Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 52: Well Damn, That Was Wild
[DRARUN]
When the king left, the trio was left standing like they had just heard one of the most disturbing news in the world.
Jungwoo was still mad at Nathaniel for abandoning his daughter in Obren when he could have been a better father. With him, Yannna wouldn’t have been treated like a bastard and she would have lived the life of a princess.
Sure Yanna was a hybrid, but she was a powerful werewolf. She had all it took to bring down a whole superpower. And maybe that’s why Jungwoo talked of his sister proudly as he looked at Rania’s shocked face.
Maybe Rania had thought that Jungwoo would tell the king that he was his son, but that would have been a lie. The prince of Obren was just that. A prince of the werewolves. His sister, on the other hand, was something else.
"Sorry Rani, I figured it out a few years ago, when I noticed how Mother treated Yanna differently from all the other wolves in calindra and even Obren. But maybe that’s cool. I’ll introduce you to her.
"I promise she’s a nice girl, probably with a temper like yours, so yeah," Jungwoo said nervously.
He was to be executed today and all he needed was to be in his best friend’s arms. So he rushed to Rani, and engulfed her in a hug. She still remained stoic and still after Jungwoo’s revelation.
Jihoon looked at Jungwoo and frankly, he wasn’t sure if that was a twist he had expected. Of course, Rania and Jihoon knew who Yanna truly was but they never expected the prince to know about it too. Then again, it was already weird enough that they were in the land of the undead, right?
Rania couldn’t believe what she had just heard, and as much as she wanted to be herself, she couldn’t. How was she supposed to tell Jungwo that the sister he had talked of so dearly was dead and that too, by her own hands?
How was she supposed to make the prince understand that she had very valid reasons and was within the werewolf rules when she murdered Yanna in cold blood?
Rania looked at Jihoon, the man whose wounds had just been reopened, only that this time, he knew he had someone to fight alongside him for the justice of Yanna. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Finally, the girl who shouldn’t have died, according to Jihoon, would get her justice. But until then, they would stay rational. If they said shit about Yanna’s death, then Rania was a dead woman, and Jungwoo would probably never go back home.
It was all too risky for both of them. So when Jungwoo pulled out from the hug and saw Rania’s cold eyes, he was sure it was because he hadn’t told her about her sister.
Besides, he knew Rania, and he knew that at her coldest, was when she cared the most. And right now, something was bothering her.
He could tell.
"C’mon guys, cheer up!" Jungwoo said. He didn’t want them to stay sad because of him. Life was already doing its worst to him and he didn’t want them to join the bandwagon of hopelessness.
Rania looked at her best friend and for the first time, she wanted to smack his head. He was about to be executed and was simply worried about them, who weren’t even in trouble at the moment.
"Nathaniel just pushed your execution to thirty minutes and you’re happy?" Rania asked coldly. Jungwoo rubbed his hand at the back of his head nervously. He had already expected Rania to be pissed, but this kind of pissed was just something else.
There was something in Rania’s eyes, something that was so close to fear. But then again what was it that scared Kim Rania? She had already lost all that she could possibly lose but here she was, with raw fear manifesting itself in her eyes.
Jungwoo wanted to ask why she was worried. He wanted to know whether she was okay, but he could tell that today, her focus would always be on him.
She had crossed the realms for him, because she believed that she would get him back, and his execution being pushed this fast wasn’t really something that he thought was possible.
"Relax Rani, I trust you. Besides, YOU came for me and I know for a fact that you won’t let me die" Jungwoo said. He was confident in the abilities of his long-time best friend. Together they were a formidable team, and that was even without Jihoon joining them.
Now that the Calindra alpha was part of the mission, they were certain that everything would be okay.
Jungwoo knew Jihoon had questions. Sure, he already knew that the guy was the Calindra alpha, but the question of Yanna and her true identity was something that could perplex everyone.
However, as he had noticed earlier when he was talking about Yanna, Jungwoo had seen the sadness on both Rania and Jihoon’s face. He wanted to believe that they were sad on his behalf, but that was just his wishful thinking.
Two people who were polar opposites couldn’t be united by one sad story, which for all they knew, was a rough ploy by the prince of Obren so that he could get out of here.
"Well, I gotta chain you and drag you out there, you ready?" Jihoon asked. He didn’t know what to say to Rania. they both needed to take in a new reality that involved Jungwoo.
However, as he looked at the prince, Jihoon couldn’t help but be glad that he was so close to getting his answers about why Rania had murdered his ate in cold blood. He was aware that Rania wouldn’t ever lie to her best friend.
And maybe Jihoon was reaching, but that was all the hope he needed.
Fate was finally paying attention to him after all the pain he had gone through when his mate had been murdered.
"Yup," Jungwoo responded as he let Jihoon cuff him before dragging him outside.
Rania followed closely behind them. She was still shocked by what she had learned today and even she knew that the universe was playing some sick trick on her. But then again, that was alright. She was more than willing to accept her fate.
"Cheer up Rani, we don’t want you scaring the poor who just realized he has a daughter now, eh?" Jungwoo said when they made it outside. The whole of Drarun had been waiting for the son of Obren to make an appearance.
They wanted to see what the king would do to the only heir to the werewolf throne. It was an insane ask that would definitely create a war between the vampires and the werewolves, but what choice was there?
It wasn’t like any of them would walk up to the king and ask him what his reason was, for fighting with the wolves.
"Damn, it’s so hot out here. I would have come out here soon," Jungwoo said as he pretended to mute out the vampires.
They looked at him pitifully and he didn’t like that. He didn’t want to be pitied. He wanted to show the world that he could take care of himself, but then if he could, he couldn’t have ended up in the dungeons of Drarun.
