Heaven, Earth, Me-Chapter 1521. Embercore Nesting Grounds.
The dragons at the entrance were surprised when something crashed by their side like a meteor and looked over. They all couldn’t help but laugh when they saw the petite and beautiful dragon.
A motherly dragon approached gently and smiled. “Little one, why are you here? Be careful, or the flames are going to hurt you.”
Yasenia, as a dragon not much larger than a powerful and large horse, looked like a recently born dragon. Her proportions were strange in their eyes, as if a large dragon had been miniaturized instead of being just a young one.
Even then, a dragon whose wingspan was around 10 meters and whose body length, including the tail, reached barely above 6 meters, and whose height was just above two meters to the shoulders, was naturally a petite little thing.
‘Ugh… Now that I am not pregnant, they are not treating me tenderly anymore!’
Yasenia complained endlessly in her mind when she heard the soft and mature dragon approach and lean down with a soft look. Looking up, Yasenia blinked and smiled. “Junior, don’t worry. Please step back for a moment, I need a bit of space.”
“Junior?” The motherly dragon was confused when she felt terrifying energies surging toward Yasenia.
The dragon, reaching barely above a kilometer in length, suddenly felt her neck bending as her gaze moved up and up and up until she was looking straight up toward the sky.
The enormous dragon that appeared extended her wings, covering the entire sky above them and illuminating it with the giant Sun and Moon, glittering Starlight on her gorgeous wings.
The motherly dragon’s jaw dropped, not comprehending how the daylight sky suddenly turned into a night sky with a glowing sun.
Then, she saw the gargantuan dragon fold her wings and look down at her with a smile. “Thank you for your concern, junior. I will be going down now.”
And so, Yasenia spread her wings and jumped up, flying forward toward the depths of the volcanic region of the [Embercore Nesting Grounds].
All dragons present couldn’t help but stare as the empyrean dragon flew into the distance.
Meanwhile, Yasenia took a deep breath and felt less burdened than before. ‘I don’t mean to blame my little boy. However, moving without the worry of the child in my stomach is truly… liberating.’
Yasenia knew of her own body’s resilience. Therefore, she was not afraid of being injured. Her usual fighting style, when facing opponents of equal or greater strength, was to exchange injury for injury appropriately.
So, when she was carrying her precious boy, Yasenia didn’t really dare to fight too recklessly.
Her mind focused on the zone ahead of her. “Embercore Nesting Grounds… I wonder what kind of senior I will encounter here. However… This place is on the surface, right? The current ancestors should’ve known about this old ancestor then…”
Her eyes were full of doubt, since Ao Xianlan told her that she could even fly straight to the center of the Embercore Nesting Grounds.
“Perhaps… there is no treasure here?”
Yasenia's body flew forward, covering thousands of kilometers each second without any effort. As a peak Level Three Sixth Realm being, Yasenia’s speed was already able to surpass light speed in a vacuum. Of course, while fighting, it was another very different matter.
One couldn’t compare a sprint with a fight in terms of speed.
Still, Yasenia didn’t rush it much. She closed her eyes lightly, taking in deep breaths. “This volcanic area has endless active volcanoes, and the air is… spicy. Each deep breath carries ash, embers, and the raw energy of the Embercore Nesting Grounds.”
This ash was not damaging, though. Yasenia could see that when the ash touched her innards, it would slowly melt away and transform into beneficial energy, the same for the embers. Clearly, like the Genesis Lightning in the rift, the embers and ash here were tweaked to become beneficial.
“Still, I can see how you can bite off more than you can chew here. I don’t doubt that many reckless individuals have died here, being suffocated.”
The suffocation in this zone was unlike asphyxiation. It was true breathlessness, which snuffed out souls in just a few minutes if one wasn’t careful.
“So, I still have to be careful.”
Her figure covered large distances, her golden eyes observing the change in the landscape. At first, the volcanoes were sparse. Encountering one every 1,000 kilometers would be considered rare, as most were separated by around 3,000 kilometers.
However, as she flew deeper, the sparse black land covered in molten metal rivers changed, becoming more like a volcanic mountain range with deep magma rivers and lakes flowing in between.
The sky had long been covered by a dark cloud, while volcanic lightning rumbled everywhere. Moreover, the eruptions that exploded outward with terrifying shockwaves were as numerous as firecrackers exploding during a celebration.
