No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 102: The Broken Leg
The landscape print, rarely seen on qipao designs, was generally like an ink painting, simple yet grand, but few could don it without seeming bland. Yet after Hannah slipped into it, she looked like a timeless beauty just stepped out from an old, yellowed photograph.
With her head bowed, she was holding a mobile phone, tapping lightly on the screen. Soon, she had sent a message.
—— There’s a guest speaker at school today, and I got a new dress. It looks wonderful on me. Would you like to see it?
No reply.
Hannah pouted, furrowed her brows, saw a few people in the distance, and fervently tapped a message onto her phone.
——George River will be there too.
Soon after, she received a reply.
——Wait. If I find out you’re sneaking behind my back, flirting with others, I’ll break your legs.
This was the longest message Arnold Simmons has sent to Hannah in a long time.
Satisfied, a grin spread across her face, wickedly reminiscent of a cat that got the cream. She then headed towards the gathering crowd.
Several people who were talking enthusiastically with George suddenly fell silent, watching as the girl sauntered over to them.
George was perplexed by everyone’s behaviour. Lifting his head, all other emotions drained from his eyes, leaving only astonishment.
With eyebrows arched like distant mountains, eyes brimming with emotions, delicate features, and an elegant demeanor.
He pressed down his feelings, forcing himself to look away. His brow furrowed, unable to identify his mood.
This was their first formal encounter since that day. All the questions and words that he had been pressing down in his heart over time welled up again upon seeing her.
Yet, due to the setting, he stayed silent.
Upon reaching the group, Hannah nodded slightly. With a casual glance over George’s cold but handsome face, she apologized lightly, "Apologies for the delay. Thank you for waiting."
He noticed her glance and subconsciously furrowed his brows.
Her voice was sweet and charming, like the song of an oriole, who could find fault in that?
The crowd eagerly shaking their heads, "One never expected that today’s film academy would have such talent. It’s such a pity not to have this beauty act. How do you account for this, Director?"
The guests today were mostly high-ranking executives who have made donations to their school over the years, along with some well-known directors. The Director naturally couldn’t afford to offend them.
The Director glanced at Hannah out of the corner of his eye, stunned by her beauty, responded, "She’s still a child. Even a good jade needs to be carved. It is still early. Today’s children are restless and unwilling to study acting in-depth."
The director chuckled and nodded in agreement.
Turning his gaze to George, he shouldered in a flattering tone, "Director River, you own an entertainment company, wouldn’t you consider this promising talent?"
The director truly had Hannah in mind. Such a promising newcomer was not just about her acting skills. Her looks alone were enough for her to play any stunning character in a film. Even if her acting skills were lacking, her sheer presence would be astonishing enough.
Upon hearing this, George subconsciously turned his gaze towards Hannah, who was quietly standing side by side.
She was introducing the school library to another director with a soft voice, running her fingers through her soft, long hair. Some loose hair tendrils fell on her slender, fair shoulders, softly brushing over others’ hearts with every slight movement.
