No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1826: Golden Lotus Side Story (3)
Just like in a cartoon, board a big ship and become the greatest "Adventurous Doggy Captain" in the world!
Big Round didn’t understand a single word.
Ginger jumped off its neck and asked, "Do you want to see Mia?"
Big Round’s ears twitched.
Ginger continued, "If we go out, you can see Mia."
Ah, love makes the heart restless—even for a dog.
Big Round immediately stood up, as if it had just seen its favorite toy. Like the wind, it dashed to the door and glanced back at Ginger.
It looked like it was saying, "Didn’t you say we’re going out? Why aren’t you coming?"
Ginger sighed in exasperation and walked over. "We are going out, but not through the front door."
Big Round tilted its head, not understanding. It stared at Ginger with its mouth open in a goofy grin, ears twitching again.
Ginger knew it was pointless to explain. "Just follow me, and keep quiet. Don’t let anyone notice us."
Big Round thought Ginger was inviting it to play a game. Excited, it started digging at the ground with its paws.
Ginger: "..."
It couldn’t shake the feeling that bringing this big, clueless dog along was going to cause trouble.
But there was no choice. How could it not take Big Round along, especially since it always got lost by itself?
It didn’t want a repeat of the last time when it wandered around for ages before finally finding Hannah. On the way, it was even chased by a stray cat... Just thinking about it was heartbreaking.
The villa’s estate was enormous. The swimming pool was located behind the house, and a glass greenhouse stood nearby, housing all kinds of delicate plants requiring meticulous care.
The flowers weren’t in bloom yet, so all one could see were lush green leaves at a glance.
Walking past the greenhouse, there was a massive banyan tree. Beneath the tree stood a swing, and on the swing lay a stuffed doll.
It was the same stuffed cat doll Big Round had forgotten to bring back the last time it played outside.
With its tail wagging wildly, Big Round ran over, grabbed the stuffed cat doll, and looked at Ginger. It clearly wanted to bring the doll as a gift for Mia.
Ginger refused without hesitation. "No way! I hate cats the most!"
Big Round let out a woeful whine, its round eyes staring at Ginger.
"Who said this is for my girlfriend! Why would I have a cat as my girlfriend!"
Ginger snorted twice in disdain.
And so, the pitiful pink cat doll was left abandoned in the grass.
Ginger slipped easily through a secret passage to get out. Even though it had gained a tiny bit of weight recently, it was still a small-sized dog at its core.
But Big Round wasn’t so lucky—it got its butt stuck.
"Awoo!"
Ginger paced back and forth anxiously outside. "I told you to eat less! Now look, you’re stuck! If I had known, I wouldn’t have brought you along!"
Big Round whimpered pitifully again.
Honestly, though, it really didn’t eat that much. It even shared its canned food and ham with Ginger, who would trade bones with him in return.
Big bones weren’t particularly tasty; they were mostly for chewing.
Ginger didn’t like them, but Big Round did, so Ginger always gave them to him.
"Oh, fine. Lucky for you, you’ve got such an awesome friend like me." There was no way Ginger would just leave Big Round behind.
With the exit blocked, Ginger had to find another way out.
Just then, some vines dropped conveniently nearby. For a small dog like Ginger, they were more than sturdy enough.
Ginger started climbing up with a determined "huff huff," making decent progress. It had made it halfway up when there was a sharp snap.
The vine broke in half, leaving Ginger dangling on the wall. It couldn’t climb up, and going down... was definitely too high to consider.
Ginger: "..." It had seriously underestimated its weight.
"Woof!"
