Chapter 34: I am feeling dizzy

Silas ’s POV

I quickly glanced around. Thankfully, there was no one nearby. If people saw Lysander here, they would definitely mob him.

The waiter led us to a private room. It was different from a normal restaurant setting—there was a long sofa big enough for an entire family to sit in a row, and in front of it was a glass table.

I went and sat on the sofa. Just then, Lysander sat on my right side, and Damon took the seat on my left. As soon as Damon sat down, he placed his coat over my thighs. I quickly glanced at him.

"It’s cold here, so cover your thighs."

Indeed, it was cold, so I didn’t refuse his help and covered my thighs with his coat.

"Silas, is there anything you want to eat?"

I glanced at Lysander as he asked.

"Anything is fine. I’m starving right now."

After saying that, I started looking around the room, but I could feel both of their eyes on me. That’s why I didn’t look at them. Damon placed the order, and Lysander did too. The waiter left after taking the orders.

"Mr. Damon, do you even realize what’s happening in your company these days?"

I turned to look at Lysander, curious about what he was about to say.

"What?"

As expected from Damon—he never uses more words than necessary. It’s like if he talks too much, he might win an award or something.

Lysander then told Damon everything—the cafeteria incident, how the chef ignored my orders, how I was eating whatever was available, and how people were gossiping about me.

He could have just told Damon about the chef. There was no need to mention people gossiping or what I’d been eating for the past week. Now I felt embarrassed because Damon was looking at me with those pitiful eyes again.

"Hey, there’s no need to pity me."

"Silas, why didn’t you tell me about this? Why did you endure it? You’re not the type of person who puts up with things like this."

I quickly turned my head toward Damon. "Because I didn’t want to create more problems... And you’re talking like I pick fights every day for no reason. Do I look like a thug in your eyes?"

"I didn’t mean it like that."

"I just want you to stand up for yourself like you always do."

Damon was talking like he knew me so well.

"If I endured it, it means it wasn’t a big deal. So don’t worry."

Damon suddenly leaned in closer to me. "How can I not worry when you’re this beautiful?"

I gave him a blank stare. What’s wrong with you, dude?

Seeing my poker face, Damon smiled. Lysander had been listening to everything but hadn’t interrupted.

Just then, the door opened, and the waiter came in with the food.

After serving us, he left. There was soup, grilled sandwiches, and a bunch of other dishes.

"Silas, from now on, whatever is bothering you, you have to tell me," Damon said.

"Okay, okay. Let’s eat first," I said, because I was damn hungry.

Lysander served food onto my plate, probably trying to be a gentleman like Damon.

I took a bite of the sandwich, and it was delicious.

"How is it? Do you like it?" Lysander asked.

I nodded because the food was really great. Seeing me eat, they both started eating too.

I grabbed a spoon and took a sip of the soup.

"Hmm, yummy."

But as I was about to take a second sip, my head suddenly felt heavy—like a big rock had been placed on top of it. My vision blurred, and my throat felt itchy. Then—

Cough, cough, cough!

I started coughing, but what shocked me more was that my soup bowl was turning red.

"Silas!"

"Silas!"

They both looked worried.

I was coughing blood.

All these symptoms... There was only one explanation—there was mushroom in the soup. ƒгeewebnovёl.com

I’ve been allergic to mushrooms since childhood. The last time this happened was years ago when my mom was still alive. Everyone had panicked, and the doctor had said mushrooms were dangerous for me. If I ate them, I could die.

I felt dizzy, but I could feel Lysander’s hand gripping mine. I wanted to tell him to take me to the hospital, but the words wouldn’t come out.

For a brief moment, my vision turned black.

When it became clear again, I saw Damon—he was carrying me. His face was filled with worry, but... I didn’t think it was for me.

Then, once again, my vision faded to darkness.

When I opened my eyes, it was already night.

Nekol was sitting beside me.

It was a hospital.

I guess they brought me here on time. That’s why I’m still alive.

"Nekol," I said weakly.

Nekol had been looking down, but as soon as he heard my voice, his head snapped up.

"Silas! You’re awake! How are you feeling? Do you feel pain anywhere?"

"Wait, I’ll call the doctor!"

I barely got a chance to say anything before Nekol rushed to call the doctor.

After checking my condition, the doctor said I was fine and out of danger. He told Nekol to be careful and to never let me eat mushrooms again. Otherwise, I would die.

It was my mistake.

I should have told them in advance about my allergy. I need to be more careful in the future... If I don’t want to die early.

After a while, Damon and Lysander walked into the room.

"Silas, you’re finally awake! Do you know how worried I was?" Lysander said dramatically.

"I’m fine now, don’t worry. And what are you doing here?"

"What do you mean? I’m here to see you, of course!"

I appreciated it, really. I knew Lysander had a tight schedule, yet he still came to see me. But if I said that out loud, he’d probably get too full of himself.

"By the way, where’s Mr. Damon?" I vaguely remembered he was the one who carried me.

"He was here with me the whole time, but he had an urgent meeting, so he just left five minutes ago."

"He was so worried about you, you know."
