Mated to Four Alphas-Chapter 35: First day of shoot
Chapter 35: First day of shoot
Silas’s POV
I gazed at Lysander as he spoke. His expression was unusually serious, lacking the usual playful glint in his eyes.
And Damon was here the whole time... I’ll thank him later.
It was already late at night.
"Nekol and Lysander, you both should go back now," I said.
But Lysander sat beside me on the bed, crossing his arms. "No, I’m not leaving. I’ll stay here with you."
"Lysander, listen to me—"
He wasn’t the type to back down easily. In the end, the three of us talked for a while. Nekol eventually left, but Lysander stayed and slept on the couch.
Thankfully, I got discharged the next morning. My shooting was scheduled to start tomorrow, and I was worried about how long I’d be in the hospital. But it was good that I recovered quickly.
The rest of the day, I mostly lay in bed, getting as much rest as possible. By the next day, I felt completely fine. freewebnσvel.cѳm
Finally, the day arrived when I would stand in front of the real camera and shoot my scenes. Nekol came to pick me up in the afternoon. I was ready to go, but I didn’t see Lysander anywhere. His room was locked too—I guessed he hadn’t returned to the dorm.
"Nekol, isn’t Lysander coming with us?"
"No, he has other work. He’ll be late, but we need to leave soon so you can familiarize yourself with the location before filming starts."
I nodded, and we left.
Before leaving, I really wanted to see Damon—I hadn’t even thanked him yet. But I didn’t get the chance to meet him, and we headed straight to the first shooting location.
After a while, we were on the way to the forest. The drama’s first scene was set in a forest, where the main character was burying someone.
When we arrived, only the crew members were present, setting up the equipment. Nekol and I greeted everyone, and I scanned my surroundings. I was the only actor on set at that moment.
The setup, the cameras, the lights—everything looked amazing. I couldn’t stop looking around. But for some reason, the forest gave off a horror-like vibe.
We waited and waited, and eventually, Director Wang arrived in the evening.
"It’s a night shoot," he explained. "That’s why I told you to come in the evening."
But we’d arrived in the afternoon because Nekol wanted me to check out the location beforehand. I did as he said, but I finished looking around within half an hour. After that, it was just plain boring.
"Everyone, get ready! And Silas, why aren’t you ready yet?" the director called out. "If you arrived early, you should’ve gotten prepared. What is the staff even doing?"
No one had told me I needed to get ready already.
Where was Nekol? I hadn’t seen him since the afternoon. I thought he was nearby, talking with the crew.
Just then, a crew member approached me. "Hey, follow me."
I followed her and was surprised to see a vanity bus with my name on it. It had been there the whole time—why hadn’t anyone told me about this? I had been feeling dizzy earlier, and I could’ve rested inside.
I stepped into the vanity bus and sat in front of the mirror. The inside was beautiful and luxurious. It was my first time seeing a vanity bus from the inside.
As I settled in, a girl walked up and placed a hairband on my head, starting my makeup. It felt like someone was painting on my face as she applied foundation. Since I’d never worn makeup before, it felt strange.
"By any chance, did you see my manager?" I asked, hoping she knew where Nekol had gone.
"No, I don’t know anything about him. I haven’t even seen him," she replied.
But something about her tone felt off. She sounded too indifferent.
Nekol wasn’t the type to leave his responsibilities and disappear.
Just then, the door opened, and Nekol entered the vanity bus. But my heart dropped when I saw him—his cheek was swollen on one side.
I quickly stood up. "Nekol, are you okay? What happened to your face? Tell me!"
"It’s nothing serious," he said with a forced smile. "I just fell. Don’t worry about it."
How could I not worry? His cheek was swollen so badly. I couldn’t just ignore it.
"Silas, just sit down and let them do your makeup," he said. "Director Wang is waiting for you outside. Do your best during the shoot."
Nekol sat on the sofa while I finished my makeup and changed into my outfit—a casual t-shirt and pants.
"Nekol, you rest here. There’s no need for you to come outside and watch my scene, okay?"
He nodded, and I headed out.
Everything was ready. I had already memorized all my lines.
Taking a deep breath, I stood in place as all the cameras focused on me. Director Wang’s eyes were locked on me as well.
It was already dark, and the forest felt even eerier now. The atmosphere was enough to send shivers down my spine. But I didn’t let my fear show.
I kept it inside.
Just then, I saw Lysander approaching with a smile on his face. He walked over and stood beside Director Wang, then made a small fist gesture—a silent sign of encouragement.
I hadn’t even realized how nervous I had been before, but the moment I saw him, a wave of confidence washed over me.
The anxiety that had been gripping me just moments ago completely faded away.
"Okay then... Lights, camera, and action!"
Director Wang’s voice rang out, signaling the start of the scene.
I grabbed the long, oversized plastic bag that held the corpse. My fingers tightened around the material as I gripped the legs and began dragging the body forward. My face remained serious—void of emotion—just as the script demanded.
The weight of the bag added to the realism, making my movements slow and strained, but I didn’t let that distract me. Every step, every breath, had to be in sync with the character I was portraying.
