Chapter 1654: Chapter 1654 Arnold Simmons Extra (20)

Arnold looked at her, his face saying "I knew it," with a slight smile on his lips and a lazy drawl, "Still saying you don’t like me?"

His tone was annoying and narcissistic.

Hannah pursed her lips tightly, gave him a glance, and then tapped the word "Translate" on her phone.

In less than a second, the book’s title, which was in a foreign language on the cover, was translated.

She lifted her phone in front of Arnold.

Arnold lazily shifted his gaze, still glancing at her from the corner of his eye, only sparing a cursory look at the translation on the phone screen.

He had already concluded that the seemingly innocent new classmate in front of him indeed was secretly...

On the phone screen, in bold letters, it read – I like you, until life extinguishes.

Above that, the foreign text matched the one on the book cover exactly.

So, it really was the book title.

Arnold’s expression froze for a moment, meeting the girl’s eyes, shining as if to say, "See, I told you it was just the book title, you didn’t believe me".

He felt like cursing.

Once his smile faded, Arnold’s face became cold and indifferent, his eyes distant, his detachment innate.

Hannah bit her lips and tugged at his sleeve, asking softly, "Are you angry again?"

Again?

Again!!!

The cool guy with a cold face, "No."

Just feeling a bit stupid.

Hannah tilted her head to look at the face under his hat; his thin lips pursed, not looking like he wasn’t angry.

She thought for a moment, and then comforted him, "A lot of people like you."

These words, as Arnold heard them, automatically translated to: Don’t be angry, a lot of people like you, it just happens that I’m not one of those many people.

He laughed in irritation, pulling at the corner of his mouth, "Who are ’a lot’? I wasn’t aware."

"A lot just..." Hannah struggled to explain, finally only able to say, "We’re in grade twelve now."

"So?" he challenged fearlessly.

The little girl seriously said, "We need to study hard."

Study hard?

Arnold subconsciously wanted to scoff, the rebellion deep in his bones almost showing, but when he met Hannah’s eyes, he suppressed the ridicule.

Annoyed, he ruffled Hannah’s hair, "Fine, good students study hard, I’m leaving now."

Hannah’s hair became messy, and she had to pat it down herself then hurried to keep up with his pace.

"What’s the matter, can’t bear to see me leave?" The young man said casually and coldly.

Hannah shook her head, pointing to the book in his hand, "You haven’t put it back yet."

Arnold looked down at it, his grip tightening on the book, his knuckles slightly protruding, his pale skin shining like jade, "Can’t I borrow it to take a look?"

He didn’t know why, but he just wanted to read it.

The book title sounded old-fashioned, but... quite pleasant.

Having said that, he turned and walked away, waving his hand without looking back, "I’m leaving, see you next time."

This time, Hannah didn’t follow him. She just leaned against the railing, watching him go down to the first floor.

The first floor was not crowded, only he was there at the book rental place.

The young man was tall and slightly thin but stood exceptionally still, like the white poplar tree in winter snow, standing tall among the wind and snow, unbending.

Hannah thought, he must frequent this library, unlike the delinquent persona he displayed.

Is Arnold a bad student?

She didn’t think so.

Even under the heavy night sky, there are still shining bright stars.
