Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 55: Just A Normal Day For Her
[DRARUN]
"Great, at least we get to leave this place," Rania said as she walked along with the boys. She hated it here and every fiber of her being wanted her to leave and go home but she couldn’t. And that alone did put her in a dangerous position in Calindra.
These people wanted her blood and if she wasn’t careful, she would spill more of theirs than they spilled hers, and that wasn’t really part of her plan to disappear peacefully from Obren. It would get all the attention on her and she hated that already.
"Whatever, no one wants you here anyway," Daehyun said and Jungwoo almost snapped his head off, but he held himself back. He hated how people were talking about Rania though. Couldn’t they see that this woman had brought home the royal prince?
Now that they were in Calindra, Jungwoo had noticed a few things.
One of them was the fact that Jihoon never once mentioned meeting his sister, even though he was the Calindra alpha. It would have made sense for him to present Yanna to the prince as it would be proof that the princess was safe. But the calindra alpha didn’t.
Instead, they had been rushed towards the stables in an attempt to get away from the whole ruckus. The anger that the people of Calindra felt was real and it was like they were willing to do anything to harm Rania.
The woman in question hadn’t even been bothered by the mere fact that her life was on the line, It was almost like she was used to this.
’What happened here?’ Jungwoo asked himself when they reached the stables, considering the royal horses they had been given, well they had left them at Drarun.
Hopefully, Nathaniel didn’t find them sooner. But since the horses were royal, the chances of them being found out were higher than the chance of Jungwoo knowing what was going on between Rania and Jihoon.
The two of them hadn’t had a normal conversation and Jihoon hadn’t once stopped his people from hurting Rania. What was going on?
Unable to stomach the silence, Jungwoo tried to speak up, but Rania beat him to it.
"Time is not on our side. Are these horses fast or will we spend years on the road? I don’t have that time to waste. I need to know if Dalrae is okay," Rania said to Jihoon who just rolled his eyes at her. He didn’t care about what Rania wanted right now.
"Take any horse here, we are going together anyway. If yours is slower, we will help you out. Now pick one and shut the fuck up. We don’t have all day, just like you said,’’ Jihoon said coldly and Jungwoo flinched.
Maybe these two were enemies because their territories were enemies, right? Maybe that was the reason they didn’t want anyone to know that they had been getting along in Drarun, even for the few hours they had been together, right?
"With pleasure," Rania said as she chose one horse, and led her outside the stables. She didn’t even wait for Jungwoo and Jihoon. Instead, she saddled to the exit of Calindra.
It was almost like Calindra was suffocating her. Maybe it really was, after all, she had murdered their luna and they wanted her dead. Well, the whole of Obren wanted her dead anyway.
"What’s wrong with her?" Jungwoo asked when he saw Rania take off. He wasn’t sure this was what he had expected, but then having been away from home for so many years, there had to have been a lot of changes.
"Trust me, no one understands Kim Rania. Even if you try, you’ll have a headache and the whole of Obren after you. I know you’re the prince and all, but just a heads-up. Everyone in Obren hates Kim Rania. That is all I can tell you at the moment.
"I know you’re curious about your sister, but we have to report to your father first before you can come to visit her," Jihoon said the last bit, lying through his teeth.
He knew if Jungwoo knew Yanna was dead, he wouldn’t leave this place and the king would frown upon the delivery of the worst and the cruelest alphas that Obren had ever produced.
They had been away for almost two weeks but that wasn’t enough time for Rania and Jihoon to be angels as by the books of Obren. Their status in the kingdom was the same. They were still ruthless alphas who had no care in the world except for their people.
And Rania, despite loving her people so much, they would always want her dead, dead and dead.
"That’s complicated. Can I ask why everyone hates Rania? What did she do?" Jungwoo asked and Jihoon sighed as they walked out of the stables. With their werewolf sight, they could see Rania waiting for them at the main exit of Calindra.
Jihoon knew Rania was safest out of his territory, because anyone who tried to attack her outside the borders would be looking for the easiest ways to the goddess, and that had happened more than once.
The irrationality that came with the hate for Rania had made so many people lose their lives in the hands of that very woman. Sure, she had defended herself from the people who attacked her in a bid to kill her but with every murder attached to her name, the citizens wanted her gone.
The king couldn’t do anything because she had fought in self-defense. Anyone with sense knew better than to try and fight ’the Kim Rania’ but then, there were always going to be a few who had holes in their heads. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"Honestly, please don’t. I know you’re the prince and you rank way above me, but for today, let’s just pretend that we three were tasked with heading to the king’s palace alright?
"That is what matters today, because if you start understanding everything that has happened since you were away, you will either go crazy, or you might join the Obren hate train. Your best friend came for you.
"You owe her at least gratitude for that, before you get to understand why the whole race wants her gone, even the damned rogues," Jihoon said earnestly; if Jungwoo didn’t know any better, he could assume that both Rania and Jihoon were mates.
However, that was impossible and the rejections over the years had long proved that.
"Alright, then. Let’s go before she shoots us with her eyes," Jungwoo said and that was all Jihoon needed to saddle out of the stables.
Lee Daehyun, Jihoon’s beta, was already taking care of things, so it wasn’t going to be hard for them to go away from Kalindra. Plus there would most certainly be a ceremony in Calindra for the return of the alpha.
It was a stupid tradition that Jihoon had tried to get out of, but his people loved him too much. It was their way of keeping him safe, considering he had lost his mate in the hands of Rania.
Most of the Calindra wolves believed that their alpha had not yet gone crazy after losing his mate, because they had been there for him.
However, there were very few who had noticed the difference that Jihoon and any alpha who lost their true mates had. They couldn’t say a word though, because they loved their alpha, and they couldn’t prove anything.
Maybe time would prove them worn, but what if time didn’t?
"Let’s go home, Rani," Jungwoo said to Rania and she just nodded before they saddled to the palace. Everything that had happened in the few minutes they had been at Calindra didn’t stop bothering Jungwoo though.
The tone Jihoon had used was making him think of a lot of things and the more he thought about everything, the one he could tell that Rania had done something to the people of Calindra, or to the people of Obren.
Because it was impossible to have a whole damn race and the supernatural world hate on you when you didn’t have issues.
It took them seven hours to saddle to the palace and boy were they dehydrated and hungry. However, when they got to the gates, the royal warriors declined the entry of the trio, saying they were unknown and could be hostels in their homes.
"None of you is allowed in here," the warrior said and it was then that Rania’s patience decided to take a break. After all, sometimes, her madness would make things better than they already were.
