"Oh really now? For someone who has spent the past ten years and more trapped in Nathaniel’s dungeons, you sure have a lot to say about me. How much did you pay to let you even get through adolescence, huh?

"Or wait, did mommy dearest know that her vampire ex-boyfriend was holding you captive all this while? Or daddy dearest knew and even then he sent the weak warriors to get you, right? Aah yeah, and I had to play dead in the goddamn dungeon for your stupid ass.

"You really have some nerve when you’re nothing but a privileged kid with abandonment issues desperate to prove to daddy that you’re good enough to be the crown prince they once knew.

"Well, news flash, your royal highness, your parents won’t ever look at you the same way, which means you gotta work your ass off and prove to them that you’re not just another spy for Nathaniel in Obren.

"You have got some nerve getting angry when you do the first thing about a lunar trial or should I tell everyone the truth here and now? Will your little bothered ego handle it?

"Or will you use Jihoon as a shield like you are doing now?" Rania asked nonchalantly but the anger in her voice was clear as day.

Everyone was still staring at the prince and the psycho and this time, they didn’t even know what to think anymore. Part of what Rania had said was the truth but they knew they couldn’t be seen openly agreeing with Rania.

"This little shit," prince Jungwoo growled out angrily before he got up from his seat and rushed to where Rania was seated. He didn’t hesitate to wrap his hands around her neck, making everyone in the room get up from shock.

The prince looked so determined to put an end to Rania’s life; but the thing was, Jungwoo wasn’t pressing his hands on her neck. If anything, he was just holding them there, like he was unsure of what he needed to do.

Frankly, it was almost like he needed some push to make sure this was going to be worth it.

Rania looked at her best friend, the anger in his eyes, and the pain so raw that she honestly couldn’t take it anymore. She gently closed her eyes, because this was too much for her of course she knew that the loss of Yanna would be significant, but then what Yanna had done was unforgivable.

Granted, it would have fixed so many things in Rania’s life if she came forward with the truth, but then Rania knew she had no one to run to. And she didn’t want to put Dalrae in danger, because she was protecting Dalrae from the whole of Obren.

Kim Rania was always the one protecting people, which was why it was hard to accept that she had killed Yanna just because she could. Rania wasn’t a serial murderer, but even then, she had always claimed to be the engineer of the chaos that Obren had to get used to.

They had ruined her and now, she had managed to ruin the one person who could have crossed the ocean on foot for her.

"You’re not even pressing hard. Are you that scared of me, my prince?" Rania spelled out, this time, opening her eyes, and staring at Jungwoo coldly that even the prince flinched. He had never seen Rania in this state and the fact that he was close to choking her, was also new to him.

What the hell had happened between them to make them into these monsters?

"Do you want me to teach you how I pressed the blade into that stupid luna’s body?" Rania asked and that was all it took for the crown prince, Jeon Jungwoo to press on her neck.

The feeling of his arms around Rania’s neck felt like a betrayal to their friendship, but his anger and his wolf wouldn’t let him have peace. And so the prince pressed on, with Rania egging him on every chance she got.

Han Seong was watching the spectacle and was poised. So he looked at the king waiting to see whether the king would stop his son. He then looked at the council, at the alphas but they were all staring as if they didn’t know what else to do.

On one hand, having Rania out of their sights was really a good idea, but then if Rania was gone, then they would be having a murderous prince. Would they really have to prosecute Jungwoo too?

"That’s enough!" Han Seong boomed at the crown prince and at the same time, the doors to the throne room opened, and it was not opened willingly, because three warrior bodies were thrown through the palace doors, making the door open of its own volition, finally.

And that got everyone’s attention.

Kim Rania could hear familiar voices, but she was hoping that the prince could choke her even more. She knew they were probably trying to come up with good reasons to make this certain. Ranai was hearing so many voices and she could even hear Nathaniel’s voice.

Obviously, that was just her hallucination and frankly, she was happy at the idea. The hallucinations were always the last stage before a wolf fired and now that she was experiencing them, she knew she would finally be able to end her pain.

And so she waited for the prince’s hands to keep pressing even hard. She waited for the last breath of air. She didn’t wait to hear anything else. She closed her eyes, and held her breath, to make herself fade even faster.

"What the hell is happening?" Alpha Park Jihoon voiced out, when he saw the person who had walked in. It was all so unexpected that even the prince was shocked.

However, in his shock, instead of letting Rania go he choked even harder. This time, it was unintentional, but Rania was still getting choked. Everyone who had been watching amusedly looked at the person who had walked in, and it was almost like they were seeing a tsunami.

"Sweet goddess, thank you," Han Seong whispered softly, and that was all it took for Rania to open her eyes. She knew she was slowly grasping at the final straws, but then what Han Seong had said got her curious.

Han Seong had promised not to say anything, and for him to say that, it had to mean that the other person was here.

The person who had entered the room stared angrily at everyone, before their eyes went to the prince who had been choking Rania of course, Rania had already begun turning blue but that didn’t even matter right now, because they all were in trouble.

Before they could do or say anything, the whole of the throne room saw their prince flying across the room, before his body hit the wall and the prince fell, but not without them hearing the cringe sound of broken bones in the room.

Damn, that was a strong hit.

"No one. Absolutely no one is allowed to lay a finger on my Rania. Fight me if you must, but I must warn you, you will all be dead, before you can even think about it," the person growled out, and the whole room went eerie silent.
