Chapter 66: 66. An Introvert And A Cute Little Dragon Princess.

Astrid trailed behind Hallie as they walked toward the castle’s entrance and into the main hallway.

Looking around, Astrid found something very strange and odd about the Dragon Queen’s castle.

Unlike her mother’s castle, there seemed to be no single guard or maid in the building.

Astrid wasn’t sure if Vivian had a maid or not but if she did have maids in her castle, shouldn’t she have seen at least one by now?

Or was it because she was the strongest demon in the continent, so she saw no reason to have dozens of maids walking around her castle?

Astrid thought to herself, but since she couldn’t be certain of the reason, Astrid decided to stick to her assumption.

However, she also noticed something very unique about Vivian’s castle that made it completely different from that of her mother’s.

Unlike Isabella’s castle, Astrid noticed the rays of sunlight that flowed past the open windows in the hall, making Vivian’s castle feel warm and welcoming.

Although her mother had told her to view Aster and Lily as her enemies, the bright and warm environment of her enemies’ home didn’t look anything like what Astrid had expected.

Back in her kingdom, the sky barely had any sun, so most times, the city and kingdom in general, were surrounded by cold and darkness, which was the most suitable condition for frost demons who thrived in low degree environments.

Astrid had grown accustomed to such an environment and she really liked it, but staying in a place as warm as this didn’t seem too bad either.

Pulling her mind away from such thoughts, Astrid noticed the large doors opening in front of her.

The doors led to a really big room, but inside that room, a cute little dragon princess could be seen bouncing around in excitement as she kept singing a song about snow and how much she was going to play with it for the first time in her life.

But while she was singing and hopping around like a cute little bunny, Lily suddenly heard the door open and her gaze landed on the beautiful Frost Demon princess as she stepped into the room.

"ASTRID!!!" Lily’s voice rang out before Astrid could even take three steps into the room.

The young Frost Demon princess instinctively flinched at the loud voice but before she could even say anything, Lily instantly launched herself towards her with her eyes practically sparkling with excitement.

"You came! You really came!" Lily squealed before grabbing both of Astrid’s hands and squeezing them tightly.

"Y-yeah."

"You’ll be staying here for a week, right? That’s what Mama told me."

"Y-yeah, I will."

Lily looked behind Astrid and asked. "Did you bring your clothes with you?"

"Yes, I did."

"That’s great. Okay, I have so many questions to ask you. Do you like sweet things? I like sweet things, but what about you? Oh, since you brought your clothes over, does that mean you’ll be sleeping in the same room as us or will you be sleeping separately? Oh, what about our playtime in the snow? When do we get started?"

"Um, y-yes, I-I like sweet things and I..." Astrid trailed off the moment she realized that she was stuttering a lot.

She wondered why she was always like this whenever she was conversing with Lily. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

The same thing had happened last time as well.

It had been during Aster and Lily’s homecoming party, but Astrid hadn’t thought much of it back then because Lily had caught her by surprise when she suddenly grabbed her hands to question her about her ability to use snow magic.

At the time, Astrid had been shocked by Lily ’s actions, causing her to stutter while talking to her, but it also allowed Lily to easily guide their conversation at her own pace.

Astrid had hoped to change this when she arrived here, but from what had happened so far, that was looking extremely unlikely.

Actually, no one could really blame Astrid, because unlike Lily who was never shy to start up a conversation with anyone, Astrid, was a lot different from the dragon princess because she had been raised as a single child in her mother’s castle and the frost dragon princess never had anyone to talk to, except her mother.

But that rarely happened as well because her mother was always busy, so in the end, Astrid grew up spending most of her time alone in her room.

"I like your hair."

"Huh?" Astrid was taken aback by Lily’s comment.

"I like your hair." Lily repeated. "It’s long, black and shiny. I like it because it makes you look pretty and I’m sure big brother would like it as well."

Astrid’s heart skipped a beat and she managed to mumble a few words. "I-I’m not pretty."

Meanwhile, Vivian continued to watch what was happening in front of her with a smile on her lips.

The dragon queen was seated gracefully on a soft and fluffy lounge near the window with one leg crossed over the other and her chin resting lightly on her knuckles.

Vivian smiled even more as she called out to Lily.

"Lily dear, don’t you think it’s time for our tea party?" Vivian asked as she glanced over at Lily before drifting her gaze toward Astrid. "Hello, Astrid."

Astrid straightened at once, managing to break free from Lily’s hold on her hands. "G-Greetings, Your Majesty and thank you for inviting me."

She bowed with a perfect form, her back straight while her gaze lowered just enough to show deep respect to the Queen sitting in front of her.

"There’s no need for you to get so formal with me dear, just come over and let’s start our tea party. You too, Lily, Mommy can’t wait to have this special girl’s time with you two."

Hearing this, Lily giggled and instantly pulled Astrid towards the couch so that the two of them could join Vivian for their tea party.
