"You know the least you can do to help yourself, is try not to starve yourself to death. I don’t think my granddaughter would appreciate seeing you this way." Seline advised Marya over dinner, as she kept on picking at her food in an annoying way that made her talk to her about it.
"I’m trying mother..I’m try..ing." Marya broke out in tears, which made Rosa almost roll her eyes to the point that if anyone saw her do this, it would be obvious that she clearly disliked what Marya was doing.
"I don’t remember raising you up to cry over difficult situations, rather than to think of solutions." Seline added, dropping her fork down on her plate as she looked briefly at Mario to see that his mind was somewhere else, she’s sure he didn’t even know that they were talking.
"That’s why you are here right. You are my solution, so please find her, and ease me of my pain." Marya begged, taking her handkerchief up to wipe her tears, her hands touched Mario’s under the table and that brought him back to reality as he looked at them.
"We both know that if she’s already taken by Lucifer, there’s nothing we can do but make peace with the gods to keep her safe and..." Seline tried making an important point known to Marya, but as always she’s clearheaded like her husband, who refused to believe that anything they were doing was real.
She only prayed that what is happening right now would open their eyes, to believe that there’s more to this world than what the mere eyes can see. But until that happens, she will do her best to find out where Narika is, and hope that she’s not in any danger.
But Marya was swift to cut into her words,"No mother, there’s nothing like making peace with the gods because if anything happens to her..."
"Language Marya. The gods are not to be blamed for your harsh decisions. You could have come back home when you started seeing the signs."
Marya laughed, throwing her head back as Mario tried to keep her from going out on a full blown argument with her mother. They were here to find solutions, and not add on top of their problems for crying out loud.
But Marya wasn’t having it," Even if i did, there’s no guarantee that she’s going to go back to being any normal human."
"We are anything but normal Marya, and you know that. I’m really sorry if Narika’s disappearance is still taking its toll on you, but i expect that by now, you and your husband should be ready for this." Seline said, before sighing loudly after Marya has nothing else to say.
"I will try my best tomorrow, Marya, but as of now i need to rest and be in one accord with my spirit. I can’t be stressed if am trying to take a walk down the underworld."
"She might not be in the underworld yet," Rosa chirped in," Who knows? She’s just a confused woman trying to understand what’s going on with her. So, I’m not sure that she’s with Lucifer yet, if he had found her. Marya would have seen him or his minions here on earth."
"Whichever one it is, I would suggest everyone to be on alert, and try as much as possible to know that this might not work."
"Then what about the ghost?" Marya asked all of a sudden, as Seline raised her brow up in confusion.
"Excuse me, but i don’t think i said anything about her meeting a ghost. She’s supposed to find her mate amongst Lucifer’s sons."
"Okay listen," Mario intervened since he was having a hard time wrapping his head around everything right here. " His name is Adrik Ivanov. My dad killed him, it’s been years but he started disturbing Narika about her being his bride." He added, his words making Rosa burst out into laughter since what he and hos wife was saying doesn’t make any sense.
"Well i am afraid, that’s nothing but an angry spirit trying to take revenge for what your father did, Son. The prophecy said nothing about a ghost. Are you sure that’s even true?"
"Mother, are now insinuating that Narika was lying?" Marya asked, a little bit of anger lacing her tone because that’s what exactly her mother was trying to say.
Who knows if she’s not trying to add more to their problem being here? Afterall, she is still angry about what Narika is, and only got hurt by Narika when she was a kid. Maybe the anger was still there?
Maybe Mario was right, they shouldn’t have involved her mother, but she’s family. So, it’s only right that she knows about what’s going on, since she’s a Seer and could help find her.
"Well, I wouldn’t exactly say that..."Seline said, locking eyes with Rosa who had a bored expression on her face and wanted everything to end.
"Then she’s not lying. You could see into his life tomorrow and tell us what exactly he wants with our girl." Mario said, his hands covering Marya’s other hand that was on the table.
He could confess he saw the way Rosa’s expression changed, looking at their entwined hands. But he cared less about her.
"Fine, tomorrow it is. But i must make one thing clear. If Narika is in Lucifer’s care, the only thing we can do is to pray that she remembers she has a family out there." Seline said, with a serious tone since Maria was having a hard time accepting this, but she would come around soon.
"What do you mean by that?" Mario asked, a little bit confused at her last statement. While Seline let out an exasperated sigh, before turning to look at both couples.
"Narina is nothing but a vessel for our ancestor Baram, to take a hold of and fulfill the prophecy. Whereas, what i am trying to say is that once she has possessed her body fully. I’m afraid the Narika you once knew as your daughter would be long gone, the new owner would be nothing but Baram, the first witch to exist in our family."
