My Young Husband, The Assasin-Chapter 44: Jealousy
Chapter 44 - Jealousy
Renji's eyes widened in shock as he read the engagement invitation for Hinami. The person chosen as her fiancé was someone he had never expected, leaving him utterly stunned. He couldn't fathom Raiden's heartless and ruthless decision to pair Hinami Hoshino, who had just graduated from high school, with Hiroshi Okada, a cunning and deceitful old man, all to strengthen business connections.
It was utterly foolish and brainless of Raiden to sacrifice Hinami for his selfish interests. If Aira were to find out about this, she would undoubtedly be heartbroken and worry about Hinami's fate, which could negatively affect her health and the baby's.
Renji kept this information from Aira, not revealing who Hiroshi Okada was. He also shared this issue with Tetsuya, hoping that Tetsuya might have a solution or an idea.
Tetsuya's reaction was explosive. He even cursed Hiroshi for his lack of self-awareness in wanting to marry a young girl who could easily be considered his granddaughter.
Renji sighed heavily, leaning back in his chair to relax. "Problem after problem keeps coming, making my head spin," Renji groaned.
"If you don't want any more problems, just die," Tetsuya blurted out without thinking, provoking Renji's anger.
"Are you trying to pick a fight?" Renji glared sharply.
"Sure, but let's do it on the bed so it won't hurt," Tetsuya teased, his tone playful.
Renji's hand shot out, delivering a hard smack to Tetsuya's head to help him think more clearly.
"Ouch!" Tetsuya winced, rubbing his head.
"Even at a time like this, you're still joking. If you want to fight on the bed, I'll have Keiko accompany you until you're satisfied," Renji retorted.
"No, thank you. I'd rather wrestle a bear than deal with that Medusa woman," Tetsuya shuddered at the thought of Keiko's face, which, for some reason, was more terrifying than any ghost.
Renji stared directly at Tetsuya. "Do you not like women anymore?" he asked, both worried and sad.
"What do you think?" Tetsuya replied with a meaningful smile.
Renji sighed quickly and shook his head. "You're something, turning the question back on me. Fine, I'll test whether you've gone off the rails."
"What do you mean by that, Renji?"
Renji gave Tetsuya a meaningful look. "Try imagining Keiko without any clothes on," Renji suddenly requested, shocking Tetsuya half to death.
"Why her? Find someone else," Tetsuya protested, clearly displeased.
"How about Dr. Aya?" Renji offered another option.
"Do you want me to be killed by Tsuchihebi for imagining something indecent about his wife? Pick someone else."
Renji thought for a moment.
"How about Issei?" Renji asked with a lazy expression.
"Imagining Issei-chan's body..." Tetsuya smiled shyly, like a bashful girl.
Tetsuya's cheeks flushed red as he imagined the long-haired blonde young man standing before him without a single piece of clothing. "Issei-chan's body is so beau-..."
Suddenly, Tetsuya's head was struck hard with a wooden tray by someone from behind—Saki. No one in the world except Fujimoto Saki would dare to hit Tetsuya Ishikawa or scold him so harshly.
"You pervert! How dare you imagine such things about Issei-kun!" Saki yelled, having secretly overheard the conversation between the two Ishikawa men from a distance.
"That hurts, pony girl!" Tetsuya groaned, gently rubbing the back of his head, which was slightly swollen from the hit.
If it weren't for Saki Fujimoto, who had hit him, Tetsuya would have retaliated tenfold, regardless of whether it was a woman or a child. But when it came to Saki, Tetsuya could only grimace in pain without intending to fight back or get angry.
"I'll make your head look like a rising sun so you can think clearly and receive enlightenment from the gods," Saki threatened, gripping Tetsuya's hair tightly.
"That hurts, pony girl!" Tetsuya winced in pain, trying to save his head from Saki's fury.
A dramatic fight scene unfolded between the cat and the dog, with Tetsuya unable to fight back, only grimacing in pain as Saki pulled his hair.
Renji sipped his coffee slowly, sitting back comfortably on the bench, enjoying the spectacle of the two sworn enemies fighting before his eyes. He had no intention of intervening or defending Tetsuya.
Renji had known Saki was behind Tetsuya all along, overhearing their conversation. He had deliberately tested Tetsuya by bringing up Issei, knowing Tetsuya's reaction would be annoying. But afterwards, the entertaining scene unfolded, as if Saki was venting her anger and frustration on Tetsuya.
'Pull harder, Saki. If necessary, make him bald. It was like weeding,' Renji thought shamelessly while deriving pleasure from Tetsuya's earthquake.
Keiko watched this scene, standing frozen in sadness. They say there's some truth to what Tetsuya noted earlier—that there's something special between Tetsuya and Saki. Saki was treated differently from any other woman in his life, which is why Keiko thought this way.
Tetsuya was well-known among high-class women as a friendly and kind man, yet difficult to approach. Not only that, he was also infamous for not hesitating to hit anyone, regardless of gender, if they were considered enemies or disturbed him. Tetsuya was like a beautiful rose but with sharp thorns.
"They're fighting again," Aira sighed.
"Do you mean Young Master Tetsuya and that woman often fight?" Keiko asked, shocked, looking at Aira.
