Chapter 1824: Chapter 1824: Golden Lotus Side Story (1)

Hannah has recently been obsessively practicing the "Become Human Method."

Her level of obsession is nearing the brink of madness—just short of fasting and drinking only dew water.

Of course, that might happen soon.

Ever since that gathering where Emily brought a gift for Big-Head Hannah, Hannah completely fell in love with the idea of dressing herself up.

With gifts from Emily and purchases from Hannah herself, Big-Head Hannah now owns an entire box of dog bow ties, dog scarves, and even personalized bone-shaped name tags.

To make it more convenient for Hannah to admire her own handsomeness, Hannah even placed a mirror in the dog room she shares with Emily.

And now, Hannah was standing in front of the mirror, staring at her increasingly rounded belly with concern.

"Could it really be like Arnold Simmons said, that I haven’t transformed successfully because I eat too much?"

"But my little belly is seriously so stylish—right?!"

"A chubby little pup is the cutest! Besides, I’ve got my curls. How could a dog not have a belly?"

Hannah was utterly distressed, pawing at the mirror, wiggling her bottom, twisting her little waist, then flicking her tail.

She was humming a cheerful little tune the whole time.

"Should I lose weight? Should I not? Should I?"

Big-Head popped out from a pile of plush toys, a goofy-looking pink cat perched on his head—Hannah’s ex-girlfriend.

"Woof! Woof! Woof!"

He barked several times at Hannah, beckoning her to come and play.

Recently, Arnold Simmons bought them lots of toys, so they wouldn’t stick to Hannah all day long.

Middle-of-the-night incidents of them running to scratch at the door of Hannah’s room had been very disruptive to the vibe.

Hannah was still busy admiring her beauty and didn’t even spare Big-Head a glance. "Go find Hannah to play with, don’t bother me."

Big-Head seemed to understand—or maybe didn’t—tilting his head left, then right, and discovering how much fun that was. He let out a "Awooooo!"

It was like he was saying, "Hey, my ears can move!"

He excitedly ran up to Hannah, bouncing here and there, trying to grab her attention.

Big-Head’s happiness was simple. He swayed clumsily like a big teddy bear, grinning uncontrollably.

Finally, Hannah glanced at him, withdrew her paw from the mirror, and sat properly upright. "Big-Head, do you want to become human?" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

Big-Head froze his head-shaking motion, tilting his head to look at her, not fully understanding, and barked twice.

What’s "human"?

Hannah smacked her lips a few times, the taste of canned meat at lunch suddenly coming to mind. "A human is... Hannah is human."

This was the best explanation her brain could conjure up.

Big-Head sprawled on the ground, chewing on a plastic duck that let out a "quack-quack," barking excitedly.

He adored Hannah.

Hannah never disliked him, fed him meat, and gave him pretty scarves.

He absolutely loved those scarves, and the little hats.

Little hats!

Big-Head suddenly jumped up, tossed aside the duck, and shoved his nose into his toy box, rummaging around. Then, he retrieved the black little top hat that Hannah had recently bought, carrying it over to Hannah and placing it in front of her.

He even used his paw to nudge it forward.

Hannah slapped her paw against her head. "I don’t want your hat."

Big-Head didn’t seem to understand. He barked once and nudged the hat forward again.

As if to say, "Wear it!"

To share your most cherished things with your best friend—that’s real love.

Hannah felt like she and Big-Head were on completely different wavelengths.

"You’re honestly the dumbest dog I’ve ever met."

She slumped to the ground, her round belly pressing uncomfortably against it, forcing her to roll over onto her back instead.
