Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 592: Potential Client
Audrey Sutton glanced at Faye Xavier, and then at the girl beside him, forcing a smile as she explained, "No, just dropping off a friend. Where are you guys headed?"
Faye Xavier smiled and said, "Where else? It’s getting late, so we’re finding a place to ’rest up’."
Saying this, Faye Xavier lowered his head and told Jasmine Lucas, "Just wait here for me, I’m going to get the car."
Jasmine Lucas nodded obediently with a smile, watching Faye Xavier’s departing figure while sneaking a glance at Audrey Sutton and Seraphina Vaughn standing nearby.
Having just heard Faye Xavier greet Audrey Sutton, knowing they had a good relationship, Jasmine Lucas hesitated to either socialize or not.
Coincidentally, Audrey Sutton initiated a conversation with Jasmine Lucas, "Miss, what’s your name?"
Jasmine Lucas was taken aback for a moment but then reverted to her persona of late, giving Audrey Sutton a scornful look and saying haughtily, "Why should I tell you?"
Audrey Sutton laughed and explained, "Oh, I’m a friend of Faye. Since you’re his girlfriend, you’re naturally my friend too, so I just wanted to ask."
Jasmine Lucas crossed her arms and turned her head the other way, saying to Audrey Sutton, "I won’t believe you until Brother Faye admits it himself."
The "Brother Faye" made Audrey Sutton get goosebumps all over, thinking to herself that Faye Xavier liked this kind of girl.
This girl wasn’t very tall, hardly reaching 160 cm by estimation, petite with a baby face, looking particularly youthful. Her clothes, however, were somewhat revealing and mature, which made guessing her age difficult.
Jasmine Lucas knew Audrey Sutton’s identity and, after a moment’s thought, realized that these wealthy wives were potential clients for them. Moreover, there was always drama with the rich, and many of their clients tended to be such rich housewives, spending generously. Jasmine said, "I know you, you’re Third Young Master’s wife."
Audrey Sutton was not surprised by this. Having been married to Shane Warner for more than a year, the two often made the news, and Shane often brought her to such events, so it wasn’t a secret. Hearing Jasmine speak up, Audrey simply continued, smiling generously, "I’m Audrey Sutton. And you?"
Jasmine Lucas hesitated, cautiously replying, "Just call me Jaz, that’s what everyone calls me."
Seraphina Vaughn butted in with a question, "How old are you?"
Jasmine Lucas frowned unhappily, speaking in a sweet, coy tone, "You’re so rude."
Audrey Sutton laughed and rephrased, "You look like you’re in your teens. We sisters are just worried you might be too young and get deceived."
Upon hearing this, Jasmine Lucas’s face immediately brightened as she replied with a smile, "You really know how to talk. But I’m in my twenties. Saying I’m in my teens is an exaggeration."
Seraphina Vaughn, seemingly annoyed with Jasmine’s earlier retort, scoffed, "Height-wise, you’re indistinguishable from a teenager."
Jasmine Lucas switched back to a displeased expression, "Sister, you really don’t know how to talk. You won’t find a boyfriend like that!"
Seraphina Vaughn chuckled sarcastically, "I’ll take your word for it."
Jasmine Lucas snorted and, seeing Faye Xavier’s car approaching, descended the steps and turned back to Audrey Sutton, saying, "We’ll meet again."
Audrey Sutton raised an eyebrow, puzzled by Jasmine’s remark.
But Jasmine didn’t give her much chance to inquire further, opening the car door and slipping into the passenger seat. Before the door closed, her sweet voice, enough to make one’s skin crawl, called out, "Brother Faye, I’m freezing. It’s so cold outside!"
The car door closed, finally shutting off that hair-raising voice.
Seraphina Vaughn watched Faye Xavier’s car drive off with a puzzled look, asking Audrey Sutton, "Do coy women have the best fates?"
Audrey Sutton pursed her lips, linking arms with Seraphina Vaughn as they headed into the mansion’s hall, saying, "Can a good fate follow Faye Xavier?"
Seraphina Vaughn, "None of them are any good."
Audrey Sutton sighed, "I used to think Brother Xavier was bad enough. Now I find Miles Sterling even more detestable. Brother Xavier is a flirt, but he’s manly and never rough with women. But Miles Sterling is both sleazy and violent."
"Hey, hey, look over there. Your husband might have been targeted."
Audrey Sutton looked in the direction where Shane Warner had been before, and the first thing she saw was Grace Sue.
At first glance, there didn’t seem to be anything unusual. Grace Sue was sitting next to Bryce Sue, looking like a clingy younger sister wanting to hang around her older brother for fun.
But recalling the "glorious deeds" Seraphina Vaughn had previously mentioned about Grace Sue, Audrey Sutton became alert and, together with Seraphina Vaughn, quickly walked over there.
Seeing Audrey Sutton approaching, Shane Warner naturally made room beside him, opening his arms towards her. Audrey Sutton took her seat by his side and nudged him further in, saying, "Make some space for Brother Seraphina to sit."
The sofa was long enough, but the hem of Audrey Sutton’s dress was too wide today. Arthur Sutton shifted a bit further inside, making just enough room for Seraphina Vaughn to sit next to Audrey Sutton.
Shane Warner draped his jacket over Audrey Sutton’s lap, gently asking her, "Where did you run off to? Haven’t seen you for ages."
Audrey Sutton, "I went roaming around with Brother Seraphina."
Arthur Sutton leaned over Shane Warner to speak to Audrey Sutton, "It’s so cold outside, and you’re not wearing more? Don’t catch a cold."
Audrey Sutton, "I’m not cold. I just needed some air from being cooped up inside. You guys carry on; I’m just here to sit and rest."
Saying this, Audrey Sutton reached for a handful of sunflower seeds on the table in front, passing some to Seraphina Vaughn and then munching on the rest herself, pretending to carelessly snack.
Grace Sue, sitting next to Bryce Sue, was playing on her phone and hadn’t spoken a word.
Among those gathered, apart from Shane Warner and a few of his young and talented companions, were several middle-aged business owners. Their conversation naturally revolved around recent financial market trends. Unable to understand the technical terms, Audrey Sutton sat quietly by, gossiping with Seraphina Vaughn while periodically eyeing Grace Sue.
Grace Sue, sucking on a lollipop as if she were gaming, seemed displeased and set down her phone after about ten minutes, rudely interrupting the chat between Bryce Sue and Arthur Sutton to complain, "Big Brother, play with me. These teammates are terrible."
Bryce Sue patiently and gently said to Grace Sue, "Go find your second brother to play. Big Brother is busy."
Grace Sue shoved the lollipop back into her mouth, pouting disdainfully, "Second brother is busy flirting with girls and has no time for me."
Bryce Sue didn’t respond to Grace Sue, smiling kindly and continuing the conversation with those around him.
Audrey Sutton noticed Grace Sue putting away her phone, straightening up, and looking around as if a bored child seeking something interesting to do.
Suddenly, Grace Sue’s gaze directly met Audrey Sutton’s, who casually shifted her eyes away, continuing to snack on sunflower seeds and chat with Seraphina Vaughn.
Out of the corner of her eye, Audrey saw Grace Sue get up, circling behind the sofa she’d been sitting on, and approached beside Audrey and Seraphina, interrupting their conversation, her gaze on Audrey as she said, "I know you, you were on the news. Sister Morgan said you’re her friend."
