Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 97: Of Perfect Parents
*Sorry I hadn’t updated in a while, but they will be consistent henceforth!
[RANIA]
"The alpha has twenty-four hours to leave Obren and the supernatural lands, never to come back again," Dalrae said in a clipped tone, as she watched their people cheer on.
They looked so excited to the point that it was sickening to watch. It took Dalrae a moment to remember that once her sister was gone, she would be reigning over this lot. They had done Rania dirty and were proud of it.
"Yeah, I guess you all finally get the chance to live better lives free of hate, yeah?" Rania said tiredly as she forced a smile at her people.
She looked at her parents who were within gin silence. She knew what they were thinking and frankly, Rania wished they could speak their minds instead of letting her hold onto the pain that was consuming her.
Her life was slowly changing and they knew it. But then she knew it was changing in a different direction. So much would transpire once she left Incayon, but she hoped to the goddess that everything would be alright.
"Perfect then. We have an announcement too," Alpha Kim said, and Rania just sighed. It seemed like they were going to be doing this earlier than she had thought of. Damn, her fate was cruel to her, but maybe the future would be safer right?
Maybe someone would show up for her, and give her the comfort she desperately yearned for, the comfort that her parents and her people were never going to offer her. But then how could she even hope for comfort, when the one person who could have given it to her had long left her?
"What is it, alpha?" Dalrae asked like she didn’t have a hint of what they were going to do. Maybe she was hoping that it was different, but she had seen this coming from the moment Rania was first rejected by her cheating mate.
It was a hard call then and right now, Dalrae told the goddess that no one would try to raise a hand on Rania, because consequences be damned, she would defend her sister with all that she had and didn’t have.
"Given the events that occurred in the past years, we all have to admit that Kim Rania has been an embarrassment to Incayon. She is the only alpha that was rejected by many of her mates, since her sixteenth birthday. And we believe that the fates are trying to warn us of how dangerous she is.
"We cannot deny that she has worked to protect Incayon, but the price that Obren has long paid, has been a lot. We all know that. Which is why, as of today, other than Rania being stripped of her position as the alpha, we renounce her from our family registry.
"We disown her, and refuse to be considered her parents. We brought to the world an abomination and we have seen the wolves and the different factions pay the price for it. Whoever she is, we do not wish to know.
"Let it be known to the whole of Obren that the house Kim of Incayon, has no child!" Alpha Kim said, and Rania looked at her father blankly.
Of course she had been expecting this, from the moment she heard the rumors, but hearing her father say this, and that too in front of the whole Incayon was like a wound to the heart. She had been ruined in one too many ways, and her parents were here to cement the pain in her heart.
Rania looked at her mother who was staring at her husband, like she agreed with the alpha’s verdict. It had been a sign that maybe her mother would step up for her, bit as usual, luna Kim watched in silence as her husband ruined their daughter down to the last bit.
An alpha without a status was one thing, but a stranger in her own home, that was a little too cruel.
"She will be considered a rogue wolf from this moment forward, and as we all know, rogue wolves aren’t welcome in Incayon. Kim Rania, as the rogue you are, please make your exit from Incayon as you have no reason to be here," Luna Kim added, and Rania whimpered for the first time in three days.
She had been strong through the battles. She had been ready to fight Nathaniel for her best friend. She had been ready to fight for Incayon, and even Obren, but she had paid the price eventually. All because of her first rejection that was followed by mass rejections.
They thought of her as a pest, and bad luck to their home, when she was the only reason Incayon had its status right now. Oh, but Rania felt betrayed.
’I’m a rogue now?’ Rania asked herself as he looked at the people cheering at her parents. She could feel the mind links breaking one by one and her body was already changing.
Given she had been an alpha wolf, Rania’s rogue stench was instant, from the moment her parents disowned her. She had been banished from Obren, banished for home, and her mate wasn’t even aware they were mates.
She had nothing and all because she had chosen to fight for her home, instead of herself.
Rania felt her heart shattering, as she listened to the cheers of her people, and the insults they were sending her way. She hadn’t cared much about that, but when the final mindlink was cut, Rania knew she was completely and utterly alone on this side of the world.
The final link to be cut was Dalrae’s, and maybe that’s why it hurt so bad.
"I’m sorry, my Rani," Dalrae whispered to Rania, when she saw Rania falter, and fall to the ground in defeat. They were all aware of the intense pain she was feeling, and even then, they continued cheering like it was Christmas for them.
Lim Dalrae had never felt so helpless in her life like she was feeling today. She had the power of an alpha, and yet even then, she couldn’t give her best friend the status she needed. She couldn’t even give her the protection that Rania had been giving her all this while.
Dalrae looked at her people in anger and disappointment. They were the most unthankful bunch of wolves she had ever met, and if it hadn’t been for the fact that she had been tasked by the council to rule this pack, Dalrae could have run away with Rania.
She could have taken Rania far away from this place that had only ever caused her so much pain. They were unbelievable, but they were the greatest lesson Dalrae had to learn.
In the end, they were always going to be alone, just like her sweet sister was alone.
"Oh Rani," Dalrae said to Rania as she watched her sister try to hold back her tears.
One thing Rania had promised herself was a simple fact that Incayon was never going to see her tears ever. They had long broken her and she had been holding her own, but right now, she felt like she was about to break that promise to herself.
"I’m okay, Dalrae. Don’t worry, little sister," Rania said before she shifted into a huge beautiful white wolf and rushed out of Incayon, away from the pack. She needed a break.
