Chapter 151: The Butcher of Truth And Dare

[INCAYON]

"Do you think I could have a mate?" Rania asked, her eyes not leaving Park Jihoon.

She could feel the pull to go to him, and she knew that it was the side effect of the mating festival but damn, for the first time in so long, she wondered what it would feel like to be wanted by the man who was meant for her.

"Do you want one?" Chang Wook asked carefully.

He knew that Rania had closed her heart off because of the endless rejections, but what he didn’t know was that Park Jihoon was one of the many reasons Rani had closed herself off. She just didn’t want to go through the pain again.

"Honestly, I don’t know," Rania sighed quietly before adding, "Let’s go have some fun with our friends."

"Rani—"

"I’m fine, Chang Wook. I came back for a mission, not to think of mates. The festival is almost over, we need to spend the remaining time with our friends. We both know it’s going to take up most of our time and sanity.

"Hell be damned, we make it out the same way we got in, but we need to get back in the game," Rania said dismissively and Chang Wook sighed. He wasn’t sure what he had expected but Rania closing herself off again wasn’t what he had thought of.

But whatever it was, he just hoped that Rani would be okay after this.

"If you insist. You know you can tell me if anything is eating you up, alright? I won’t hesitate to take a life for you, Rani," Chang Wook reassured

"I know. But let’s get out of here, please," Rania said as she took one last look at Jihoon. Damn, he was hot as hell.

"Okay," Chang Wook said and together they walked back to where their friends were.

"You two look like you saw ghosts," Paloma teased the siblings, and Oshita let out a laugh.

"Are you sure they aren’t the ghosts of the festival?" Oshita added and Paloma smacked him in the head. Something had happened to Rania out there and they knew they had to tread carefully, but was that what Rania wanted?

"Oshita... Truth or dare?" Rani asked, making the man take a few steps back and hide behind Chang Wook. his confidence had decided to leave him in the time he needed it the most. But then he couldn’t be blamed, Rani’s dares were scary as hell.

"I won the last game, so I get to decide, no?" Odelia suddenly added, making everyone there smile at her. They had been expecting her for hours now, but Odelia had been busy with other things.

Now that she was here, the whole team was complete, save for Han Seong who had taken an absence. Han Seong knew that if he came back to Obren, he would be on Jihoon’s side publicly and frankly, he didn’t want to do that.

He had seen the two mates hate each other and care for each other at the same time. If they wanted him to come help, they both knew where to find him, but until then, Han Seong would sit this one out.

Currently, Rania’s team comprised of the Kim siblings, Dalrae, Oshita, Odelia, and Paloma the rogue queen. They had come together for the festival as it was the one palace they could be free without being suspected.

Hopefully, they maintained their covers till the very end of this damn festival.

"Come on Odelia, I’ll help you capture annoying wolves. I will roast them for you myself, please don’t use your wildcard," Oshita pleaded while Dalrae watched amusedly, enjoying the scene before her.

"Where’s the fun in that, Oshita? Besides, didn’t you say that you were never scared of anything?" Odelia said and they all burst out laughing while Oshita looked like he wanted to make a run for it, even though he wouldn’t get far in this state.

"I’ll do anything you want me to," Oshita pleaded and Chang Wook just laughed like the others.

They all knew what was coming for the man and were all feeling terrible for him, but that was where all the fun was and with Rani’s terrible mood, Chang Wook figured this was the easiest way out of this, and the best way to get Rani’s mind off of mates.

"Oh, Oshita. If it makes you feel any better, we are a team right now and we all swore to protect each other with our lives," Chang Wook said, patting Oshita’s back a little roughly in a bid to encourage the man, and it didn’t work because he was still frustrated and scared.

"Yeah right, except leaving me with the butcher of truth and dare. Great," Oshita sighed defeatedly.

"In that case, the rule of the game today is that all are dares. We already know enough truths right now, dares are more fun on occasions like this," Odelia said and they all cheered, their voices mingling with the voices of the cheerful Obren wolves.

"Great. I already set the bonfire, let’s get seated and start alright," Plaoma said and they gathered around the fire, with Dalrae seated between Chang Wook and Rania. She looked happy, being this close to Rania and frankly, Rania was glad her best friend was happy too.

"Back to my question Oshita... Since it’s definite to choose dare, I shall give you my first dare," Rania said with a sinister smile.

"Oh goddess, I’m done for. Can’t I take on everything today, like kitchen duty, do every job that needs to be done? I won’t complain even if it’s a lot," Oshita tried again, and Dalrae felt terrible for him for a moment there. Then again, they were a team, right?

"That would be sweet and all, but we are a team, and the duties were delegated long ago. Now, listen up before the morning comes, or you might be dared to walk stark naked in Obren.

"Imagine the horror of all that," Odelia said, reminding Oshita of one of his worst nightmares but it seemed like the man was more open to walking naked in the kingdom over whatever Rania wanted with him.

"Dude, you shouldn’t be that scared, besides, the worst I could do is to tell you to shave Paloma’s hair. We both know she would probably curse your whole generation," Rania said with a laugh.

She was enjoying seeing Oshita tense and she knew that her dare would make everyone look at her like she was crazy, but the situation demanded that Oshita be the one who took the hit today.

Besides, Oshita was smart like them, and a trickster most of the time.

Surely a trickster wouldn’t be worried about being tricked that easily right?

"Fine, bring it on," Oshita said, breathing in and out so loudly, anyone would think he was having a tank of air in his lungs.

"I dare you to—" Rania began and Oshita interrupted her, making everyone groan out in disbelief.

"Just so I’m clear, no matter what the dare is, you will all have my back, right?" Oshita asked, like he knew it wouldn’t be something nice.

"We are family, and we never leave family behind, Oshita," Chang Wook said with conviction, making Oshita breathe out a sigh of relief.

"I dare you to steal the royal seal from the crown king’s chambers."
