Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 240: Hold Up, WHAT?
[RANIA]
"How long are we supposed to wait here? This place is creepy as fuck and it stinks. Makes me wonder how Yanna had managed to live here throughout the years.
"She must have really been a piece of work surviving here," Dalrae complained as they sat in Yanna’s shelter.
This place looked like shit, it was uncomfortable as fuck and everything about this room was creeping them all out. It was still a wonder how the fuck a beautiful and sensible woman like Yanna had managed to stay here and be like this.
For all they knew, Yanna Petrova had been crazy, but this kind of crazy really called for major intervention. It just wasn’t alright, but what if this was Yanna’s comfort?
Dalrae had suggested earlier that they change the setup and even try to clean the house but Rania had refused her suggestion.
It was not because she loved the smell of the goddamn shelter but because this was the only place that would give them insights into what had happened to and with Yanna.
Well, technically everyone didn’t know what to look for but Kim Rania did, and she had found her answers.
"Don’t worry Lim Lim, I already got what we came to look for and it’s perfect," Rania said excitedly like she had been waiting for this for so long.
It was hard to tell what her interests were, but even so, it was confusing to explain that she had been looking for a particular thing.
"What is that even supposed to mean?" Dalrae asked her sister.
"Drarun. That’s where we are headed," Rania said gleefully and they all took that moment to look at her. They were trying to understand her and how her brain worked.
Maybe they had been thinking differently but didn’t Rania realize that they had baggage with them?
"I’m sorry but did you miss the part where we dragged Jihoon and Daehyun with us? How are we supposed to tag along with them to Drarun?" Dalrae asked and Rania just let out a dark chuckle as she looked at her mate and the beta.
She knew that her idea wasn’t the nicest but her hands were being forced right now and she had to act either way.
"No, Lim Lim. We’re not going with them. We’ll leave them here and Odelia can look after them. I know we don’t like splitting up, but we have to get this done and as you said, we can’t drag levels to Drarun with them," Rania said and Odelia looked at her with approval.
Odelia didn’t feel like leaving Obren today and she had already told Rania that. Someone had to stay and make sure that Incayon was safe.
If the other packs knew that Rania and her misfits were on their way to Drarun then that would leave Incayon very vulnerable and the king would probably try attacking them again.
"Here in this stinking shelter?" Han asked because he didn’t understand how Rania would leave one of their own in a shelter so stinky even the goddess would have burned it down.
"No. I’ll be taking them with me to Incayon. You will create a mini portal," Odelia said, and Han relaxed.
The road to Incayon wasn’t exactly the best of roads at the moment and if someone was to go there, they needed to be fully armed and very careful. But right now, there wasn’t any security, given that their team was being downsized.
"I’ll go with her. We need all the power we can have back there," Han volunteered and Rania looked at him skeptically. Was he going to sit this one out?
Rania had noticed that he had been looking at Seto the whole time.
It was almost like he truly didn’t want to be around Kaia Seto. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
And while that was understandable because of the possible history that they might have had with the witches and him, it all just didn’t make any sense and female Rania was curious.
She wasn’t sure where to start. So she just pointed it out.
"Hold up. You never sit out important missions. And yet you are sitting out this one. And you’ve been staring at Kai the whole time.
"What the hell is going on with the both of you?" Rania asked not to let go and understand the possible chaos that the two would cause. She didn’t mind that they wanted to have a go at each other, but Han had always been on her side.
Han Seong never faltered and never backed down when it came to keeping Rania safe and yet right now, he was backing down. He was trying to keep his distance and that was more than just strange.
All of this just didn’t make any sense and the sooner they explained, the sooner they would go on and try to figure out whatever the fuck was happening here.
"I don’t have to go on this one, Rani. Kaia is there with you and you have Chang Wook too, not to mention Dalrae. You are in good hands. Really good Hands. I have to be there to protect the wolves of Incayn along with Odelia.
"Besides, now that Paloma and the rogues are on their way to the palace, we should be ready for anything, don’t you think?" Han said.
However, Rania still wasn’t convinced there was something between the two and there were instances when it was just pure bad blood yet right now, Han seemed to be reasoning with Rania.
This was confusing as fuck, but maybe Han was right. Incayon did need protection. Incayod did need all the armies they could get, but was that ever going to be enough?
"But Han—"
"It’s okay, little wolf. You really are in good hands like he said. Besides, we already have three powerful people on our team, why do we have another when the powers are just the same anyway, right?
"And if there’s anyone I would trust with making sure no one harms a hair on any incayon wolf’s head, then it would be him," Kaia said, confusing Rania and the rest even more.
Odelia was trying to understand them, because even she wasn’t sure what was going on between Kaia Seto and Han Seong.
It was sad and weird in so many ways and as much as they wished for it to be comforting, those two on the same side, without Rania forcing them to function together was actually scary.
"Did I miss the part where the both of you reconciled? Or am I the only one who remains confused? Something is going on between these two, and I think they should tell us if we are going to war with them.
"Don’t get me wrong, I trust Han with my life and strangely even Kaia too, but Han Seong never leaves. He never trusts a stranger, much less someone like Kaia Seto.
"So what the hell is going on?" Dalrae asked as she looked at the two men.
"She knew that it had to be more than met the eye and frankly, the fact that Han and Kaia were agreeing was worse than the stench in the room.
"It was crazy how so much had changed and now they were here at this point. So many questions were lingering, but maybe they would get their answers, right?
"He’s my twin."
