Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 150: But What If... Right?
[INCAYON]
"Still playing dumb even on the mating festival. You must really love playing hide and seek, no?" Yanna said angrily as she glared at the man she had once cherished. The man she had once loved and forced herself to be with in the name of hurting Rania.
However, strangely, now that she looked at Jihoon, Yana couldn’t quite understand what it was that had sent her to Jihoon of all the people. If it wasn’t for her envy of Rania she wouldn’t have gone to Jihoon, right?
Then again, didn’t she know that she was the vampire king’s daughter? Surely that should have been enough power for her, right?
Then again, the fact that she was back in Obren and not in Drarun with her fellow Vampires or even acknowledging the fact that she was a high-born vampire, had to mean that she didn’t know shit. For someone so desperate to have power, she sure was a slow one.
"I guess you were not hallucinating after all," Daehyun said as he looked at Yanna. He could tell that something had pissed the woman off, given how irritable she was and how she was mean to someone who she clearly still needed.
It all just didn’t make sense to Daehyun, but the longer Daehyun put his brains to work, the more he was convinced that Yanna had met Rania. That didn’t sound like a good idea for any of them, really.
"What are you doing here? It has been over five years and you just decided to show up right now? What the hell were you doing out there when I was mourning you? Don’t tell me you came to find a new mate," Jihoon asked, clearly hurt by Yanna’s reappearance. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
She was thinking on overdrive and each time he thought he was going to work things out with himself, there was another puzzle for him to figure out.
He was getting sick of everything that was happening already, but then he wasn’t even aware that his hell had finally arrived and Yanna Park was the least of his worries this time.
"Get over yourself, dude. I don’t owe you any explanation. And yes I’m still alive because that psycho bitch put me to sleep instead of killing me. You want to know more? Find her and maybe she will give you an explanation before she punches your stupid face.
"Until then, excuse me, I got shit to do. Damn, wolves won’t let me have my peace," Yanna said angrily to Jihoon even though with every word from her mouth, she felt like she was stabbing herself in the heart.
Yanna wanted to deny the connection she was feeling with Jihoon desperately. She wanted to pretend like nothing was wrong but everything was wrong. She had never expected that she would fall in love with the man.
Sure, she had gone for the power, but she had made a mistake and now it was costing her everything, including her sanity. She couldn’t handle what was coming for her, but she wasn’t going down without a fight, even if she had to take Jihoon down with her.
"Wow, that was new," Daehyun said as he watched Yanna stagger away.
She wasn’t drunk, but it was obvious she wanted Jihoon to buy into the act of her being drunk as hell. That would be easier to explain instead of saying that she had really wanted to get rid of the man there and then.
Yanna Park was confused as fuck.
On one hand, she wanted Jihoon, on the other, she didn’t want him.
On one hand, she wanted to make Rania feel pain just because she could but on the other, Yanna was scared about the reality that was facing her, a reality that screamed danger with every step and breath she took, and that was the reality of the Kim siblings.
She knew that Chang Wook wasn’t going to stay calm when he heard of what Yanna did, and that was also why Yanna wanted to make an alliance with the man. But how was she supposed to do that? She was frustrated in so many ways and helpless at the same time.
"She’s drunk, she didn’t mean all that. She couldn’t hurt a fly," Jihoon defended and Daehyun walked around his friend to check if there were some missing brain cells.
That was because the man before him couldn’t be the same man who had burnt down everything that reminded him of Yanna because he wanted to create space for new memories of Rania.
"Y’know what man? I’m not strong enough to deal with both of you today. The festival has just one day left and I’m planning on enjoying it. You can decide o fuck yourselves over, but I’m going to have fun alright?
"Being you has to be really confusing and disappointing as fuck," Daehyun said as he sighed and walked away from his best friend.
He had come to unwind at the festival and while he may not have wanted a mate because of the chaos in calindra and Obren for a while, he was going to make sure he had the time of his life.
In the distance, Rania was watching them silently.
It had been long since she had last seen her mate and seeing him this close was something else.
She had expected that she would be fine after she had stopped accepting the mates, but even in that, knowing that Jihoon had been her mate and was the only mate meant for her, made her feel like she was in some sort of a circus.
She was angry and at the same time, she was tempted to think of what life would have been like if she hadn’t gone through all that.
’Maybe it’s the effect of the moon,’ Rani said to herself when she couldn’t find a proper explanation for all that she was feeling right now.
Jihoon had changed outfits in between and right now, as Rani was watching him from a distance, he was in a set of grey sweats. He looked so good with his hair tied up in a neat bun. She could see his sharp jaw and his beautiful nose.
He had grown taller and more muscular, and he looked like the ideal type of man for Rani. He looked perfect, almost like he had been made for Kim Rania, and frankly, he had, but then the man had screwed up big time.
"He’s your mate, isn’t he?" Chang Wook asked when he saw Rania staring at the man in the distance. He had noticed that the Calindra alpha hadn’t once bothered to look for a mate since the festival began.
For a mateless man whose mate was supposed to be dead, and for a man who had the chance to get a second chance mate, Park Jihoon hadn’t looked that interested in anyone, despite the many beautiful women in the night.
"Do you think I could have a mate?" Rania asked, her eyes not leaving Park Jihoon.
She could feel the pull to go to him, and she knew that it was the side effect of the mating festival but damn, for the first time in so long, she wondered what it would feel like to be wanted by the man who was meant for her.
"Do you want one?" Chang Wook asked carefully.
"Honestly, I don’t know, and that scares me."
