No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1825: Golden Lotus Side Story (2)
Big Round wagged its tail, circled around it once, and then clumsily imitated its pose by lying on its back on the carpet.
"Woof woof woof!"
"Of course I know I’m adorable."
"Woof woof woof!"
"Exactly! The world’s number one invincible adorable Goldie!"
"Woof!"
With all four paws raised in agreement!
Goldie started experimenting with its transformation potion—a bit of bone, a bit of canned meat, and a sausage... oh well, better add another sausage just to be safe.
After gobbling all that up, Goldie let out a satisfied burp, stretched out a paw to pat its belly, and said, "If this doesn’t work, I’ll just have to try again."
The coffee table was littered with wrappers of all sorts of food and several empty cans.
Aunt Lee had just finished tidying up the kitchen and stepped into the living room. Seeing this scene, she quickly called Hannah, "The little black dog ate too much and is now lying motionless on the couch—should we take it to the vet?"
Aunt Lee, being in her fifties, had two young grandchildren at home. She was experienced with taking care of people but had never cared for dogs before, so this was a first for her, and she was a bit flustered.
Hannah, however, was very calm. "Could you try tapping its head to see if it reacts?"
Goldie, who was now blissfully squinting after indulging in too many snacks, muttered, "Who? Who’s the little black dog? We don’t have a little black dog in this house!"
It lifted its head and glanced around. Just as Aunt Lee was about to reach out, she saw this movement, breathed a sigh of relief, and said over the phone to Hannah, "It’s moving, it’s moving. The dog’s fine—it really scared me."
Hannah replied, "Goldie tends to be a bit of a foodie. The next time this happens, just call its name—it’ll be fine."
"Alright, I’ll remember that." Aunt Lee hung up the phone, glanced again at Goldie, now lying down in a different position on the couch, shook her head and sighed, "I’ve never seen a dog eat like this—it even beats Mrs. Zhao’s Bloomy from our village."
Bloomy was a pig that lived an exceptionally leisurely life, eating until full, sleeping, and repeating the cycle daily.
At this rate, Goldie would soon turn into another Bloomy.
Aunt Lee went back to her chores.
Besides a few housekeepers, the household also employed a few gardeners to maintain the rose garden outside.
Soon, the roses would bloom again. With proper care now, the garden could stay vibrant all the way until autumn. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Big Round was currently lounging on a small path within the rose garden, soaking in the sunlight, lazily wagging its tail while keeping its eyes fixed on the gate.
It was wondering—when would Hannah come back?
Hannah had gone out on a date with Arnold Simmons. A new amusement park had just opened nearby, and there was a fireworks show tonight. They wouldn’t be back until evening.
Big Round stared, bored, at a falling leaf drifting from a tree overhead, its eyes following the movement.
After a while, Goldie, who had rested enough, came wobbling out of the house.
It strolled over to Big Round, glanced at the ground covered in leaves and dirt, and then tugged Big Round’s tail over to sit on it. "Hey Big Round, wanna go out and play?"
Lately, it had discovered a secret passage leading out of the yard—humans couldn’t use it, but it could.
Big Round wasn’t interested. Its eyes shifted toward Goldie, and it lazily let out a sigh.
"Don’t you want to see what the outside world is like? I’m telling you, it’s so much fun out there."
Goldie puffed out its chest proudly.
After all, it was a brave little dog that had adventured in the human world.
Since it couldn’t turn back into a human anytime soon, it might as well go explore.
