Chapter 181: The purest incarnation

’Seth can be considered to be the will of the new world order. They seem to desire for me to enter the third world,’ Anon mused silently. ’Naturally, I won’t do something that he wants me to do, unless I thoroughly understand everything. On the other hand, attempting to transcend worlds right now will result in certain failure.’

’I also don’t intend to do that, but since Seth is visibly unwilling to see me do it, I won’t reveal that I have no intention to do it,’ Thinking this, Anon smiled. ’Due to the limitations of this world, the cosmic ruling, I can’t grow more powerful and my willpower can’t be nurtured further. But, what if it can undergo another metamorphosis?’

As Anon was lost in thought, he followed Seth and the envoy onto the crimson path.

.....

’It seems he isn’t interested in actually undergoing ascension,’ Seth deduced. ’Good. He is more focused on improving his willpower. Although the venture into another dimension, likely some inheritance opportunity, resulted in the recovery of his spirit, allowing him to perceive the opportunity for ascension, it also resulted in him actively refusing to focus on ascension.’

’The purest incarnation will be pleased,’ Seth concluded. ’The best scenario is for Anon to realize how impossible and meaningless attempting ascension is. Once he decides to enter the third world before attempting ascension, then nothing unexpected would take place.’

’Back then, why did I not assist him in entering the third world?’ Seth shook his head. ’No, the Human Lord hadn’t revealed the secrets of willpower to Anon. It was impossible for him to attempt ascension at that time so there was no reason for me to assist him like that. That damn Human Lord! It’s all his fault.’

.....

’Does he really think his son can succeed in spirit, flesh unity with a second world spirit?’ The envoy frowned deeply. ’No one has done it before. It’s only a theory. Earthly, Cosmic, and Transcendent...’

’There has never been another type of divine body. Oh Human Lord, do you really think another type exists? One specifically designed to hold all three operating principles?’ The envoy theorized. ’Or are you simply planning to accelerate the Lord’s games? Do you wish for Anon to fail his ascension so that detestable one can posses his body and bring forth the resonance?’ 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

’The Human Lord is scheming, and so too is that detestable one. Even the Great Infernal God has his own schemes,’ The envoy glanced at Anon. ’Only this young lord is ignorant. Dancing on the palms of incomprehensible existences. The chosen one? Not at all. This young lord is more cursed than any other.’

.....

"Oh, Great Infernal God," The purest incarnation knelt before a statue showcasing an indescribable scene. The purest incarnation held in his grasp, an inverted cross that was chained around his neck as he whispered, "This current instance is certainly a most dangerous time."

"The little lord’s spirit has healed," The purest incarnation sighed deeply. "His willpower has touched upon the cosmic ruling. At this moment, We are afraid that he subconsciously knows the way in attempting ascension. We are afraid that, before one even knows, in his ignorance, he attempts spirit, flesh unity, transcending worlds. We are afraid that, in his ignorance, he attempts spirit, flesh unity and fails, allowing that detestable fellow’s ploy to succeed, ushering the most dangerous game earlier than predicted, pushing Us onto the backfoot."

There was a moment of silence that followed.

Then the purest incarnation chuckled darkly.

"The Human Lord’s scheme is really good," The purest incarnation praised. "Nothing really matters to him. Once the little lord attempts spirit, flesh unity, whether he transcends, or he fails, one creates a dire situation for Us, and the other almost nullifies Our chances of success in the greater game."

"Indeed," The purest incarnation realized. "If We truly can’t change these outcomes, then between these two unacceptable paths, one path is slightly less unacceptable."

.....

Hidden behind an invisible veil, a world with a crimson sun torn in half resided. This world was, in truth, merely a city. A city larger than some countries, large enough to hold hundreds of millions of humans.

In truth, of the hundreds of millions, more than ninety-nine percent were considered commoners, however because commoners can ascend the ranks and become servants at any time, this city rarely suffered from the clutches of foolish entitled children.

The royal district was not the center of the city.

In fact, there was even an incarnation assigned by the purest incarnation to the identity of City Lord, overseeing this city, however even the City Lord’s Manor wasn’t the core of this city.

In the very center of the city...

Suddenly, a crack formed in the sky, and like shattered glass, space solidified and crumbled as a crimson path extended.

Three figures flew out from another world, stepping into this one.

"The City of Order holds all six hundred and sixty-six million believers of the Great Infernal God." The envoy explained. "For as long as the Lost Lands existed, the City of Order also existed, inhabited by those who were abandoned by the Human Lord."

"Oh," Anon smiled upon hearing this. "You dare to badmouth the Supreme Commander?"

