Half-Hearted: Mr. Sinclair, Stop the Act!-Chapter 230: Exactly the Same
The moment the hand loosened from her face, Vivian Nash felt like she could breathe a lot easier.
But it hurt so much.
It really hurt so much.
It seemed even more painful than the night of New Year’s Eve when Caleb Sinclair pushed her, causing a miscarriage.
It was as if her whole body had been run over by a heavy truck.
Sienna Monroe really seemed to have gone for the kill just now; if it weren’t for the people around, she might have suspected Sienna really wanted to beat her to death.
The onlookers...
She was taken aback for a moment and looked up at the people gathering not far away and outside the neighborhood fence. Her heart suddenly skipped a beat.
She suddenly understood why Sienna Monroe had dragged her outside.
This was to solidify the clarification statement Sebastian Prescott had made online at noon, making everyone around a witness.
And incidentally, to trample on her reputation once again, but in a way that would still position Sienna as an innocent victim.
Effortlessly, with justified reason, she could beat her senselessly.
Killing three birds with one stone.
Good, really good.
But she forgot, it was she who personally set those three arrows on the bow for Sienna Monroe.
Right now, her chest was filled to the brim with intense hatred and anger, leaving no room for anything else.
Looking at the woman before her, she squeezed out each word through clenched teeth.
"Sienna Monroe, you’re really ruthless! Calling me heartless and unscrupulous, what about you? What do you call this?"
Sienna coldly looked down at her, her voice indifferent, "Compared to your means of wanting me dead, is this much even worth mentioning?"
As her words fell, three police officers pushed their way through the crowd.
Shouting, "Make way. What’s going on here?"
Seeing them, Vivian Nash’s heart immediately tightened with a bad premonition.
She felt they were here because of the online report earlier that morning.
If she was going to be arrested, she wanted to drag Sienna Monroe down with her.
With this in mind, she immediately struggled to get up from the ground.
Putting on a terrified and chaotic expression, she rushed over, crying and pleading for help, "Officers, help! She’s trying to kill me, she really is. Arrest her, quickly arrest her!"
The officers looked at her swollen face, then turned to Sienna Monroe and asked, "What happened? Did you inflict those injuries on her?"
Sienna Monroe also guessed the likely reason for the officers’ arrival.
She wasn’t affected by Vivian Nash’s words, remained calm as always, and nodded in response, "I did hit her..."
But before she could finish, many around them started speaking up, eager to explain the events.
Every sentence defended her, condemning Vivian Nash’s shameless behavior as a mistress.
After understanding the situation, an officer took out a warrant.
He said to Vivian Nash, "Are you Vivian Nash? We’re from the Southcroft Police Station. You’ve been reported for defamation,
intentionally directing others to spread false statements online, damaging others’ reputations. We’re now legally detaining you for investigation. Please come with us."
"Miss Morgan, we also need you to come with us."
*
Sienna Monroe was kept in an interrogation room for approximately forty minutes before the door opened again.
She lightly raised her eyes, unexpectedly seeing a familiar and distinguished figure.
Sebastian Prescott strode directly to her, "How are you? Were you hurt?"
Sienna gently shook her head, looking at him with some surprise, "No, how...how did you know..."
"The case from the night of the 7th involving someone attempting to injure you with a knife has been resolved. It will be submitted to the prosecution tomorrow morning. I came to the precinct to understand the situation, and bumped into Shaw at the door, who told me you were in the interrogation room, so I came over."
Sebastian, seeing her in good spirits and without facial injuries, felt a bit more at ease.
The "hero saving the damsel in distress" case that night was concluded?
Sienna paused, hesitantly asking, "And Caleb Sinclair..."
"Possibly not involved. I need to understand more before confirming. Wait for me here a moment. I’ll go check it out. Don’t worry."
After saying this, Sebastian turned and left the room.
When he returned, it was over half an hour later.
He said to her, "Let’s go."
Sienna was taken aback, standing up, "We can leave now?"
"Yes, it’s all been dealt with."
"Alright."
By the time they exited the police station, the sky was completely dark, like a deep blue curtain ripped open by neon lights, spilling halos of light freely.
Sienna thanked Sebastian, and then asked about the direction of the robber case involving the thug injuring her with a knife.
Sebastian said, "Robbery."
Sienna was a bit surprised, "Robbery?"
"Yes, the thug insisted he had no money and wanted to steal some; from when he was caught until now, he hasn’t mentioned Caleb Sinclair.
The police haven’t found evidence he was acting under Caleb Sinclair’s orders, so this is all it can be."
No evidence found...
This outcome, Sienna had anticipated, so she wasn’t disappointed.
After all, Caleb Sinclair has always been cautious; coming up with such a sinister plan, surely he also prepared a thorough way to wrap things up.
Pulling himself out of this isn’t too difficult.
Sienna nodded, "And can Vivian Nash be prosecuted and sentenced because of the report this morning?"
Sebastian said, "She can be. But even if prosecuted, I predict the sentence would just be two to three months, plus a fine.
Leave this to me, and don’t worry too much."
"Okay. Thank you for handling it."
Sebastian then asked, "Are you going to Delmore University Hospital tonight?"
"Yes, I need to stay the night."
He glanced at his watch, "Are you in a hurry to get there? Or do you want to grab some dinner first?"
Sienna also checked the time and looked at her clothes.
Pondering, she asked, "Not in a rush. I was thinking of changing into something else. How about a Chinese restaurant near The Left Bank Courtyard?"
Sebastian nodded, "Is your car at Rippling Crest Estates?"
"Yes, sorry to trouble you to detour over there..."
Sebastian opened the passenger door of the car, "Hop in."
Sienna thanked him, got in, and about ten minutes later, she got into her own car outside Rippling Crest Estates. The two luxury cars drove one after the other to a Chinese restaurant near The Left Bank Courtyard.
They didn’t spend much time on this meal. After eating, Sienna picked up the tab, and they headed back to the neighborhood together.
She quickly took a shower, changed into comfortable casual clothes, grabbed two sets of toiletries, and headed out.
When she arrived at the hospital, it was already past nine.
The hospital ward was incredibly quiet.
As the elevator’s number advanced to the 16th floor, her gaze lingered there for a couple of seconds. The number jumped to the 17th floor, the elevator door opened, and she withdrew her eyes, stepping out.
Turning into the corridor, she looked up to see Sean Fuller crouching, talking to a three or four-year-old girl in front of him.
As she got closer, he heard her, turning to look; the two exchanged glances in mid-air.
He stood up and asked first, "Went back to get things?"
"Yes."
Sienna nodded, then looked at the cute and beautiful little girl next to him, immediately freezing, with her pupils shrinking suddenly.
This face looked exactly like the little girl who appeared in her dream last night.
Only...
The girl in the dream seemed a bit older.
What’s... going on here?
