My Kitsune System-Chapter 32: The mini camp

"I had already warned you, didn’t I?"

With those words, the being slashed its sword forward. The short being was cut cleanly into two.

"Thank you, soul reaper," the being said as he continued walking away. As he did, a fox mask could be seen dangling beside him.

****Earth Realm

The city was calm and tranquil. People were moving about their lives. Some were going to work. Kids were at school. The birds in the air sang their songs into the people’s ears. The trees waved to the motions of the wind.

Down at Orion College, the players were on the field and were getting ready for practice.

Coach Collins came over, his eyes scanning through the crowd. His expression was a grim one. He then turned to look at Ryu, who shook his head in response.

"Okay, People, you know that the competition is around the corner. I would need you to perform your best."

He kept his words short and then he handed over to his assistant. Coach Collins motioned for Ryu to come over.

They both stepped away to talk.

Ryan watched them leave to talk in private.

"Pretty sure he’s worried about Dan. I hope you are good though," Ryan said as he looked up towards the sky.

**** Second heaven

The being walking alone stopped in his tracks. He turned to look around him.

"Did someone call my name?" he said.

He then turned to the shadows and spoke to them.

"Did you hear something?" He asked the shadows, but then he got no response from them.

"I really thought I heard something, though. This plane must be playing games with me. Or maybe it’s the lack of human contact that is causing this."

"I need to find people or at least beings I can relate with. Because I feel I am running mad." With those words, he went silent and continued on his journey.

Dan was basking in the silence when he heard a shout for help. The voice sounded almost human.

"Am I hearing voices out loud now?"

"I will run mad before I am able to get strong," he chuckled.

Ignoring the voice, Dan kept working on his own when...

BOOM!!!

The area surrounding him shook.

"I must be imagining the land things. Theland couldn’t have really shaken," he said, his eyes looking drained and tired.

A scream reached his ears. Immediately, his were renewed with vigor. He turned to where the sound was coming from. And started running there to check it.

"I thought I was the only human here? but there’s no mistaking it that was a human scream," Dan said as he moved closer to the scream.

He moved for a while till he reached to where looked like a little cliff and below, he saw a little gathering of demons.

From the way they were looking, they didn’t look quite powerful. As they had short horns, while powerful demons had longer and more horns.

Dan stayed up observing them, trying to see what they were going to do. He then noticed in the middle of their little camp, was a person who looked to be bound.

The person had long white hair. And from their lips, blood dripped down. The person’s side seems to be dripping, too.

As Dan surveyed the area, he noticed the most powerful of the Demons was one that had one and a half horns. The demon was powerful, but Dan could kill it. Theoretically though. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

Having been on the second heaven for weeks now he had learned how to battle them.

But putting my neck on the line for someone, I don’t think that’s reasonable. I can’t just decide to make enemies. When this isn’t even my realm.

Dan looked at the person captured one more time.

It’s a demi-god. Yeah, nope, I’m not doing that. Dan thought as he began moving away from the mini camp.

A few minutes later, Dan was now entering into the mini camp.

Why the hell do I care so much about people? Dan pricked his finger.

As he walked into the camp and headed towards the camp’s center where the demi-god was being tied.

Maybe I should have just ignored the person’s cry for help.

"But then won’t that make me a bad person, though?" Dan said as he got near the person and started untying the person.

The whole camp just stood and looked with wide eyes. It was as if they were under some kind of hypnosis that didn’t allow them move.

"You are gonna get yourself killed one day for this."

One of the mini demons finally moved. It shouted as it rushed at Dan with a sword. As it approached Dan, it immediately brought its blade down on Dan. Without sparing the mini demon a glance, he stretched out his hand and held the blade.

The demon tried moving the blade, but its attempts were futile. With a little pressure from his hands, Dan was able to shatter the blades. The demon staggered back. Its eyes widened.

It tried running, but it knew it couldn’t escape and immediately it screamed.

As it did, the other demons around wanted to jump into action, but they were scared. For they knew one misstep would be the end of their lives.

Dan rose up after he had untied the young demi-god.

He stretched his hands, and his shadow began to rise and curl. From within the shadow, a beautiful black Katana was formed.

Dan gripped the handle of the Katana. His eyes then began to glow. The demons finally moved, with the first coming with an overhead strike. Dan immediately moved out of the way, and the demon missed.

Before it could turn back and attack, the black katana had pierced it from the back of its neck and protruded to the front.

Seeing this, more demons came to attack Dan. As they did, Dan was able to avoid their blades with swift movements. He grabbed onto one’s blade and used it to pull the demon closer before he sliced the demon’s head cleanly off.

He then took the blade and threw it at another. A demon came to pierce him from the back. The demon successfully struck down Dan, only for him to vanish, revealing it to be an afterimage.

The next thing, the world of the demon went black. One by one, Dan cut down the demons.

And then a roar echoed through the plane.

"ENOUGH!!!"

All the demons stopped attacking and parted for someone else.

And at the other end was a demon. A being with intense aura, its eyes were completely red. It had one and a half horns. Held in its hand was a blade. It looked kind of rusty, but Dan knew better than to believe that. For he knew it was the blood of the demons’ slain enemies.

"You better be worth all these" Dan said as he reached for something at his side.

He then pulled up the fox mask and used it to cover his face. His eyes glowd within the mask.

His first tail grew from his back... and then another....

And then

BOOM!!!

His aura exploded.

With a cold voice, he spoke.

"Let’s get started."
