My Possessive CEO: Trembling in His Arms-Chapter 194: "Aren’t You Tired of Me Yet?
Years later, when Renee thought back to her senior year of college, she could only describe it with four words: chaos and turmoil.
After returning from Veridia, both Renee and Jack became busy with their own affairs.
Renee threw herself wholeheartedly into her studies, preparing for the upcoming final exams.
Since Jack captured the Southeast Asian market, he frequently needed to be there to oversee the branch company’s business expansion and maintain stability, often staying there for at least a week, sometimes even over half a month.
On the day Renee finished her exams, Jack happened to return.
When she got the call, Renee laughed and asked, "Did you time your return? I just finished my exams and you’re back."
Jack chuckled softly, "I wanted to come back yesterday, but something came up and delayed me."
Renee: "I wasn’t blaming you."
Jack said in a low voice, "I missed you and wanted to come back to see you sooner."
Renee’s face heated up, and she said with a contradicting heart, "What’s there to miss? We’ve been together two years, aren’t you tired yet?"
After saying that, Renee heard the sound of a lighter striking, followed by Jack’s deep, hoarse laugh.
"Are you really not tired? Don’t you know?"
Renee’s face got even hotter, but she called out loudly, "I don’t know. Only you would know."
In a lazy tone, Jack let out another low laugh, "Whether I’m tired or not, you’ll know tonight."
"Shameless," Renee cursed at him and quickly hung up the phone.
But before it was even evening, once Jack returned home, he carried Renee straight to the bathroom.
Their intense, heated kiss was a storm consuming her.
Renee sat on the edge of the sink, her head tilted back, enduring his passionate kiss.
With one hand supporting the back of her head, Jack lifted one of her legs, holding her tightly.
After a long, lingering kiss, Jack pulled back, resting his forehead against hers, panting as he asked, "Did you miss me?"
Renee bit her lip, nodded gently, her voice soft and nasal, "I missed you."
Jack chuckled deeply, "I missed you too."
With that, he kissed her again, this time deeper.
Beneath the steamy showerhead, Renee faced the wet tile wall, her hands pressed against it, biting her lips to suppress sounds she found too embarrassing.
Jack held her from behind, his large hands gripping her slender, soft waist, his lips trailing up her ear, kissing her ear lobe.
...
Afterward, Renee lay flat, covering her face with the blanket.
Jack crouched by the bed, gently applying ointment on her.
Renee’s face under the covers was blazing hot.
Jack chuckled, intending to tease her, but then the phone placed on the small table at the foot of the bed rang.
"Yes, speak." He stood up to take the call, speaking as he walked to the balcony.
Renee dressed and sat in front of the dressing mirror, looking at her still flushed face, memories of earlier flashing in her mind, making her face turn even redder.
Just before reaching the peak, Jack deliberately slowed down, panting heavily against her neck, asking, "Do you know now?"
Renee, strung up and down, felt restless as if a cat was scratching her heart, clinging to his neck, whimpering and crying.
Jack gently held her, kissing the corner of her wet eyes, his voice low and hoarse, "Do you know if I’m tired now?"
"I know." Renee lifted her head to kiss him, kissing his lips, then his ear, her red lips rubbing against his ear lobe, coquettishly saying, "Stop talking, hurry and..."
Jack’s hand on her waist suddenly tightened, his voice deep and steady, "I’ll give it to you, I’ll give it all to you, turn you into a cream puff, okay?"
"What are you thinking about?"
Jack’s voice suddenly sounded from behind.
Renee snapped back to reality, quickly covering her burning face with her hands, avoiding his gaze, "No, nothing."
Jack looked at her bright red earlobe, leaned down with a smile, holding her shoulders casually, "Reliving it?"
Exposed, Renee turned angry out of embarrassment, turned around, and punched him, "You’re talking nonsense. I wasn’t reliving anything!"
Jack caught her hand, teasing her on purpose, "Why are you so excited?"
Renee rolled her eyes at him, "Where am I excited? I’m not excited!"
Jack stopped there, afraid to continue teasing her for fear of making her cry.
"Okay, okay, the darling isn’t excited, I’m the one that’s excited." He smiled indulgently and pulled her hand to kiss it.
Renee pushed him a bit, "I need to comb my hair, don’t get in the way."
Jack picked up the sandalwood comb on the table, clumsily running it through her hair, making a mess of it.
Renee laughed and snatched the comb from his hand, "If you don’t know how to comb hair, don’t just do it randomly."
Jack kissed her fair, soft cheek, "I’ll braid it for you tonight."
Renee gave him a playful look, "What’s there to braid at night? Who braids their hair at night?"
Jack hugged her from behind, his long fingers pointing downward, "Braid here."
