review during the weekend because they went mountain climbing on Verde Island so she reviewed her lessons prior to the day of the exam itself. She found the tests very easy and she was confident that she would get a perfect score.

"Princess, why are you so relaxed? I don’t see any dark circles around your eyes. In the last two days, you handed your papers after only forty minutes. I am envious of you." Julienne spoke while pulling a chair beside her.

"I reviewed the night before. I don’t like to sleep so late so I reviewed early and finished early." In fact, she just scanned her textbook and that was it. She remembered everything.

Teacher Gamala came in with the test papers. Raymundo, together with the class monitor helped distribute the test papers. The moment Amaya received the test paper, she focused on answering the questions. She heard her classmates’ sighs. When she looked around, she saw the dazed look of some who were having difficulties answering the questions.

As usual, Amaya finished the test in half the allotted time. She reviewed her paper before passing it to Miss Gamala. Her teacher was not surprised anymore as it was the same in the past two days.

Amaya left the room and she sat down on the stone bench under a huge tree. Amaya studied the tree and judging by the diameter of the tree, it must have been around for a century.

She took out her sketch pad and started the draft of her jewelry design which she called the Verde Series. She was so engrossed in her drawing she did not notice someone approach her until a shadow fell on her drawing. She looked up and met a pair of deep gray orbs.

"Good afternoon, Teacher Stephane." Amaya greeted him politely.

Stephane shifted his gaze to where the Alpha classroom was. "Are you done with the test?" He asked and settled himself beside her on the stone bench.

"Yes. I already submitted my paper to Teacher Gamala. I am just waiting for them to finish the Math exam and then I can go back for the Physics exam."

Stephane studied her for some time. "You finished the Math exam fast?"

"Hmmm." Amaya hummed as her left hand gripping a pencil continued to move over the paper.

Stephane was curious about what she was doing. He leaned closer to see what she was drawing. A sweet floral scent entered his nose and he has the urge to come closer still and inhale some more.

’Damn! I am known for my self-control so what am I thinking now?’ He thought to himself and moved back.

He cleared his throat. "What are you drawing? Are those jewelry?"

Amaya paused and turned to her left. She was surprised to find Stephane leaning toward her.

"Yes, Teacher. I’m drawing the draft of my Verde Collection." She said confidently.

"You know how to design jewelry?" Stephane straightened up when he realized he was too close to Amaya.

"It is just drawing." She said matter-of-factly.

"Can I see it?"

Amaya hesitated before passing the sketch pad to him. "It is still a very rough draft."

Stephane turned the three pages and studied the draft. "It is pretty good. I did not know that the princess is very talented."

Of course, Stephane knew that Amaya was a good artist. He saw a few of her paintings in the museum.

Amaya stood up. It was time for her to go back to class. Stephane handed back her sketch pad.

"Good luck with your next exam." He said casually. He stood up and placed his hands in his pocket.

"Thank you." Amaya was always polite in her words. She turned around and headed back to the classroom.

Stephane followed her with his dark gaze. ’What an interesting princess. She piqued my interest every time.’

The physics exam was quite difficult. Even Amaya took some time to complete it.

When the exam ended, Amaya would like to go to the zoo to visit her friends.

"Julienne, would you like to go to the zoo with me?"

Julienne wanted to. She was about to say that maybe Raymundo can tag along when she saw the cold gaze of Marx Skylar outside the classroom.

"Let us go there some other time." She said loudly. Then she leaned close to Amaya and whispered, "Your Prince Charming is outside."

Amaya turned around. She thought that Julienne was joking but indeed Marx was there. She raised her hand in the air to say hi to him.

Julienne stuffed Amaya’s books inside her backpack and pushed her toward the door.

"Go. Don’t make the CEO of the biggest conglomerate in Usturia wait for you. His hourly rate is very expensive."

Amaya pouted at Julienne, then she turned around and exited the room. She did not fail to notice that her female classmates were ogling Marx. He looked particularly handsome in his yellow polo shirt and dark blue denim and navy blue rubber shoes.

Amaya did not like the way her classmates were looking at Marx. But there is nothing she can do about it.

"You are here." She smiled at him.

Marx who was wearing a poker face suddenly smiled gently at Amaya. The moment Marx smiled, she heard the collected sighs and ’wows’ of her classmates.

"He is so handsome especially when he smiles. His blue eyes are even more dazzling."

"Amaya is so lucky. She always spends time with him."

Samantha looked at the pair as they walked away. What an outstanding man. His bearing was even better than her brother who was the crown prince. He has a powerful aura and people were automatically drawn to him. She should find a way to come closer to her. A glint passed across her eyes and a vicious smile formed on her face.
