Chapter 364: Chapter 364: For a Word of Truth from You

Early the next morning, Serena Sterling and Raine arrived at Aether Industries, that Black Horse Corp.

The car stopped in the parking lot, and Serena sent a message to Silas Hawthorne.

"I’ll be at Aether Industries this afternoon."

Aeon was very close to the Hawthorne Group, so Silas would often come over with a lunchbox to have lunch with her.

Although she had already told Silas yesterday that she would be at Aether Industries, she still needed to update him.

Because... there were too many people!

What she originally thought would be solved in the morning might take a long time.

Raine, sitting in the passenger seat, also felt overwhelmed looking at the long row of cars over there.

"Why are there so many people?" Raine muttered and kept searching for her tablet, "I clearly made an appointment with Aether yesterday!"

Serena glanced at the many cars over there.

"Maybe others made appointments too," Serena said.

Raine was still quite upset: "If they can’t accommodate so many people, they shouldn’t agree to it. What’s the point of having so many people come over!"

Listening to Raine’s grumbling, Serena chuckled.

Serena was already aware that Mr. Huxley of Aether Industries had done this on purpose.

As for the other party’s intentions, she temporarily didn’t understand.

"Let’s find a place to park first," Serena said.

Raine nodded, and the driver and bodyguard in front drove around to find a parking space.

Just after getting out of the car, Serena spotted a familiar car.

With a thought, she told Raine to wait and walked over.

"...Who knows what he’s up to, clearly had an appointment and now there’s a bunch of people!" A familiar voice came from inside.

Serena chuckled, reaching out to knock on the car door.

The other side rolled down the window.

Serena smiled and greeted, "Mr. Quentin, what a coincidence, you’re here too."

This was Lucas Quentin, Matriarch Quentin’s grandson who attended the grand opening dinner that day.

Seeing Serena, Lucas Quentin got out of the car, shrugged, and said, "Mr. Sheridan is here for the same thing?"

Serena didn’t avoid the topic, nodding.

"Hey, what a coincidence!" Lucas Quentin deliberately chuckled and said, "I just saw Thea Lloyd; she got tricked too."

"Is that so?" Serena said, glancing at Raine behind her. The two brought their secretaries to the building.

"I thought she was going to inherit the family business, looking into mutual funds and all that, not involved in this," Serena said with a laugh.

"I don’t get her," Lucas Quentin remarked, holding the elevator door for Serena, "You know, her family is different from the rest of us."

Serena just smiled nonchalantly.

As the elevator door dinged open, Serena saw another crowd of people.

Standing not far was Thea Lloyd, whom they had just mentioned; Serena greeted her, and Thea Lloyd smiled back.

"Morning," Serena said.

Thea Lloyd nodded, "Morning."

She gave Serena a deep look, smiling, "Serena, long time no see." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

"Indeed," Serena smiled, "long time no see."

Actually, it hadn’t been that long.

After Evan Sheridan passed, their meeting places were no longer social gatherings within the circle.

Plus, later, when she appeared, she was mostly known as Julian Lawson’s girlfriend or wife, so it was normal not to associate much.

It’s just...

Serena glanced at Thea Lloyd, who was also looking at her, and though they said nothing, there was a tacit understanding in their eyes.

Lucas Quentin had already run over to shout, and now the place was crowded with people everywhere.

They were all wholesale bosses, wholesale managers.

Finally, people from Aether Industries came out.

They loudly said, "Sorry, sorry, too many people made appointments, and in three days we’re having a meeting. Mr. Huxley thought it might be better for everyone to understand together and now it’s like this."

"Everyone, please come in," the person said, leading the way inside.

Serena and Thea Lloyd exchanged a look, both nodding, and followed along.

Inside was a large hall filled with various achievements.

The person led everyone over to look.

Even though there were many people, once inside, Mr. Huxley personally came over.

Mr. Huxley led other colleagues in the company, doing their best to explain and clarify for everyone.

This slightly eased everyone’s anger.

Aether did not drive anyone away either.

At this time, Mr. Huxley came to Serena and Thea Lloyd’s side.

"Sorry," Mr. Huxley said, guiding them aside, "It’s actually because of some issues that it turned out this way."

Serena asked curiously, "What’s going on?"

Mr. Huxley rolled his eyes and said, "I might not bother explaining to others, but for Mr. Lloyd... I’m really sorry, the new intern didn’t understand."

"I had told them there’d likely be a lot of people wanting to come recently. Ordinarily, just group them together, and for people like Mr. Sheridan and Mr. Lloyd, I would definitely host separately. Now it’s like this."

Mr. Huxley scratched his head, looking slightly troubled.

Lucas Quentin, who had been nearby, heard this and came over.

"Honestly, Brandon, you didn’t handle this well," Lucas Quentin said irritably.

Brandon Huxley wiped the sweat off his forehead, continually apologizing, "Seeing a bunch of people blocking the door today, I realized, but it was too late, so I had everyone come in and then found you individually."

"Mr. Lloyd, Mr. Quentin, Mr. Sheridan, I’ve prepared a separate meeting room, shall we go there now?" Brandon Huxley suggested, "You must believe me, I wouldn’t handle things this way unless I didn’t want to work."

And that was true to say.

Serena and Thea Lloyd exchanged a look, and Lucas Quentin glanced at Thea Lloyd.

Finally, Thea Lloyd nodded.

The three followed Brandon Huxley to another meeting room.

On the way, they happened to see someone scolding another person.

"Mr. Chaucer, I was wrong, I didn’t know..."

Inside the meeting room, someone immediately served tea.

Once Brandon closed the door, he breathed a sigh of relief.

He repeatedly bowed, very apologetic.

"Mr. Quentin, if the company can collaborate with the Quentin Family this time, I’d be immensely honored."

"Mr. Lloyd, if the company goes public later, we’d need your guidance."

"Mr. Sheridan, please send my regards to Mr. Hawthorne."

Those words made Serena feel a bit awkward.

But she didn’t say anything, merely looking over at Thea Lloyd.

"Alright, let’s skip the formalities," Lucas Quentin raised a hand to cut them off, "I think the three of us are here today to hear the truth from you."

Brandon nodded repeatedly, personally pouring tea for Lucas Quentin.

"What real capabilities do you have, hidden in the big meeting before?"

Lucas Quentin glanced at Serena and Thea Lloyd, then turned to Brandon, leaning in with an air of pressure, "You need to understand, if the Quentin Family is to collaborate, you need to have something real."

Thea Lloyd also nodded from the side, "Brandon, I hope you won’t try to deceive the Lloyd Family."
