Chapter 157: So Glad We Said ’Please’

[RANIA]

King Seojoon looked at the delinquents before him.

He knew that they meant every word they said and with Chang Wook making it known that he was the warrior healer, the king knew he had no other choice but to give them what they wanted.

There was a reason Chang Wook was called the warrior healer, even though there was nothing healing about him. He was a product of magic, or rather, the things King Seojon had done to him had forced him into what he was today.

Chang Wook was a warlock and would easily be welcome in the Valley of the Whites despite being born a wolf. He had so many privileges and no one in the realm wanted to fuck with the warrior healer.

As a matter of fact, when the warrior healer had chosen peace twenty years ago and left the realm, everyone had let out sighs of relief because they wouldn’t be walking on eggshells anymore. But then Seojoon just had to bring him home, no?

"You wouldn’t dare," King Seojon said with a sneer on his face.

And in that moment, Chang Wook took the treaty that had been stamped with the royal seal, and tore it into pieces, even though it was in a way that replicated the broken treaty into several tiny sheets that would grow bigger once they reached the intended targets.

Looking at Seojoon in the eyes, Chang Wook cast a spell that sent the treaty to the worst of the rogues in Paloma’s Altunia. He knew the bastards who would never take any betrayal towards their queen and their fellow rogues lightly.

"Let’s wait for the outcomes, shall we?" Chang Wook said and King Seojoon glared at the Kim siblings like they were a nuisance he wanted to rid himself of. So he used the mind link and commanded his warriors to lock the doors.

Even then the Kim siblings just stared at the king and the warriors with amused faces. Surely this man didn’t think they were going to be finding different routes out of the throne room before they got what they wanted, right?

Besides, it wasn’t like they wanted the whole kingdom today.

The kingdom belonged to Jungwoo, and it would always remain so, because as much as the crown prince was a brainless tart, he was still Kim Rania’s best friend. She wasn’t going to abandon him just because he had lashed out at her once.

She would always protect him anyway.

"You are not leaving here," the crown king said as he unsheathed his sword.

The warriors in the room knew that there was no way they would be taking any sense into the king, so they also arched their swords and got ready to fight for a crown that didn’t give two shits about them.

They were just weapons for the crown and they knew that too, but damn, for the first time, they wished they knew what it was they were fighting for, especially since they knew that most of them would end up dead in this pointless squabble anyway.

"You’re cute," Chang Wook scoffed at the king, when he saw Seojoon walk towards him.

He had been waiting for this moment for a long time and frankly, Chang Wook wanted to kill him here and there, but for the suffering he had endured, a quick death would be too good a mercy for the bad king.

"You ready, Rani?" Chang Wook asked his sister who was licking her lips like this was the best thing that had happened to her.

Kim Rania had a lot of pent-up anger and with her philosophy to never attack unless attacked she had never gotten to the point of lashing out, not to innocents.

And this right here was her chance, and she was going to make good use of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. She would let it all out and whatever was left, she would use it to teach Yanna to never fuck around with her again.

"Very," Rani said before fist bumping the brother whose true identity wasn’t neon to her yet. But that wasn’t an issue at the moment, because they had warriors to deal with and a king whose ass needed to get kicked.

And so the siblings fought the king and the warriors. Chang Wook avoided attacking the king, even when Seojoon came at him in full force. He defended himself, making sure to not be hit by the king, and definitely not hit the king.

Instead, the focus of the warrior healer was on the warriors in the room, the warriors his sister was ruining like they were pickles on a piece of paper. Oh, but Rani was brutal.

For a woman without a sword, she had managed to take out a good number of the warriors.

Her brother had been stealing glances at her fighting style and slowly, he was realizing why everyone had been scared of her. She was a good warrior, one who didn’t mind getting into the battlefield, but one who was also good at ruining things.

For an hour, the siblings fought the warriors while the warrior healer made the king his main target and focus. He wanted to remind Seojoon what it meant to be Chang Wook and what it meant to be the warrior healer.

He was deliberately getting the king tired and it was working. Of course, Seojoon had noticed that too, in the first five minutes of their fight, but he couldn’t just give up when his warriors were laying their lives here in this room.

"Finish them all!!" the king shouted and the remaining warriors standing cheered on soullessly. They were tired and were sure this was a fight they couldn’t win.

Three-quarters of their teammates were already dead on the floor that they had been sure would be littered with the blood of the two delinquents. The tables turned faster, but what if the tables had never really turned?

What if they knew they had come to a suicide mission the moment the two siblings had breached their gates and walked in like they were here fo a damn fucking ceremony? What was the point of them holding back anyway?

"You really are a selfish king, Seojoon. It makes me wonder what your people would think of this if they knew what you really are. Even after all this time, you are still making the same mistake as you did all those years ago.

"You must really be obsessed with seeing your warriors bleeding, huh?" Chang Wook asked once the warriors were all dead and the only people left standing were Kim Rania, Chang Wook, and the werewolf king who was devastated and shocked.

He had been so sure that he would handle the two but then as it was, the two had once again defeated him. And they hadn’t even used Chang Wook’s magic.

Granted, the two siblings had scratches on them, but it was nothing compared to the shame that graciously sat on King Seojoon’s face when his son walked through the throne room doors and saw all those warriors dead.

Prince Jeon Jungwoo could see his father was standing there with a sword that didn’t even have blood on it. He had once again failed his people so what explanation would he give his son this time?

"What the hell happened here?" Jungwoo asked as he walked deeper into the room, careful not to step on the dead bodies.

He could feel his heart breaking at the sight of his bloodied best friend, but he knew this wasn’t the time for him to be emotional.

It wouldn’t do them any good.

"Wanna fight me?" Chang Wook goaded Jungwoo who looked at him angrily and yet defeatedly.

"No, he won’t fight you. You wanted your positions back, then you have them. Don’t expect me to come to incayon and tell Lim Dalrae to vacate the alpha position for the both of you.

"That is something you must deal with yourselves," the king said and Rania high-fived her brother in excitement. They had really done it this time and that called for celebration.

"You should have just started with that, instead of watching us murder all your precious warriors in this room. As for the alpha position in Incayon, that’s none of your concern.

"Dalrae is ours to worry about and protect as we see fit. Anyway, now that we got what we wanted, we shall take your leave. Don’t be tempted to take back your word, because we still have the royal seal.

"And what’s more, I know something that your queen, Eunbi dear, doesn’t want you or Nathaniel to know.

"Have fun cleaning alright, and goodbye," Chang Wook said to the king, ignoring the gasp of the queen who had just walked in, and the angry smirk on Jungwoo’s face. These siblings were really a nuisance huh?

"Seriously?" Jungwoo asked and Rani just walked past him, but not before giving her best friend a kiss on the cheeks.
