Chapter 591: Chapter 591: Jasmine Lucas

In the dim corner.

Faye Xavier smiled as he accepted the wine glass handed to him by the girl in his arms, while his other hand wandered to her waist, trying to cop a feel. The girl discreetly caught his hand, holding it with hers.

It looked like hand-holding, but more seemed like she was repulsed by Faye’s sleazy behavior.

Yet, as she did this, she maintained a smile on her face, snuggling up in Faye’s embrace, speaking coquettishly, "Brother Faye, will you drink this glass of wine?"

Faye smiled back, "Of course, I’ll drink it."

Saying so, he gave her a meaningful look before tilting his head back to finish the wine in the glass.

He hadn’t even set the glass down when the girl picked up the bottle and poured more wine into it.

Faye, with his arm around the girl, leaned in to sniff her ear with a chuckle. The girl giggled shyly and pushed him away, "You’re so annoying~"

Faye teased her with a grin, "Are you trying to get me drunk? Tell me, what are you planning when you get me drunk? Do you have some sort of motive?"

"What motive could I have?"

Faye put his wine glass down and wrapped his arms around the girl, "You’re quite something. Among all who spend this much time with me, you’re the first girl I haven’t had a deeper connection with."

The girl glared at him shyly, pouting, "What are you thinking? I’m not that kind of girl!"

Faye smiled without a word, seemingly indulgent but actually quite impatient. He felt she was pretending to be innocent, the type he had encountered often, enjoying this cat-and-mouse game. So he decided that tonight, no matter what, he had to close the deal.

If you tally it up, he had spent quite a bit on this girl—clothes, shoes, bags, cosmetics...

Seemingly just a few hundred to a few thousand, at most, tens of thousands, but scattered together was enough to buy a small bachelor apartment in the city center.

Spending so much and still not having slept with her, Faye Xavier was not someone to be taken for such a fool.

So tonight, no matter what she said, even if he had to tie her up to get her to bed.

"Brother Faye, I might not be able to join you for dinner tomorrow."

Faye placed his hand on her shoulder, playing with her hair, asking, "Why?"

The girl snuggled in his arms, playing with his shirt buttons, saying, "My car’s broken. Needs repairs. It’s an old car, having lots of issues, fixed it several times already."

Faye wasn’t dumb, he could hear the implication in her words, looking down with a grin, asking, "Should I buy you a new one?"

The woman shook her head, understanding yet humble, "Brother Faye’s money doesn’t grow on trees, it must be hard-earned. My car can still manage with some repairs, getting a new one is wasteful. I just want you to be happy, not to work so hard."

Admittedly, her words pleased Faye very much, although he knew full well it was just a woman’s little tricks to please him. But he loved to hear it, giving her a peck on the cheek, saying, "If you make me happy tonight, I’ll take you to get a car tomorrow."

The girl didn’t show much excitement, instead, she furrowed her brow sadly, pausing for a moment before asking, "Brother Faye, have you always been so generous with those other girls?"

Faye’s sweet talk was quick off the tongue, "What other girls? You’re the only one on my mind."

"Liar, you’re so handsome and charming, there must be lots of girls who like you."

Faye said, "It’s their business if they like me, you just need to know I only like you."

After saying this, Faye tapped her head, moving in to kiss her, but she immediately turned her head, pressed against his chest, pouting displeased, "It smells like alcohol, I don’t like it."

Faye said, "Shall we head back now? Get a hotel to get rid of the smell?"

The girl looked reluctant, "Why are you always thinking about those things? If I agree, you’ll leave right after, pretending you don’t know me."

Faye was used to saying different things to different people, lies came easily, "Do you think I’m that kind of person?"

Though she didn’t nod, her distrust was plainly written in her eyes.

Faye thought to himself, he’d never failed with women before, and after spending so many days and money, he’d not managed to win her over, telling people about it would be a joke.

"Jaz, how can you not trust me? Tell you what, if you spend tonight with me, I’ll take you to buy a new car first thing in the morning. You can choose the model, any within two million."

Jasmine Lucas thought to herself, this scumbag really is rich. She had planned to close the net tonight, but he offered himself up instead.

Calculating inwardly with a click-click sound her little abacus, her outside betrayed no hint of the schemes in her heart. Pouting, she said, "You think I’m only after your money?"

Faye said, "Of course not, I’m just worried you feel insecure, thinking I’m deceiving you. If I’m buying you such an expensive car, investing so much, how could I turn hostile after just one night? I want to be with you long-term, that’s why I’m willing to spend so much on you."

Jasmine looked at him with an intentionally innocent and naïve gaze, like a girl curious about love, asking, "Really?"

Faye said as he pulled out a bank card from his wallet, "There’s over a million in here, consider it a deposit. Take it, it’ll give you peace of mind. Password is three sixes and three eights. Tomorrow, when we go look at cars, I’ll cover any difference."

Looking at the card, Jasmine calculated. If she encountered two or three more of such scumbags, her annual target would be met.

Her heart was set on the card, but her face remained expressionless, pretending hesitation. She looked from Faye to the card, saying, "I’ll keep it, but won’t spend your money, just saving it for our future together, okay?"

Faye said, "Up to you, shall we go? I’ll get the car."

Jasmine took the card, hiding her joy inside, outwardly calm as she put the card in her bag, grabbed a cashmere shawl from the sofa, and, with Faye on her arm, they left together...

As Faye and Jasmine were leaving, Audrey Sutton and Seraphina Vaughn were at the door bidding farewell to Vanessa Sterling.

Vanessa had been called away by Miles Sterling’s phone call, but Miles himself didn’t appear to leave with her, sending a driver to take Vanessa back instead.

From Vanessa boarding the car to when it drove off, Miles never showed.

Audrey and Seraphina worriedly watched Vanessa leave, telling her to call if anything happened after she got home.

Though they couldn’t completely pull Vanessa out of darkness, at least they could temporally shield her from Miles Sterling’s harm.

"Sis, you heading back too?" Faye, with Jasmine in his arms, came out grinning, greeting Audrey.