Renee: "..."
Realizing Jack was being naughty again, Renee grabbed a detangling brush to hit him.
Jack Yates dodged, and she missed.
So Renee Winslow regrettably said, "You know you’re a needle too."
"A needle?" Jack squinted and smiled, and then scooped her up onto the bed.
"Ah." Renee cried out, trying to get up.
Jack pinned her leg with one hand and her nape with the other, his voice sharp, "Stay put."
After a bout of struggling, it was already dusk.
Renee’s legs trembled as she walked, cursing Jack Yates eighteen times in her heart!
Jack took Renee to a private restaurant, tucked away in an elegant spot in The East Second Ring.
After dinner, Renee coyly held Jack’s hand, "I’ve never watched the flag-raising. How about we stay out tonight at The Meridian Square to watch it?"
Jack burst out laughing, "Trying to torture your man?"
Renee instantly let go of his hand, "Then you go back yourself. I’ll watch alone."
Seeing her angry pout, Jack wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into his embrace, "You want to see the flag raising? We don’t have to stupidly wait at the square all night."
Then Renee followed Jack to a courtyard where they could hear the morning bell and evening drum, and from the second floor, they could view the flag-raising.
The Five-starred Red Flag rose slowly, and Jack embraced Renee from behind, kissing her again and again on the cheek.
Renee lifted her small face, watching the red flag rise with the sunrise, her heart suddenly aflame.
"Jack." She turned her head to look at him, tiptoeing to kiss his chin, "I love you."
Jack had once tried every method to force her to say those three words, but Renee stubbornly refused.
Yet, on this ordinary summer morning, with the early sun rising and the flag fluttering, she stood in the light of dawn, smiling gently and meekly whispering "I love you" to him.
Jack’s heart pounded rapidly, pounding to the point it hurt, as if it were about to leap out of his chest.
He lowered his gaze at the tender, charming girl before him, his Adam’s apple rolling swiftly, suddenly smiling, his laughter low and slightly trembling.
"Renee." Jack lifted a hand to gently stroke her face, "I also..."
Before he could finish, Jack’s phone rang. He turned to the house to answer it.
Renee leaned against the railing, arms spread wide, feeling the cool breeze of the summer morning.
"Renee." Jack suddenly called her name seriously, "I need to return to the old house for something. Langdon will come to pick you up shortly."
Langdon was the driver Jack had recently arranged for her.
Renee obediently agreed, "Okay, you go ahead."
Jack patted her head, "I probably won’t be back for a few days."
In the past, Renee wouldn’t ask why, but this time she uncharacteristically asked, "Did something happen?"
Jack’s tone was serious, "Old Mr. Yates is not going to make it."
Renee: "..."
After a moment of silence, Renee hurriedly urged him, "You should go back quickly."
Jack hurried home, and everyone in The Yates Family gathered except for Caleb Yates who hadn’t returned yet.
Russell Yates stood with a stern face, saying coldly, "Your grandfather has something to say to you. come quickly."
Jack walked to the bedside where Old Mr. Yates extended his withered hand, grabbing Jack’s wrist, and sat up with a sudden clarity, speaking clearly, "Felix, promise your grandfather, break up with that student."
Jack’s face was tense, his Adam’s apple moving, saying nothing.
Old Mr. Yates gripped his wrist firmly, "Felix, promise your grandfather, break up with her."
Then, Old Mr. Yates coughed forcefully.
"Promise, Felix, you must promise!"
"Third, promise him, quickly promise your grandfather!"
Old Mr. Yates’ eyes bulged, wheezing and clinging to his last breath, waiting for Jack’s answer.
Everyone else also looked at Jack, awaiting his reply.
Jack’s hand hung at his side, clenched tightly, his jaw set hard.
Hank Yates anxiously hit Jack’s back, "Third, why are you hesitating? Quickly promise your grandfather!"
Still, Jack said nothing, pressing his tongue hard against his teeth, his jawline tensed and then softened.
Old Mr. Yates suddenly collapsed, laying rigid on the bed, his eyes still wide open.
"Dad!" Russell Yates shouted, rushing to the bed, gripping Old Mr. Yates’ hand.
Ronald Yates and Mandy Yates also cried, rushing to the bed, each calling out "Dad."
"Grandpa!" Hank cried, kneeling at the bedside. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Everyone else knelt down too.
Except for Jack, who still stood with his head bowed by the bed.
Russell Yates suddenly turned around, giving him a fierce kick, followed by slapping him hard across the face, leaving a clear handprint, even breaking the corner of his mouth.
"Get out!" Russell Yates roared, "Get out of here!"
Hank grabbed Jack’s arm, "Third, promise him, quickly promise your grandfather!"
