Hansen Ruiz was also very good to her and doted on her, but compared to Glades Horne, he still fell short.

Rachel Bailey didn't mean that Hansen Ruiz wasn't good. Every man expressed love differently, and she wouldn't ask Ruiz to act like Glades did. She was just speaking her mind and felt happy that her friend had married such an exceptional man.

Glades Horne raised his eyes and fixed his gaze on Rachel Bailey for a minute without speaking.

Rachel Bailey knew Julia's favorite foods, which proved that Julia considered Rachel Bailey a close and caring friend.

"I'll think about that matter a bit more," Glades Horne said to Ruiz after a pause.

Ruiz suggested, "You can hire someone from another hospital."

After some thought, Glades Horne nodded and said solemnly, "Then go pick two for me. They must be very experienced, patient, and skilled. The safety of my Julia and our future little princess is in your hands now."

Hansen Ruiz smiled and nodded. Upon hearing Glades Horne's last sentence, he asked with a smile, "Have you had an ultrasound? Is it a girl?"

Glades Horne neither nodded nor shook his head.

They had indeed had an ultrasound, but he hadn't asked whether the baby was a boy or a girl.

He said it was a daughter for two reasons. Firstly, he genuinely liked the idea of having a daughter—though, of course, he would love a son just as much. Secondly, he constantly mentioned a daughter to alleviate Julia's psychological pressure. He wanted to let her know he preferred a daughter a little more, so she wouldn't worry that everyone might be unhappy if she had a girl.

His intentions were truly heartfelt.

Seeing that he didn't respond, Hansen Ruiz didn't pursue the matter further.

Turning his head, Ruiz then asked Rachel Bailey beside him, "Have you finished your tour? Let's go check out the other floors."

Rachel Bailey glanced at the time and spoke softly, "No need, it's getting late. Let's go buy some groceries and cook at home." Several days ago, Mrs. Alwin Ruiz had sent over a lot of food, ostensibly to please her son, Hansen. However, Hansen had sent her back to A City that same day. Ruiz knew his mother's intentions weren't good. He was also very angry about how she had spoken about Rachel Bailey. Consequently, he coldly sent his mother home that very day, causing Mrs. Alwin Ruiz to nearly explode with rage.

Rachel Bailey might not necessarily enjoy what Hansen Ruiz liked to eat, which is why she suggested they buy groceries and cook at home.

Hearing Rachel Bailey's words, Ruiz's gaze immediately softened. He stood up and casually said goodbye to Glades. Then, with his arm around Rachel Bailey, he turned and walked toward the exit. His heart was filled with happiness, but he said, "We could eat at a restaurant; you don't need to cook every day."

"Cooking for one's husband—I think that's a wife's duty."

Rachel Bailey's answer stirred a surge of tenderness in Glades Horne for Julia.

In his beloved wife's heart, did she also consider cooking for him a duty? Whatever it was, he liked it very much.

It was undeniable that since getting married, he seldom ate out.

Having a wife really changed a man!

No wonder many successful men rush home after a day's work; some even tie on an apron to help their wives in the kitchen. Regardless of their wives' cooking skills, simply knowing that their wives made the meal just for them makes them believe it's the tastiest delicacy in the world.

After Ruiz and Rachel Bailey left, Glades Horne looked at the time, then threw himself into his busy workload. He quickly processed documents, attempting to finish as soon as possible to get home.

They saw each other daily, lived together, and shared the same bed. Their love was profound. Yet, when they were briefly apart, he found he missed her terribly.

His feelings for her were deepening.

An hour later, Glades Horne temporarily wrapped up his morning work; he planned to deal with the rest in the afternoon. He was going to be at the office all day today. After this, it might be half a month or even a month before he sat there handling company affairs again.

But recently, he was busy setting up the hospital. Although not in the office, he was still very busy. He also had to attend some wine parties. Some he could refuse without a second thought. For others, he needed to arrange for key figures in the company to attend. For certain grand affairs involving government officials and media coverage, he would have to consider attending himself.

Of course, when attending these wine parties, he would always bring Julia along, but he would never let Julia drink. People outside also knew that Julia was pregnant and expressed understanding of his protective behavior.

Getting up and walking around his desk, Glades Horne was eager to leave.

He glanced at the snack cabinet by chance and walked over. He selected many room-temperature snacks that wouldn't adversely affect a pregnant woman, then found a large bag, put them into it, and left the CEO's Office carrying the large bag of snacks.

Pregnant women often have cravings, and Julia, like most women, enjoyed snacks. These snacks would be perfect for her to enjoy and pass the time.

As he passed by the secretary's desk, Glades Horne suddenly stopped. He turned to Secretary Yang and asked, "If your husband came home from work at noon and brought back your favorite food, would you be happy?"

Huh?

Secretary Yang looked astonished at first, then answered earnestly, "Of course, I'd be happy. But it's a pity my husband never brings anything home when he returns from work; it's always me buying him his favorite things. He hasn't bought anything I like to bring home since we got married." Her husband was a different man before and after marriage. Though he came home every day, helped with household chores, and took care of the children, his way of expressing affection had changed. He no longer made the effort to please her or make her laugh as he did before the wedding; she was no longer his sole focus.

Glades Horne didn't ask further and stepped into the elevator. He had received the answer he was looking for. He believed that Julia would be very happy to see him soon. He looked forward to her joyful expression and would do whatever it took to make her happy.

Only then did Secretary Yang notice the large bag he was carrying. If she wasn't mistaken, it contained snacks from the cabinet in the CEO's Office. Without needing to guess, Secretary Yang knew her boss's wife-pampering actions were ongoing. She envied the CEO's wife. Before and after marriage, the CEO always put his wife first, adoring and cherishing her consistently. Their love was as fresh as ever.
