Chapter 65: What Did You Do To Her?

[JUNGWOO]

"She killed her, because your sister, Yanna, was my mate," Jihoon said as he stared into the eyes of the werewolf prince. The reminder of what Rania had done to him, made him feel like he needed to rush to Incayon and murder the woman.

However, as he had reminded himself over and again, killing her was too good a mercy for the woman who had taken his happiness. He would avenge his woman, with or without the help of the werewolf prince. He didn’t care what the prince would try to do anyway.

"Impossible—"

"Look, I know you’re her best friend. But that woman took the life of a woman I loved. The woman the goddess had meant for me. She took the love of my life like he was walking on a fresh grass path.

"So don’t you sit there and defend her, because then you and I will have nothing to discuss except official matters," Jihoon said to the prince, his voice straining out from the hurt he was experiencing.

"I don’t understand. Did she want you to be her mate? Instead of Yanna or what?" Jungwoo insisted. He needed to know. If he was going to go after his best friend, he would know the truth and what happened between Jihoon and Rania.

And so Jihoon gave the prince a rundown of everything that happened with Rania. From her first rejection to her proclamation that she didn’t want any mate. From her parents abandoning her to her people hating on her.

He didn’t even leave out the bit where they were once a peaceful community until the psychotic Rania happened. To Jihoon, Rania was the devil reincarnate and that was what he relayed to the prince, even as he talked of the way Rania had stabbed Yanna on the battlefield unprovoked.

Jihoon told the prince that everyone in Obren knew what she had done, but none of them had the power to make her do anything, because they figured revenge was Calindra’s. And Jihoon hadn’t yet gotten the perfect way to eliminate Rania yet.

By the time Jihoon was done, Jungwoo was raging mad. Maybe he had gotten only one side of the story, but if Rania sent him here, then she had wanted to hear it from the cruelest perspective.

Was Rania pulling away from him? But the most important question right now, was why Rania had truly murdered his sister. If it was for power, didn’t she already have enough?

"She killed my sister, to cripple you," Jungwoo finally let out, realization hitting him so hard that he wanted to puke after forty-five minutes of listening to Jihoon. He couldn’t believe how low his best friend had stooped and didn’t even want to know anything else.

"I’m taking an army to Incayon. I’ll kill her myself," Jungwoo said as he got up and headed for the door, but Jihoon stopped him. If he went out there then there would be repercussions worse than the fact that Rania had murdered Yanna.

"I can’t let you do that," Jihoon said, as he scratched his neck nervously. Of course, he was worried that the prince would command him, but he was hoping that the prince would extend him the courtesy of listening, considering he had just saved the prince’s life.

Sure, the other psycho had helped too, but that didn’t matter a lot right now, yeah?

"Out of my way, Jihoon," Jungwoo said, casually addressing the alpha. He had saved his life and they were clearly lost in the formalities.

"Think, Jungwoo, think. If you go out there and after Rania, and that too because of Yanna. The kingdom will want to know why you went after her and more than anything, they would question why you went to get justice for a woman who died five years ago.

"You need to have an explanation for them. And if you have one already, think of what that will mean to the crown or your parents. If your father knew that Yanna was your mother’s child, with the crown’s greatest enemy, the vampire king.

"People will question your mother’s virtues and her abilities, not to mention they will demand a cast out for your mother. You know how this shit works so well. You may have been in the damn dungeon, but you were born a royal. So think.

"The world will know that Yanna was a hybrid, and they will want to know where Rania got her blade from—" Jihoon ranted angrily as Jungwo interrupted him. Did this prince even know the repercussions of everything?

For someone who had been through so much pain himself, he sure wasn’t aware of how the world worked on the outside. Maybe that’s why his eyes weirdly brightened up when Jihoon was talking about his very dead sister.

"That. Exactly that!" the prince explained as he sat back down. Jihoon had given him a rundown of all the consequences if he talked about his sister and he was freaking excited? There had to be something wrong with him, right?

"I’m sorry, WHAT???" Jihoon asked like he wanted to hear the prince speak up. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

"You’re right. If I go to her now, I’ll raise so many questions, not to mention I organized a party. Everyone will despise the crown for everything and that can’t just happen because of Rania. My sister was a hybrid.

"Sure, it breaks my heart to think of her or even talk of her as someone in the past, but maybe I can use that to help you with your vengeance against her," Jungwoo said and Jihoon just stared at him.

This prince clearly didn’t know Kim Rania. That woman didn’t even care for her life, so what the fuck would she even begin to care about what happened or was about to happen?

"You don’t know Rania. She doesn’t give two shits about everything including her life. Well, everything except for Dalrae. But I would advise you not try turning Dalrae against Rania, because you will never succeed.

"The woman is loyal to her best friend. And we can’t harm Dalrae, because the last time someone tried that, his whole family was miraculously ripped to pieces, and the body parts were found in the open, at their doorstep. Piled up like some stupid Christmas tree.

"Everyone knew it was Rania, but no one had the evidence that it was her. So not even the king could do anything. If you love yourself, stay clear of making Dalrae so much as cry or feel terrible.

"Or you will be sentencing the whole of Obren to death by Rania," Jihoon said like it was a truth they had all come to accept.

Pain had turned Rania into what she was today.

Pain had broken her and ruined her and the engineers of her pain were the very people who depended on her.

"Wow, that’s gruesome. So what? The whole nation is just sitting by while she goes ahead on her agendas like life means nothing?" Jungwoo asked. He still didn’t understand why everyone was so comfortable with Rania spiraling out of control before them.

"You are not listening, Jungwoo. Rania will never attack anyone, who doesn’t try attacking her or Incayon, and worse, her best friend. She’s like the sleeping lion. She only acts when provoked and everyone already knows that," Jihoon said and even though Jungwoo was pissed with Rania, he had one question for Jihoon.

"If that’s so, then what did you do to her, for her to come after my sister, and your mate?"
