Chapter 120: Chapter 120—Final Conclusion

The three of them finally arrived at Cole’s previous home. But a problem arose when they got home.

"How do we hold down such a spiriter?" Linda asked.

From the ability the leader displayed earlier, it was obvious tying him down won’t work since he could just expand and tear all of the bindings apart.

"Just tie him, but someone must be here to watch over the two of them," Cole said.

"Alright then, I take the first turn," Bryan said.

"Huff, this has been extremely exhausting. Thankfully this will be our last night here," Linda said while stretching.

"It is," Cole said while looking around the room. The room had been completely empty since they arrived.

They will be leaving tomorrow, and there are still no signs of Mr. Evans.

"I hope you are fine," Cole muttered before turning around to move to his room.

Over in the room, Linda was already waiting, but Cole didn’t mind all that at all. He just moved to a corner of the room and sat in a lotus position.

But he wasn’t about to cultivate; he just wanted to sit down, relax, and calm all of his raging thoughts and emotions.

While in that position, Cole’s mind drifted to all that had happened since they arrived here. The good ones and the bad ones.

Cole thought of and analyzed each of these events step by step.

"Though there were things we could have done much better, we were still able to figure it out," Cole said while looking at Linda.

They were done with their first mission, and now all that was left was for them to return to the academy and report everything.

Cole’s thought continued for a while until Bryan returned to the room.

"Cole, you are up," he said.

Cole was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard that; he then stood to his feet and moved towards the other room.

And just like how they had planned, the three of them took turns watching the room until day finally broke. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

While Cole was watching, they regained consciousness about twice, and Cole had to knock them unconscious again.

When the day finally broke, Cole and his teammates sat in a circle as they prepared to plan their next moves.

"Before we return to that place, I would like to do some things first."

"Something like what?" Linda asked.

"Firstly, I would like to have a final meeting with that man and also visit one specific space."

"I get that you want to have a final consultation with that man, but what specific place are you planning to go to?" Linda asked inquisitively.

Bryan also looked enthusiastically prepared to hear Cole’s words.

"It doesn’t really have anything to do with our mission; it is just a personal task," Cole said.

"I think that’s already obvious enough; I am still interested in it," Linda retorted.

"Okay then, you guys can come along," Cole said with a smile.

After they concluded their little meeting, Cole rose to his feet and began heading out, ready to meet the man in the desired location.

He knew they were supposed to meet every day, but he always had something to do, resulting in him forgetting about their meeting.

The last time they met, Cole had to wait for the man to arrive, but this time, the man was already waiting for him the moment he arrived at the bar.

"Boss, boss, you came." The man said in an enthusiastic voice.

"I never thought you would come, since you weren’t here yesterday," he continued his rant.

He was just about to continue his rant when Cole quickly cut him off.

"Have there been any changes?" Cole asked the man.

"I have been diligent with my work, and I made sure I didn’t leave my spot at all."

"I stood on watch from morning to night, making sure no one approached."

"Can you stop all of the small talk and actually answer my question?" Cole berated.

"Oh, sorry, boss, No one approached," the man said in a low voice.

"Hope you also didn’t approach the building too closely," Cole proceeded.

When the next question was asked, now a shift occurred in the air, the previously chatty man quickly grew quiet as he avoided Cole’s gaze.

"Uhmm... I didn’t," they managed to say.

Cole looked at him suspiciously, but he had no way to confirm his suspicion, so he could only keep quiet and accept the man’s words.

"Since there’s nothing else to report, you are free to go."

"No need to report anymore," Cole said.

"Really, boss, am I too useless? I will try to do more in the future," the man said apologetically.

"Stop that,"

"I am done with my missions, so there’s no need to report anymore," Cole said.

"Alright then, boss," the man said while standing on his feet to leave.

Cole still sat in his place as he observed the man leave the bar. Cole tried to look for any anomalies in the man just in case, but he couldn’t find anything.

But unfortunately, if he had actually utilized the Eyes of Scrutiny, he might have prevented some big trouble in the future as a dark line spread all across the man’s back.

Cole sat peacefully in the bar while he observed the interaction of everyone there. But he soon stood on his feet and started leaving the bar to return home.

The sun was still high in the sky when Cole returned home, where he met the other two having some light conversation about their experience in the past few days.

"Are you ready to head towards that place now?" Linda asked the moment she noticed Cole’s presence.

Cole could see the level of enthusiasm on Linda’s face. She seemed really interested in that place.

"Yeah, let’s head over now," Cole said.

"But firstly let’s knock those guys unconscious again before leaving."

Just like Cole said, they knocked the two men unconscious again before they left the building.

From the direction Cole was actually heading, it was mostly obvious he was going towards a place he was not that long ago.

He was heading towards the Arena.
