Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Want to return to Prideful?

Lately, his company had been particularly busy, he was in the midst of negotiating a major deal. On the rare occasion he had some free time, he received an invitation from the principal of the film academy.

He vaguely remembered that Hannah Winter was also a student at the film academy, somehow, he accepted the invitation.

Listening to everyone’s teasing words, he found it amusing.

The person he had already kicked out from the company would never be brought back in on principle.

Despite her beauty, she just wasn’t qualified for the job.

He averted his gaze, a hint of exhaustion set in his eyes.

The words he uttered were somewhat harsh and indifferent, "The company isn’t short of people recently."

Someone joked, "Such a good seedling, if you miss out, you may not have the chance again."

George River remained silent, his face slightly cold, he felt a bit uncomfortable hearing this.

Even though George was the youngest among them, but due to his wealthy background, no one dared to offend him.

When he didn’t speak, the rest felt somewhat apprehensive, wondering if they had said something wrong.

Just then, Hannah turned around, perhaps having heard them discussing her. She smiled gently, "I am still young, and didn’t realize that this was Director River. His company, Prideful Entertainment, has always been the cream of the crop in the entertainment business. I might have aspired to work there, but I also know that my skills are not quite there yet. Who would dare to be so presumptuous?"

She continued speaking, her voice was soft, she helped to dissipate the awkward atmosphere, yet her gaze stayed on George intermittently.

A bit of longing and reluctance came through, it seemed that there was sadness hidden beneath her furrowed brows. Her gaze seemed to hold a myriad of unsaid affection.

George met her gaze, his face expressionless, his slightly elongating eyes continued to be cold with not a hint of emotion. He was treating her as if she was an unrelated person.

This was what he had always wanted, to treat Hannah as a stranger.

But his hand, hanging by his side, tightened slightly into a loose fist, a few seconds later he relaxed his grip.

Hannah was no longer the same person who used to only have eyes for him.

He could still sense her love for him, but it wasn’t as intense as it used to be. What was once love had been replaced by desolation and sorrow.

Perhaps, one day that love would truly disappear.

There were a total of eight people in charge of reception that day, basically everyone was assigned one-on-one welcoming and explanation.

Perhaps because of Hannah’s exceptional looks and well-mannered conduct, the director assigned George to her.

George merely frowned slightly but didn’t protest.

Hannah took George for a tour around the school’s auditorium on her own, deliberately taking a longer route.

After a while, the man’s calm voice came from behind her, "Hannah, do you still want to return to Prideful?"

She stopped, turned around, and looked at the man behind her with a smile, yet her tone was mournful, "Whether I want to return or not, isn’t that decision up to me."

"Moreover, weren’t you the one who drove me out of the company, George?"

Whenever she said his name, it always sounded extra soft, filled with affection and longing, always like this, never changing.

The man fell silent for a while, his voice cold and ruthless, "You brought this upon yourself."

He continued, "If you hadn’t targeted Tiffany out of jealousy, I might not have been so heartless."

Hannah said, "I was just jealous of her, jealous that she could get your love effortlessly."

At the end of her words, George’s figure was taken aback for a moment, while the coldness and aloofness in his eyes hadn’t dissipated, his impatience from before was gone.