Yasenia was honestly impressed. “This place is truly violent.”
Even then, her body felt absolutely nothing. Even when she passed through a volcanic cloud with active volcanic lightning, Yasenia’s body didn’t even suffer a small injury.
Seeing her own resilience, Yasenia sighed. “I already knew that my two new treasures had completely transformed my body, but I didn’t expect it to be so exaggerated.”
Just to test, Yasenia took a deep breath in, and she felt the energies wouldn’t really help her much. Even when these energies were here to mainly improve her Dragon Breath, among other benefits, the improvement was extremely slow.
“I guess I really need to go to the core straight away.”
Confirming her speculation, Yasenia didn’t hold back her speed anymore. She activated her movement techniques, and then with a powerful flap, her body boomed forward, becoming a blue phantom in the sky.
After two days of flying at her top speed, Yasenia finally arrived at the core area. However, her eyebrows were furrowed. “I mean… I can sense the improvement. The ash and embers are scorching my lungs and respiratory system, constantly improving my dragon breath. However, at this pace, I will need to stay here for 200 years to see some generous improvements.”
In the central area, Yasenia could see one sky-piercing volcano, surrounded by many others that she could dwarf with her size. Her gaze looked up at the massive volcano at the very center, and she pondered silently.
“...Let’s go take a look.”
With no baby to worry about, Yasenia decided to fly straight up! If she were injured, well, she would retreat.
So, her body glided forward, arriving near the surface of the largest volcano, and then she flew up parallel to the mountain’s slope.
As she flew up, meteors and many other pieces of solid and molten rock fell straight at her. However, Yasenia faintly scoffed and didn’t even bother dodging.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
The meteors constantly being spewed by the giant volcano shattered when they made contact, unable to slow her down.
Soon, she pierced into the dark, thunderous clouds, her vision completely restricted. Yasenia squinted and spread out her Spiritual Sense. The peak-level Big Improvement Realm Spiritual Sense quickly expanded outward, restoring most of her senses.
Just as she recovered, the lightning around twisted in random serpents, eventually colliding with her body. Yasenia smirked. “It tickles~.”
Her body soared to the peak in just a few minutes, showing how massive this volcano truly was. Once at the peak, Yasenia landed at the edge of the volcanic rim, her claws splattering the magma flowing out of the sides.
“Strange…”
The volcano’s entrance had magma deep below, but there were also currents of magma rising up the walls. Such an odd occurrence surprised Yasenia, but did not completely weird her out.
Instead, her Spiritual Sense pierced through the clouds and quickly scanned the area. “As I expected, this place has much stronger ash and embers. Now, I can feel some burn in my lungs when I breathe. But…” She squinted. “It’s not enough.”
If this was everything that this zone had to offer, Yasenia would honestly turn around right there and now. The benefits she could gain here were not worth the effort.
“But… this place can’t be this simple.”
She was speaking from experience. After all, she had yet to see the old ancestor guardian in this place!
“I refuse to believe there is nothing here.”
So, with a reckless smile stretching on her lips, Yasenia spread out her giant wings and dove down into the volcano!
Then, just as she expected, right before she lunged into the magma, a dragon manifested from the thick ash around her and stretched a claw, grabbing her tail tightly.
Yasenia’s face crumpled. ‘Again!?’
She was absolutely ruthless and quickly turned around, her jaws snapping down as if she wanted to tear through the soul itself.
CHOMP!
To Yasenia’s surprise, though, there was no exclamation of pain.
As she moved her golden eyes to look at the new arrival, she couldn't help but feel stunned.
The dragon, looking at her with somewhat indifferent, red eyes, was basically made of black ash. It felt as if his body were constantly smoking, his red eyes unable to feel much emotion.
Then, she saw the dragon open his maw, fiery flames glowing from the back of his throat. “Junior, if you continue, you’ll die.”
‘Heavens, this dragon is intimidating to the extreme!’
Yasenia could say without a doubt that this dragon was the most menacing she had ever seen, surpassing even Tian Long’s ancient and abyssal feel.
The impact was large enough that Yasenia even voluntarily loosened her jaws, and the dragon, as an answer, also released her tail. ‘This ancestor is quite… gloomy. I guess I need to be formal with this one.’
