Out of Control: Into Your Everything-Chapter 47: You Don’t Want Me to Come?
The gist is, the materials map was accidentally lost, and she thought Scarlett Shaw took it, leading to an unnecessary misunderstanding. She specifically explained this and, in the end, took the blame on herself for acting impulsively.
Her writing exuded an understanding and magnanimous quality.
The replies to Chloe Grant were also very considerate:
- It’s okay, Scarlett Shaw is also fine, she wouldn’t mind.
- Yes, and it’s true Scarlett left alone, so if an apology is needed, it should come from her.
Chloe Grant: It’s alright, such a small matter, let it pass.
Compared to these strange messages in the group, William Carson’s straightforward apology was much more pleasing.
Scarlett Shaw smiled at him and waved it off: "It’s alright, you see, Chloe Grant said it too, such a small matter, let it pass."
As for Chloe Grant’s two-faced behavior, Scarlett Shaw had only two words:
Boring.
Her time was precious, she needed to earn money to pay off debts, and be constantly prepared to deal with Julian Ford, so she naturally wouldn’t waste her energy being entangled in such things.
Over the weekend, Scarlett Shaw had a day off and went to the hospital to see her grandmother.
She previously used her grandmother’s treatment as a bargaining chip in her dealings with Julian Ford, mainly to guard against Ryan Ford causing trouble, but Julian Ford indeed kept his word. Not only did he provide the best medical conditions, but the doctors were also a top-notch team, offering meticulous care.
Grandmother looked much better now.
After all, at her age, if heart surgery could be avoided, it should be, and with good conditioning and rest, Scarlett Shaw was more at ease.
Looking at it this way, Julian Ford’s image was somewhat more towering and bright.
After visiting her grandmother, Scarlett Shaw took the elevator to leave and overheard two nurses talking.
"I heard the patient in that deluxe room trashed the room again?"
"Well, let them. They have money and can afford it."
"Why does someone so wealthy still lose their temper? Didn’t the doctor say they were fine except for needing rest?"
"You better not say too much; that person is..."
The elevator arrived on the first floor, and Scarlett Shaw didn’t continue listening to their chat. She walked out and was preparing to hail a taxi at the hospital entrance when she turned her head and noticed a tall, slender figure standing by the street.
Julian Ford, dressed in a black coat, was blending into the night. He had just finished a cigarette, stubbed it out in the roadside trash bin, and immediately took out another one.
Scarlett Shaw was a bit stunned.
In her memory, aside from lacking restraint in that aspect, in every other way, Julian Ford was disciplined and self-controlled. He rarely smoked, let alone one after another like this.
However, no matter how off he seemed, it had nothing to do with her.
He hadn’t summoned her, and today was the weekend; Scarlett Shaw wouldn’t bring trouble upon herself by volunteering to approach him.
A taxi with an empty sign approached, and Scarlett Shaw waved it down, got in, and shut the door. Just a second before the door closed, a large hand caught the car door’s edge, and Julian Ford pulled it open, looking at her calmly: "Move in."
Scarlett: "..."
This guy must be the reincarnation of the Second Brother from the Calabash Brothers; she had avoided him so far, yet he still spotted and caught her.
With the heavy traffic and crowds at the hospital entrance, Scarlett found it embarrassing to delay the taxi driver, so she moved to the side.
Julian Ford got in the car.
The driver asked Scarlett where she was heading.
Scarlett paused for two seconds and reported the address of the Cloud Mansion.
But as soon as she spoke, Julian Ford suddenly stared at her, "Where were you planning to go originally?" 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Scarlett didn’t answer.
Originally, she had an agreement with Yana Yarrow to meet that handsome guy with broad shoulders.
Even though her freedom in some aspects was restricted by Julian Ford, it’s not illegal to check out handsome guys in private. She still had that bit of boldness.
But that boldness was just that much.
Scarlett turned her face away, avoiding Julian Ford’s gaze, and pretended to be calm: "I’m going home."
Julian Ford: "Who are you fooling?"
"Really not lying, President Ford, we’ve worked together for so long, don’t you have at least that bit of trust in me?"
This time Scarlett decided to take the moral high ground first, using eyes full of grievance to excuse herself.
Unmoved, Julian Ford said, "Dressing up so well on the weekend to just visit the hospital and then go home? Don’t you think your words are full of holes?"
Scarlett: "..."
So what if they’re full of holes? It was meant to brush you off; it’s you who don’t know better.
Scarlett felt a lump stuck in her chest, wanting to retort, but seeing how this master was clearly in a bad mood, she was afraid of running into a bullet, but if she suppressed it and ended up with a lump, she’d be the one suffering.
The stuffiness in her chest turned into a long sigh.
Julian Ford glanced sideways at her, "Not convinced?"
Scarlett: "Convinced, absolutely, more than any old lady."
Julian Ford slightly raised the corner of his lips, the faint arc not only devoid of warmth, but instead gave Scarlett a chilling sense of eerie coldness.
She instinctively shrank towards the car window.
This shrinking, of course, caught Julian Ford’s attention.
However, the cold, calm eyes of the man just glanced at her, clearly intending not to settle things in the car, but with an air of reckoning later.
"To your place."
Julian Ford’s voice was flat but left no room for argument.
With reluctance, Scarlett provided the driver with a new address, and thirty minutes later, they got out of the car.
Julian Ford glanced at the chaotic and mixed neighborhood surrounding them, immediately frowning, "When did you move?"
Scarlett: "Just after you left last time."
Julian Ford: "Don’t want me to come?"
"Not at all, I just didn’t want Ryan Ford causing trouble."
Julian Ford’s steps paused briefly, a hint of a smile on his lips, "You’ve really put a lot of thought into him."
Scarlett fell silent at his words and remained so until they reached the elevator and the home door.
The new place Scarlett rented was a small loft apartment, with a bedroom upstairs and a tiny living room plus an open kitchen downstairs, totaling about thirty square meters, with only a two-meter ceiling. Julian Ford, tall and long-legged, made the space feel narrow and cramped.
Seeing Scarlett saying nothing, Julian Ford coldly spoke: "Cat got your tongue?"
Scarlett snorted softly, "Whatever I say is wrong, might as well stay silent."
Julian Ford: "Come here."
In such a small place, it was only a couple of steps away. Scarlett turned on the air conditioner, took off her coat, hung it up, and walked to Julian Ford.
He narrowed his eyes, pinching her chin, "I feel like your guts are getting fatter. Not only talking back, but now daring to give me attitude, hmm?"
Scarlett didn’t quite feel her guts were fat.
But her skin was definitely getting thicker.
"President Ford, how could that be talking back or giving attitude? I was just, reasonably expressing my emotions."
Scarlett had figured out some ways to handle Julian Ford. Beneath the tough exterior, this man could still be softened.
"I treat you as one of us since we’re so familiar and occasionally act a bit presumptuously. But deep down, there’s still the utmost respect for you."