"That's right. Sometimes, Tetsuya starts the fights first. Every time he comes, he teases Saki-chan as if he never gets tired of arguing with her," Aira explained, unaware that her words made the long-haired purple-haired woman fall silent, staring enviously at Saki.

Aira's cheeks were wet with tears, accompanied by soft sobs that added to the dramatic atmosphere in the living room. Renji could only sit in silence, confused by Aira's state.
It all started about 10 minutes ago when Renji left the room to attend a school costume party. The party was to celebrate Halloween, which fell on October 31st, coinciding with this Saturday. This year, the school specifically invited students from other schools to participate in getting to know each other, making new friends, and strengthening inter-school relationships.
Usually, Renji dressed casually, and wherever he went with Aira, he never looked as polished as he did tonight, which made Aira suspicious and even jealous of him. After all, it was a costume event, so naturally, he would wear something unusual and different from his usual attire. Moreover, Renji chose to cosplay as a popular vampire character in anime.
At first, Aira asked softly as she watched the dark-eyed young man walk toward her. Unaware of anything unusual, Renji answered honestly, saying he was going to a school costume party held at a luxury hotel.
Feeling unsatisfied and increasingly jealous, Aira asked again if many girls would be attending. Still unsuspecting and oblivious to Aira's changing demeanour, Renji casually replied that this costume party was a joint event with several schools, meaning there would be many girls dressed in cute or sexy costumes to catch Renji's attention.
Besides the hormonal changes from her pregnancy, Aira was also experiencing prenatal depression, which made her emotions unstable and often overly anxious, like now.
Aira forbade Renji from attending the party and asked him to stay home. Usually, Renji didn't talk much and would comply with Aira's wishes, but this time, he refused, insisting on going.
An argument broke out. After more than half a year of marriage, this was the first time they had a serious fight. No matter the situation, Renji would typically give in, but tonight was different.
Aira's tears burst, and she sobbed sadly after Renji snapped at her.
Renji's emotions had also been unstable lately, not because of hormones but due to the many things weighing on his mind—things Aira knew nothing about. The burden on Renji's shoulders was heavy, but he never showed his exhaustion to Aira or shared his problems. He swallowed everything, bearing it all alone because he didn't want Aira to worry, fearing it might affect her health and the baby.
If only Aira knew how much responsibility Renji was carrying—managing the large company inherited from his father, attending high school, and now being a husband and soon-to-be father. It was a lot for someone so young, but Renji's strong mentality, shaped by his strict upbringing, kept him from breaking. Aira's presence by his side gave him the strength to keep going.
Aira's fingers nervously crumpled her nightgown, creating random creases, as soft sobs escaped her lips, which were coated with cherry-flavoured lip balm.
Renji sighed deeply and squatted down in front of Aira. He grasped her hands and held them tenderly. He looked sorrowfully at Aira's tear-streaked face and said, "I'm sorry, my wife," with sadness.
Tears still trickled down Aira's face, and her shoulders trembled. Her gentle sobbing echoed in Renji's ears, tearing his heart, but she didn't answer.
"Please, honey, stop crying. I apologize," Renji said softly as he dabbed at Aira's damp cheeks.
A deep sadness crept into Renji's heart as he watched Aira cry, making him feel guilty. But he never meant to hurt her.
Aira's nose and eyes were red from crying hysterically for over five minutes, as if she were at a funeral, even though their argument had been minor and involved no physical violence. However, Renji had raised his voice earlier.
"I-I know that..." Aira sobbed, trying to express her feelings.
"Don't say anything. It's my fault, and I'm sorry," Renji said, pulling Aira into his embrace. Thankfully, she didn't resist.
"As a replacement, tomorrow I'll host a Halloween party at Asahi Café, and you can wear any costume you want," Renji said, gently rubbing Aira's delicate back.
"Really?" Aira asked, wanting to make sure Renji wasn't lying to make her feel better.
"Of course. What costume do you want to wear? I'll have Fujita prepare it," Renji replied confidently, willing to do anything to make Aira smile and stop crying.
Aira pulled away from the hug but still held onto Renji's arm. "I want us to be a couple like Romeo and Juliet," she said between sobs.
Renji thought for a moment. "They were a couple, but their story ended tragically. How about Cinderella instead? You can be Cinderella, and I'll be the Prince," Renji suggested.
"But there's no princess with a chubby body and a big belly," Aira said sadly, looking down at her stomach.
"Even so, you'll always be the most beautiful woman in my eyes," Renji said, pinching Aira's nose playfully before pulling her back into a warm embrace.
"You're such a smooth talker," Aira snorted shyly, lightly hitting Renji's chest.
"Are you still mad?"
"No, but are you still attending the school costume party?" Aira looked at Renji sadly, not wanting to be left alone at home.
"I'm sorry, honey, but I have to go. I'm responsible as the head of the event committee, and the school has entrusted me with organizing the inter-school costume party. So, please understand this time," Renji pleaded, hoping Aira wouldn't be upset.

"Fine, you can go, but don't even glance at other girls, even if I'm not there to watch you," Aira said, her possessive side showing.
"Understood, my wife," Renji replied happily, pleased to see his wife jealous.
