Playtime's Over, CEO: She's Really Done With You-Chapter 365: Serena Sterling Observes in Secret
"Otherwise, you know the consequences." Thea Lloyd indeed had the strength to say this.
Serena Sterling merely smiled without saying a word.
It appeared as if she was there to hitch a ride.
Brandon Huxley wiped the sweat off his forehead and nodded, "That’s right, the reason we are so confident, firstly, is because we have made a solid technological breakthrough." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
"The second point hasn’t been confirmed yet, so I won’t speak on it, but it won’t be long before it’s settled, and you’ll all be informed."
Brandon smiled, then handed over the relevant materials to Serena and the other two.
"This is the latest technological breakthrough."
Brandon said, "Actually, I thought about it yesterday, that you would all come today to discuss it further, I just didn’t expect that intern..."
"Let’s not talk about him."
Serena flipped through the documents in her hand.
Aether had not only made significant progress in softening the exterior of the robots.
Furthermore, their future research direction intended to fine-tune classifications and connect with related AI libraries for training...
As Serena went through the documents, Brandon continued to speak.
"The second achievement we’ve made is this." After he finished explaining, Brandon stood up and confidently approached a door, pulling it open.
Behind the door was a robot.
He pressed a button, and the robot walked out.
"Jessica, serve tea," Brandon instructed the robot.
"Okay, Mr. Huxley." The robot poured tea in front of the three of them and presented the tray.
Lucas Quentin walked over, took the tea from the tray, and circled around the robot, observing continuously.
Serena and Thea Lloyd exchanged a glance, then also approached.
It was indeed well done, visibly more refined than what was taken to the conference.
Brandon demonstrated a few other things, all of which the robot Jessica performed well.
After chatting for a while, the three of them left the meeting room.
Brandon was already off to meet with other people as Serena and the others headed out.
When they reached an empty corridor, Lucas Quentin was the first to stop.
"What do you think?" Lucas asked, looking at Serena and Thea.
Serena thought about what she had just seen and with some deliberation said, "It looks like there’s some real skill involved."
Thea nodded as well and said, "It’s just that this time there were too many people at once, but it does look good."
Lucas finally said, "Seems like you’re thinking the same as I am. Aside from cramming too many people together which was a bit annoying, the stuff does look pretty good so far."
Serena looked over at the meeting room; Brandon was already leading others inside.
As if noticing Serena’s gaze, Brandon looked up and smiled, nodding at her.
Serena nodded back in acknowledgment.
Serena followed Lucas Quentin and Thea Lloyd as they exited. Lucas continued discussing the previous matters while Serena listened in and out, glancing at the surrounding offices.
Everyone seemed very busy.
People kept coming towards this direction.
All the way outside, eventually, they got out.
"What are your plans now?" Lucas stood still and asked.
Thea thought for a moment and said, "I’m here on behalf of my father to check things out, I’ll still have to see what he thinks afterward."
Then, she turned to Serena and asked, "What about you, Serena?"
Serena didn’t answer immediately.
She thought about it and, noticing both were looking at her, said, "I’ll consider this project. What do you think, Lucas?"
"I think it’s promising," Lucas replied, "Did you see that robot Jessica serving me tea? It actually does seem quite competent."
Serena and Thea both nodded.
After exchanging a few more pleasantries, they parted ways.
But Serena hadn’t gone far.
She stood to the side and waited.
Before long, Raine hurried over.
"Serena!" Raine was out of breath.
"No rush, catch your breath first," Serena said calmly.
Raine nodded, and after a moment, she started speaking, "I’ve done as you asked and observed that intern who was reprimanded."
Serena nodded, urging Raine to continue.
"The intern looked really upset, so after the supervisor left, I secretly asked him what was going on."
Raine said, "He told me he made a mistake which caused important people to be grouped together."
Serena nodded thoughtfully.
"He even showed me the message he initially received," Raine continued, "I saw it, and it indeed instructed him to group some ordinary people together to allow Mr. Huxley to engage with more significant guests."
Like how Lucas Quentin and Thea Lloyd didn’t seem too upset, it seems understandable.
Usually, companies solve such issues by only agreeing to more important people’s appointments.
But Brandon decided to group the less important ones together.
As they were leaving, Lucas Quentin had commented on this approach too.
"Perhaps he just didn’t want to offend anyone, Brandon seems quite tactful," Lucas had remarked.
Serena neither agreed nor disagreed.
She thought for a moment and then whispered a few words to Raine.
Raine nodded, "I’ll do it now."
Serena nodded.
She watched Raine leave and, after some thought, returned to her car.
She changed out of her high heels into flat shoes, put on a casual jacket, and a baseball cap, then stepped out again.
She went back into Aether.
Today, everything was open there.
So walking in posed no problem.
Especially with so many people around.
Serena blended back into the crowd, following along inside.
This time, without Lucas Quentin and Thea Lloyd by her side, she focused more intently on what was around her.
She made a round and then headed further inside.
She didn’t stop at every door but walked steadily as if just an ordinary person.
She bypassed the R&D department and eventually went into the restroom.
She sat waiting on the restroom toilet.
Who knows how long had passed.
Two people pushed the door open and came in.
After using the restroom, they chatted while washing their hands.
"Do you think what Brandon’s doing will work?" one person started.
"I don’t know, doesn’t he worry about them getting upset, so many people crowding at once," the other replied.
"No idea, anyway, if he succeeds, then..."
"Be careful,"
The other person interrupted and stopped the conversation.
"Alright, we’ll see how it goes then."
"Hmm."
They only exchanged a few words before leaving.
Serena sat for a while longer.
Afterward, several waves of people came in, but nothing of great interest was heard; Serena knew they must have been warned.
So, Serena came out.
Just like when she came earlier, she calmly walked out.
However, as she passed the R&D department, she glanced sideways with her peripheral vision.
She noticed someone seemed to be inputting some commands.
