Chapter 64: Your Sister’s Fate, Was Her Doing

[JUNGWOO]

The ride to Calindra was a quiet one. Jeon Jungwoo hadn’t known what Rania meant and frankly, he was scared of the truth. He felt like whatever he was going to find out in Calindra, would either make or break their friendship.

’Let me know if you think the same after meeting with Jihoon,’ Rania had told him, and boy did he feel like he was walking into a tornado.

"My prince, we’re here," one of the royal warriors said to Jungwoo who was still stuck in his thoughts of Rania and her cryptic sentence.

What the hell did she even mean by that anyway? 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

Maybe he was being too curious, or maybe, maybe today wouldn’t be a good day for a party after all.

"Oh, let’s go in then! I’ll extend the invite to Jihoon and you guys can go invite the other pack alphas alright? And before you complain about my safety, and blah, I won’t move an inch from Calindra till you guys come back, I promise," Jungwoo said.

For someone who had wanted to invite every leader himself, he suddenly didn’t feel like it. He was worried.

The tone Rania had used had been a little too different. It screamed danger and untold truths.

"Alright," the warriors agreed and headed to the gates. As usual, the warriors made a declaration of the prince coming to Calindra and Jihoon was there to welcome him. Jihoon’s beta, Dahyun had noticed something was different with the prince, but maybe he was just thinking too much, right?

"Greetings my prince," Jihoon greeted Jungwoo, before he noticed the unlively nature of the prince today. He didn’t look happy and it wasn’t because he had come home. After a few discreet sniffs here and there, Jihoon could tell that they were from Rania’s pack.

Did she tell him what she did to his sister?

Was that why he was here?

Jihoon had so many questions. He was curious to know what lie Rania had spinned to make the prince go from her home to his place. But what if Jihoon was just being paranoid?

"Greetings Alpha Jihoon. I have urgent matters to discuss with you, if you please," Jungwoo said in the politest tone, but everyone knew the prince never asked for things. He made commands, so for him to be here like this, he was trying to hold back.

"Alright. Everyone go back to your stations and get ready for the Obren party at the palace. Those who want to go can go, those who don’t want to, keep your peace. Remember, love and unity!" Jihoon said and his wolves cheered on.

The Calindra wolves were all excited for the party since their alpha had announced it yesterday. There had been a long discussion on the safety of the wolves, but Jihoon had convinced them that the king would have more than enough security to make sure his son was safe.

No one would get in and out of the palace like they wanted to. If anything, once they walked in, the only way they were walking out was after a day. That’s why Jihoon had given them the option of staying in Calindra or going.

Besides, Calindra was a free and democratic pack, and they adored their alpha.

"Love and unity!" they responded before dispersing.

"What is it, my prince?" Jihoon asked even though he was curious about what it was. For someone who had been smiling yesterday, today he looked like shit, but hey, no one was calling out anyone right?

"Rania sent me to you—"

"So she told you, huh?" Jihoon sighed, before running his fingers through his hair and getting up. He should have expected this. He should have known that that woman would gladly reopen his wounds.

Jihoon was clenching and unclenching his fists subconsciously thanks to the anger he was feeling right now. Kim Rania was a devil and no one could convince him otherwise about the damned woman. Taking his mate wasn’t enough and now she probably instigated the werewolf prince too?

’Calm down, Jihoon. Everyone can feel your anger, and it’s screwing with them,’ Dahyun said to the alpha who was still pissed. But for the sake of his people, he would try to be rational.

Dahyun wasn’t here with him, considering the prince had requested that they talk to each other alone in the office. It was crazy how much had happened because of Rania and now it seemed like she was at it again.

"Told me what?" Jungwoo asked, as he stared curiously at the pacing alpha. Jihoon looked distraught, almost like Rania had looked. The only difference was that this time, Rania had been looking worse than the Calindra alpha.

"She kicked me out," Jungwoo said plainly, and Jihoon snickered. He had been staring at the wall all this time, giving the royal prince his back, but when he heard Jungwoo’s statement, he couldn’t help but turn back as fast as he could.

"Wow," Jihoon said before letting out a lonely laugh.

"Heyy, it’s not funny," Jungwoo sighed defeatedly, and Jihoon looked at him, like he was waiting for the prince to form a pout or something, but his eyes were different from his tone. While his tone seemed dejected, his eyes were angry and it wasn’t directed toward Jihoon.

"Aren’t you supposed to be the second most powerful wolf in Obren? And you were kicked out by the psycho? I guess it’s just amazing what Rania can do," Jihoon continued and the prince glared at him. This man was happy with his misery.

"Okay, fine, what did you do to make her kick you out?" Jihoon asked, like he was already expecting a cheesy or childish answer from the prince.

The fact that the prince had been locked up for years, could have meant that he didn’t have the chance to fully develop and see Rania. One of his best friends, could have brought him joy or even gotten him suggesting stupid idea, right?

"I invited her to the party, and guess what she said, ’let me know if you think the same after meeting with Jihoon,’" Jungwoo said to Jihoon, his voice getting a little girly, cold, and bored as he tried to imitate Rania’s voice and demeanor.

"You are the reason I was kicked out. So tell me, what is it that she thinks will make me see her differently? I mean I know she’s an alpha, so she’s definitely killed people, and has obviously done horrible things, probably why both of you are called the psychotic alphas.

"— but what could be worse than that? What would make her that lonely, and have her thinking that I wouldn’t want to associate with her? I don’t think anything will mak—" Jungwoo said and Jihoon cut him short.

"She murdered Yanna."

"What?" Jungwoo breathed out quietly, his voice losing its weight as he stared at Jihoon, waiting for him to call this some sort of weird prank that he was playing on him because of Rania. There had to be a mistake somewhere.

"Rania murdered my sister? But she seemed to know that Yanna was my sister, so why would she?" Jungwoo asked like he was ready to defend Rania to the ends of the world. It just didn’t make sense. None of this did and maybe that’s why he was so frustrated by it all.

"She killed her, because your sister Yanna, was my mate."