"Hehe," Seth chimed in. "Anon, you overestimate the Human Lord’s abilities. Earth is much more unique than other life planets. Even though the Supreme Commander is the Lord of Earth, his absolute control is not nearly as potent in the Lost Lands, much less in the City of Order where the purest incarnation resides."

Seth paused with a thoughtful look before saying, "Of course, if his true body was present, then it would be a different story."

"True body?" Anon suddenly frowned. ’Does this have something to do with True Father?’

However, before he could beckon for an answer, the envoy suddenly spoke, "We’ve arrived."

Anon silently shifted his gaze.

In the very center of this city was a simple cathedral.

’As expected,’ Anon sighed upon seeing the inverted cross.

In fact, he also had the memories of the serial killer originating from the old world. ’This guy had very little concept of religion. Maybe if he did, he’d have suppressed his strange fetish involving children.’

’However, that’s besides the point,’ Anon smiled faintly. ’In the old world, wasn’t this one of the symbols related to that little guy called satan and his minions? This symbol must be somewhat offensive in the world of old, right?’

"Prepare to have your mind blown, dear young lord." The envoy suddenly smiled and turned to Anon, glancing at Seth who did not hide the emotions in his eyes, before returning his gaze to the simple-looking cathedral in the center of the city.

The cathedral was encompassed by high walls and a lofty crimson gate. Guardians stood on either side of the gate.

They had white hair and were clearly servants, rather than saints.

They did not resemble Seth.

Upon seeing the two saints and the young man that lacked crimson eyes, the guardians were visibly shocked but did not dare to pry, instead bowing.

The crimson gates opened, allowing the trio to step onto a paved pathway that lead to the doors of the cathedral.

Painted in a mixture of white and black, the cathedral truly appeared simple. However, as the trio drew closer, the doors to the cathedral opened, and a figure stepped out.

This figure had a visage of a transcendent being, untainted by the mortal world. He had white hair that fell like a waterfall down his back, however his reddening hair was not as prominent as the purest incarnation.

Though his features were similar to Seth, he was dressed in white garments.

Even Anon knew that, at least from his encounter with the purest incarnation via the wraiths, the latter predominantly wore a black cassock.

Beyond the figure, the scene behind the cathedral’s doors was a mystery, obscured beyond recognition, as if containing an entirely unique world within.

"Welcome," the saint in white garments was transcendent in visage.

The every movement of his lips, the little glances he took, even though he had such a similar appearance to Seth, he was visibly more beautiful than both Seth and the envoy.

Indeed, only beautiful could describe him.

Anon could not help but admit, compared to this saintly figure, he was indeed lacking appearance wise.

However, at the same time, one could say that from another perspective, Anon was more attractive to the opposite sex.

After all, this saint was simply too effeminate.

Neither fully male, nor fully female, some women would not desire him in front of a charming yet masculine man.

Anon’s appearance was anywhere between exceptionally attractive, to otherworldly. It all depended on perspective, after all, beauty was inherently subjective.

Anyways...

"The purest incarnation is eagerly awaiting your arrival, young lord." Saying so, his crimson eyes reluctantly drifted away from Anon and toward the other two.

Seth sighed and stepped to the side, and the envoy’s movements were similar, allowing Anon who stood a footstep behind them to brush past them.

Seeing this, the saint adorned in white garments revealed a radiant smile, a dazzling smile.

"The purest incarnation will see the both of you after," the saint mentioned before turning to Anon, gently signaling toward him. "Follow me."

In doing so, Anon stepped into the obscure space between the cathedral doors.

Indeed, the cathedral appeared very simple from the outside, but upon stepping in, it was an entire world.

"The Inverted Cathedral can hold up to fifty million believers with relative ease. However, during sermons involving the purest incarnation, even the Inverted Cathedral must be slightly augmented to hold the number of individuals that enter." The saint’s words made Anon sigh with undisguised amazement.

Watching around, Anon could not help but be marveled. From outside, it seemed like a simple cathedral not to different from ones in the old world, however when he stepped in, nothing besides an entirely new world could describe it.

The saint led Anon on a crimson isle, and with each step, they crossed vast distances.

Not long after, they arrived besides the very first row.

There were multiple saints sitting on either sides of the isle, however light pierced through the pictured windows, shinning solely on a single figure.

He was, in all intents and purposes, the very center of this world.

Kneeling toward a statue that detailed an indescribable event, this figure’s head was bowed, and his white hair which was noticeably reddening, covered his face.

His voice was delicate and gentle, pleasurable to listen to.

"We finally meet, dear Anon."
