Chapter 666: Chapter 664: Dare to Love and Hate [Update 1]

"You’ll know when you get there! Get up quickly!" To pique Maya Spencer’s curiosity, Sophia Bennett deliberately played coy.

"I’m not going, I’ll meet them next time, I’m too tired." Maya hadn’t even slept for an hour before Sophia woke her up.

When she first woke up, if she hadn’t seen Sophia crying, Maya would definitely have been in a bad mood.

"Maya, don’t be lazy, get up, look who’s still lazing in bed this late, hurry and accompany me." Sophia persuaded while pulling Maya.

"Sophia, please, my legs are weak, how can I go out to meet people with you? And look at the marks on my arms, don’t you feel sorry for me?" Maya didn’t want to go out and be seen with the marks on her arms.

In such hot weather, wearing long clothes out would probably attract countless strange looks. Maya didn’t want to be a clown, for others to watch.

As for the "person" Sophia mentioned, if they were really meant to be, they’d have a chance to meet eventually, so there was no rush.

Listening to Maya’s excuses, Sophia furrowed her brows, squinted her eyes, sized Maya up, and said helplessly, "Never mind! I’ll take you to meet them next time you return to your uncle’s house."

"Bring them home? Sophia, have you really thought it through? Do you know them well enough?" Maya’s eyes widened in disbelief at the thought of Sophia bringing someone home.

She thought to herself, Sophia’s recovery is astonishingly fast! Even though she and Christopher Scott never officially dated, she pursued him for over a year, moving on really quickly.

Sophia’s ability to pick up and let go easily made Maya admire her, truly someone who loves and hates with equal intensity, cutting ties cleanly without any lingering feelings.

Sophia, noticing Maya’s dumbfounded look, curled her lips into a meaningful smile and said mysteriously, "I won’t tell you, you’ll see when you meet them next time."

Then, Sophia leisurely got up from Maya’s bed, raised her eyebrows, and said with a smile, "You rest first, I’m off to my date."

Immediately after, Maya watched as Sophia tiptoed around the obstacles on the floor and walked step by step out of the bedroom.

Not until the bedroom door closed with a "bang" did Maya take a deep breath, fall back onto the bed, cover her face with the quilt, and once again drift off to sleep.

After Sophia left Maya’s villa, she drove straight to the department store, where her date was already waiting for her.

In the car, she reflected on Maya’s earlier skepticism, a helpless smile on her lips. She understood the meaning behind Maya’s words; if she could really consider it so quickly and bring someone home, it would be great, but she still couldn’t forget about Christopher.

Even during dates, her mind wandered back to Christopher, unconsciously comparing her dates to him.

Knowing it’s not good yet unable to control her thoughts, unable to stop thinking about Christopher, unable to become less picky, and unable to stop looking for traces of Christopher in others.

Sophia never imagined that one day she would become like a madwoman, recklessly falling in love with a man who doesn’t love her back.

Thinking about her unreciprocated feelings, Sophia took a deep breath, bit her lip, and muttered to herself, "Sophia, you’ve let go, you must look forward, you’ll eventually meet someone right."

Previously, when Sophia gave up on a target, within 24 hours, she could dive into another relationship, chasing another man.

However, this time, she hadn’t seen Christopher for about ten days, yet her emotions hadn’t recovered, no one else caught her eye, and she hadn’t found anyone worth pursuing.

She thought perhaps from now on, she would live under Christopher’s shadow, troubled by him for life.

Even though it’s not good, she felt powerless, unable to control her thoughts.

Half an hour later, Sophia parked the car in the department store’s underground parking lot and hurriedly took the elevator to the meeting place, afraid of keeping her date waiting.

On the fourth floor elevator lobby of the department store, as soon as Sophia got off the elevator, she saw a sunny, handsome guy waiting for her.

The moment they saw each other, both broke into brilliant smiles and quickly walked toward each other.

Seeing Sophia come alone, the guy looked behind her and asked, "Sophia, where’s your sister? Didn’t you say you’d bring me to meet your sister?"

"Don’t mention that girl, she almost made me explode with anger." Sophia scratched her short hair, saying angrily.

"It’s okay, we can meet her next time." The guy was understanding, extending his big hand to ruffle Sophia’s hair, smiling comfortingly.

"Yeah, Theo, accompany me shopping then! Lately, I’ve been feeling down, always feeling hollow, life seems meaningless, so I can only pass the time by shopping." Sophia explained her mood while holding the guy’s arm.

Between them, it seemed like there was nothing they couldn’t talk about, like a sweet little couple.

"Alright, whatever you say, today whatever you like, I’ll buy it for you." The guy looked at Sophia with indulgence, his eyes so gentle, giving off a feeling of happiness.

So, Sophia wrapped her arm around the guy and started shopping. Just that over the past few days, she had been using shopping to numb herself, today she already didn’t know what to buy, so she kept eating as a way of venting.

She tried to numb herself, to use these little things to occupy her, leaving no time to think about Christopher, no time to allow herself to be sad.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the department store, Christopher Scott reluctantly followed behind Madam Scott, unable to muster any enthusiasm for anything around him.

These days, though he had moved from his apartment back to his parents’ villa, his heartbroken mood hadn’t fully recovered.

Being in crowded, noisy places only made him feel lonelier, involuntarily conjuring up images of Sophia.

At this moment, he realized that the woman had already rooted herself in his mind, impossible to erase.

He still remembered the time when Seven Murray had just gotten engaged, he was upset, but after Sophia began pestering him, his focus shifted inadvertently.

Without any warning, Sophia barged into his life, chasing Seven out of it.

Christopher clearly remembered during those days, Sophia pestered him all the time, and they had even established some rules; her three messages a day always arrived promptly.

Such behavior from Sophia sparked an intense aversion in Christopher; just thinking about dealing with Sophia would give him a headache.
